| Does anyone else have a problem with their Sirius reception? Mine keeps going out twice a day for anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes. Sometimes it's out for so long I even forget it's on. I have an outdoor antenna and it happens around the same time in the morning and evening each day. Any solutions besides throwing the radio at the wall will be appreciated. |

| I never mounted my antennas. I keep them near a window. When the reception gets bad, I just move it around a little until I find a spot that works. If it stays bad, I pull up the Sirius website and just listen online. |

| I used to have it indoors and moved it around, then I had it permanently placed outdoors and it worked great for a couple of years but now it goes out regularly. |

| You might also need to replace your antenna. They're not that durable. One of mine has already gone out. It's not too expensive the replace though. |

| I'll look into it Fred. |

| I listen to it online everyday, so I have no problems. |

| You really need to put it outside. I've only had issues when I had it inside, but as long as you have a good view of the sky based on where you live, you should be fine. Also you may need a new antenna, but I object to the idea that the antennas are not well made. The two starmate antennas I've used (my starmate and my dad's) have been outside in all sorts of conditions and still work fine. |

That's what I do. I've got like 3 spots all within a foot of each other that keeps me covered all day long. |

| I put my antenna inside my car and attached the magnet onto one of my speakers directly under my back window. I get the same signal weather it's inside my car or outside. Sometimes good, sometimes shitty...mostly good though. I guess it all depends on where you live. |

| I just keep mine on the roof pointing as west as possible. |

| My antenna for the car on my S50 just broke. It was fine for reception but finding the clear FM signal was the problem. I have the home kit antenna which I put outside, but I always have problems losing the signal. I guess its because I have big trees in my backyard, but its really frustrating because I like to record the show to listen on my commute. I don't see why when having the friggin antenna outside I should have signal problems. Its not like there is a brick wall surrounding it. Its just friggin trees. |

| getting a clear radio signal is impossible for my car. And I have been playing with my antenna for a year and a half in my house and depending on rain, fog, too cold or too hot it affects my reception. I have the s100 and taped riley martin on tuesday but missed the first 5 minutes because I got acquiring signal. Also I get acquiring signal a lot during the 11am-2pm hours. |

| My antenna is outside, mounted on my deck. I do have lots of trees around , but the antenna has a clear view of the sky. I also don't understand why trees would block the signal. The trees have been there a lot longer than the antenna and I used to get perfect reception. Like I said earlier it goes out around the same times every day and night. |

| Search for "anetnna placement" on the Sirius website and you can get information on where to point your antenna depending on where you live. |

| I had reception problems repeatedly for several months in a row just like you. I went to tss-radio and bought the Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna and I haven't had a problem since. |

Me too. I mounted it half way up the side of my house pointing west. The signal strength drops once in a while, but I rarely lose it completely for more than a few seconds. |

| It's not the antenna if it's the same time each day. I'm having alot of problems too. It's the stupid fucking design behind the "roving" satellites. Sirius reception sucks. |

I might be wrong, but i seem to have the same problem a few times and then it works great for a long time. I think as the earth tilts on its axis there is a certain time of day we loose out.
It has seeems to happen this time of year, every year.
They need to send two satilites up.
Tell me I am nuts or if I am on to something. |

| XM has exponentially superior reception in all circumstances. I dropped XM for Sirius and I cant believe how horrible the reception is. Sirius really does suck. |

I work at a boatyard. We have compasses all over the place, so I know where NW is. For pretty much all last winter my reception sucked. One day I aimed it at the NE and got a solid signal all day long. I've keep it there ever since.
I haven't a clue as to why. Maybe the wires are backwards on my boom box, maybe its the metal building near by... but don't assume that because you're aiming it the way sirius tells you that that's the best way to set it up. |

Tell me I am nuts or if I am on to something. | I think you're on to something there. That's what I thought it might be also since I have the outdoor antenna and it works pretty good most of the time. If it keeps going out I'll give Sirius a call and bitch to them. |

I bought that and it just came yesterday. How do you install it. I have a 2003 Ford Escape and cannot take the radio out. |

It is nearly impossible to get a decent wireless FM reception in the Miami area. FM signals are so crowded into the FM band (and transmissions have to be getting sloppy because you can hear a strong station's signal on its own frequency, say 94.6 and for one click in either direction, up or down the dial, 94.4 and 94.8 as an example. I thought the FCC was set up to regulate frequency and power transmission, rather than to monitor content of programming)
I have been using the wireless FM method, but I might have to hard wire my Sirius radio to my car's radio, as some on SFN have suggested. |

You still need a SAT antenna. The FM adapter has nothing to do with receiving the SAT signal. |

I did have a problem with one of my cars radios before. It was real strange for 2 days all it said was searching for signal, while in my other car it worked great. After the 2nd day it just started working again and it's been great ever since. |
