And by dorm room, I mean at PSU, which I doubt they get reception here anyways. Listening online isn't an option because it kills bandwidth. I'm on the 2nd story of a 6 story building, so any tips/hints?

Buy an Outdoor Antenna. Then buy some little suction cups. Really small ones. Put them in the holes on the mounting part of the Outdoor Antenna. Then suction cup it to your dorm window. It works pretty well.

Go to a hardware store or something for the suction cups. Or PM me I'll send you some if you order the Antenna from us. It's a one time deal

I work in a building where I am not able to open windows or mount anything to the building(outdoor antenna). I'm blocked on line due to a so called smart filter. I can not get a signal on either of my units and I sit next to a window on the 5th floor. Any tricks to getting a signal? If SIRIUS could get people a signal I believe the subscriber would double.

First, you need to find out if any of the windows you have access to is getting a signal. You do this by borrowing(or temporarily buying) a Sirius receiver and placing the antenna at that window(on the inside). Once you can verify that you have a signal at a window within 100 feet from you, then all you need is this signal repeater:

Next, you put this signal repeater at the window where a signal exists and then connect the repeater's receiver to your Sirius radio inside your dorm, and you're ready to enjoy SIRIUS! Good luck!

Best thing for you to do is drop Sirius and get XM. XM's reception is exponentially better than Sirius in all situations. I dropped XM for Sirius when Howard started, I can t believe how horrible the recption is. Sirius hardware really sucks.
