Hi
Anyone ever deconstruct the old style Starmate Replay BoomBox?
I want to use my Starmate on my bike,
Simple explaination: use the batteries from the boombox for power, mount the antenna on the rear rac, plug in some head phones and away I go.
I dont want to lug around the whole boombox and besides I want access to the radio without stopping and getting off the bike to scan/change channels on the rear rack.
I don't necessarily need the speakers, headphones would suffice, I just need to power the radio somehow.
Is there a better way to do that other than destroying the boombox for parts?
Any ideas/links would be appreciated. Thanks,
And no I can't afford a Stiletto or a even want a new radio. I like the Starmate. |

Hey now. I'm in the same boat as you. Your starmate runs off of 12v. Get a 12v gel-cell battery and plug it in with the antenna, there is an audio out jack too, so plug in the headphones and away you go. You have to carry a tiny antenna on your back though |

| Good idea, I'd just have figure out the amps and get some kind of home made plug for the power. I can mount the batterand the antenna on the rear rack, the unit would go up on the handle bars. Thanks for the tip. |
