this very well might be the most important game Pedro has pitched as a new york met..no-one else has been able to hold a lead..and wagner is day-to-day..if Pedro gets beat tonight..the mets very well maybe looking forward to next year :D

Pedro has already fulfilled his contract.

Between the legitimacy he brought back to the franchise along with the fannies he puts in the seats, his contract is already easily paid for.....

spoken like a business guy..not a fan :D

Come on, if a guy like Mike Francessa will admit it(and nobody loves to hate the Mets more then him) then it must be true! :D

pedro fulfiled his contract based on attendance but NOT based on production. he did nothing for the mets last year and 2 years ago when the mets had a shot to make a WC run he got beat up against the phillies twice and ruined their chances.

I agree with you guys, as a business move, Pedro has already been a great investment.

I can agree that on the field, he has performed nowhere close to what you would expect from the $$$ he earns. But very few players in MLB do.

Baseball is a business after all, and nobody can argue that he was a GREAT business decision. Also, he certainly has never made the Mets a worse team, thats for sure.

Here's to a solid start for Pedro...

At least he is out there pitching, what happened to your $30,000,000 man?

That has been a great investment :D
StumpMerrill
He shut down the Sox on the road in a huge game the other night.

Thats well worth the $30,000,000...How about the start before that and the start coming up? Oh yeah, he is scratched.

You have to be worried about the $30,000,000 man even being out on the field in October.

Didn't choke in 2004. Pedro is much more enjoyable to watch than any pitcher the Yanks have.

Doesn't matter what Pedro does, the mets aren't going to the world series.

Nah, but remember last year in the NLCS the mets were the favorites and had their asses handed to them by the cards. The mets will be sure to disappoint in the play offs again.

Regardless, they still lost to a team that had no business being in the playoffs.

He didn't? he gave up 3 in 6 innings in the ALDS putting his team down 3-1 in the game. in the ALCS he lot Game 2, left while losing w/ Boston's season on the line in Game 5(gave up 4 runs in 6 IP) then came on in game 7 w/ a huge lead for the Sox ad proceeded to gve the yanks some life giving up runs in an inning. Nah, he didn't choke he was great.
