You know.. just in case.. Let's start a play list for Bubba 199.. who knows when someone might need it. We can put the Bubba Ipod tunes on here as well...
I will start out with a Bubba Ipod song...
Van Morrison Brown Eyed Girl (I love that flapped Bubba up : )
Chob
We did have the fan bumper list. We can take the songs from that. I'll see if I can find that thread.
SATANS BEST BUD
Kentucky Rain - Elvis
Angel of death - Slayer
Big Pimp'n - Jay -Z
timcole421
Aldo Nova - Fantasy
TwisteD10
I enjoyed
Master of Puppets - Metallica
ptinsley
Eminence Front was the best. They play that for the player introductions at Dallas Mavericks games, and it kicks ass. I get chills every game. It's awsome.

That one turned out to be a pretty good list. I can't remember who made it, but I remember acting like a cunt and pretending not to understand the 2 song per person rule, even after he pointed it out to me and I added 6 more songs to the list.
I'm not sure if this is Heathers intent or not. If she wants a list of good tunes we all like, I'd be happy to throw a list together as a contribution.
In general though, AC/DC and Metallica always seems to go over well with a lot of people.

If they re - sign a deal on a Friday, whatever Friday, I hope they open up the Monday show with Boom from POD - that would be pretty fitting and give a lot of their long time listeners some major goose bumps.

You can't go wrong with a young male audience with System of a Down, Slipknot/Stone Sour, and Korn. I was checking out the to be judged unsigned band Less the Under from Denver and if they are willing to venture a couple hundred miles east I would definetly go see them. There style is about what I am looking for. I also saw Papa Roach about a month ago and my wife saw Shinedown when I had to farm and they should most definetly be on 199 since they are awesome live and have been willing guests of the show.

Also Bubba 199 was very low on 90's. It needs the Seattle 4 (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Soundgarden), STP, Green Day, Offspring, Pantera, Sublime and some other tracks during by far the best decade for rock music in my opinion.

The Offspring might make my top 4 list with AC/DC, the White Stripes, and Metallica. The rest of your list rocks ass also, most of which are on my favorites list, and maybe the rest deserve a spot too. It is hard to put an order to that it is all so good.
Sublime is the only band on your list I'm not familiar with - so I will be checking them out.

I bought the White Stripes "Icky Thump" about a month ago. I wish Octane would play them and some other bands like My Chemical Romance which is probably my wife's favorite group. She likes System of a Down and all the hard shit, but didn't care much for the White Stripes and likes My Chemical go figure. Octane is playing some shit music right now which it didn't used to. Alt Nation should lend some of it's heavier songs to Octane since Alt Nation has always played shit. Faction is about the only station I can leave it on and not be embarrassed what I am hearing right now. Buzzsaw is about the best classic rock station as far as variety goes, but I like new music so I can have a revolving playlist.

I got into them in 2001, they had 2 hard to get albums out at the time, and they will always be my favorite ones. The other newer band I really like is Wolfmother, Brent has mentioned them a few times in the last couple of months. Crush is also well worth checking out.

I got their cd well over a year ago when "Woman" was hot, cheap at Wal Mart with some of the artwork censored out. By the way Scales Canada made a fine contribution to modern rock with your boys Nickleback. I do like 3 Days Grace but they get grouped together with Nickelback, so that is a knock against them. Atleast Nebraska has given us 311 (Down is probably the biggest post grunge anthem), Matthew Sweet (critically acclaimed pop rock) and Bright Eyes (critically acclaimed coffee house folk not my cup of tea however). Plus Slipknot is less than 2 hours down the road in Des Moines.

there's a pretty distinct difference between his country influenced songs and the rest... I love Johnny Cash, but never liked his country and gospel albums. ;)

Bubba 199 was kinda weak today... I gotta say. Spice fucked up the flow of it with that cock-smoking song he tried to pass off as good shit though.
I knew it was a work... Bubba wouldn't approve of such homosexual endorsed material on Bubba 199.
Bubba 199. No Blacks, Queers or Jews bitch. Just ass kickin' Indiana Thrillbilly music.
BuddyLee
The Bubba 199 concept is totally piss pants funny
synch22
the concept is a way to kill 20 - 30 mins because there is content lacking.... not funny, this is as bad as unsigned band review.
stumpy67
The music is good and it gets the ball-busting train rolling. I don't think it needs to happen every day, but it is kinda funny.
Heatherwiz
I like it, and don't really get the bitching and stuff. It is just some music.
Ned'sTesticles
Quote: Originally posted by Heatherwiz I like it, and don't really get the bitching and stuff. It is just some music.
Well babe... it's the same reason people bitch about Howard doing a "music special"... because we can go to any other channel on the unit to hear music... we come to 101 to hear everything that's NOT music. I agree, it's a hilarious bit every once in a while, with the conflict between the guys over it, but if it happens all the time, like anything else, it just gets old. I thought the homeless guys were fucking radio gold when Bubba had them in... but if Bubba had them in everyday, it wouldn't take long for me to seriously lose interest and beg for something different.... that's all.
Heatherwiz
I guess I am missing parts of the show so often now that everything seems like once in awhile to me.
I do disagree about the analogy to the Howard Music Specials though. I don't think people would complain at all if those specials were Howard and crew live talking about the music while they were playing it.

sweetie... this is SFN... you don't think people would bitch??? :D... I'll admit it though, I would for sure. I guess I just hate the concept of playing a bunch of music on a talk radio format. Bumpers even annoy the fuck out of me... I LOVED it when Bubba mandated that ALL bumpers would be THEIR bits and songs, not regular music... and that just eventually stopped for some reason. Honestly, I listen to good talk radio from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, and if I wanted to hear music, I'd either tune into 100+ other channels on Sirius OR I'd fire up my fancy new Ipod that you bought me  ... Don't get me wrong, I think the bit was hilarious when it happened the first or second time... but yeah, you have to do things in moderation for them to stay entertaining. Hell... fucking a supermodel is probably great at first, but after a while... eh, been there-done that ;)
Gator_Russ
*makes a note to rat out Roger to Bubba for not falling in lockstep with everyone else*
:bl:
He needs to add more variety... its like he makes a note to play at least 1 Rush, REO Speed Wagon, and a couple AC/DC songs every time. Mix it up man. Throw in some Eminem/Jay Z - Renegade. Throw in some Jimi.
Eh, what do I know. I'm just a listener... they're the radio guys. :D
Ned'sTesticles
... I know, I know... I'm sure he's already read it, but I have to be honest in my opinion on the subject. At first I liked it because playing the music was about the comedy,. the reactions of Spice and the other guys.... and now it's becoming more about the music itself, with less commentary, and that's what I don't care for. ... Playing music on talk-radio channels is just a crazy pet-peeve of mine I guess. I come to 101 to get away from all the music that somebody else chooses for me. But you're right... in the end, it's their show, not mine, and they know radio better than I ever could.
Heatherwiz
ANYWAY I like it.. and this is a thread to make playlists for it.. you hijackers!
Screw you! I am gonna dance to my talk radio too!! lol...

Dakota4791
It's gotten old, fast.....I think the problem is that they just drag it on for too long. I mean, if they did it for a minute or two, it'd be funny...the fact it goes on for 10 minutes sometimes is annoying.
