I have repeatedly said, over and over again, that in no way would I want to interfere with the lives of homosexuals alive today. I have always said that.
My comments now and in the beginning of this are that any "fix" will occur before birth. Science will identify the gene and fix it or tweak it to a normal condition.
People are taught in these days to combat any sort of talk in regard to homosexuality. You have to say all the right things and if you do not then you get the full treatment. A rational discussion is off the books. It's immediate attack. That is unfortunate.
While I would not interfere with the lives of homosexuals, at the same time I do not believe this behavior should be normalized. We should not change anything in regard to laws and schooling and the many other things. We should not as a society become pro-Gay. Anymore than we should believe that any other mental illness should be accepted as normal and change things for them.
I don't believe it's a "sin". I have said many times in this thread that it is genetic. My comments are not because of religion. How would that work if someone is born with something?
A community always had a right to decide what laws it would create in regard to community morality and standards. They still do. One cannot run around naked, prostitution is outlawed, pornography, etc.. A community should not be prevented from creating laws and upholding the moral tradition of the community. That is how we have always done things. Schools should teach in accordance with a communities standards. They pay the taxes and they send the kids to school. If a community does not want homosexuality taught in school then it should not be. I would be against doing that. It is move in the direction of normalizing.

If a community does not want homosexuality taught in school then it should not be. I would be against doing that. It is move in the direction of normalizing.

Maybe that's true in your trailer park, but the vast majority of children, when asked about this, have absolutely no problems with the idea of understanding human sexuality.
At what age they are capable of understanding is different for each child, I imagine, but I think 6 years is probably a pretty good average. |

The bottom line here is it's a state issue.
Massachussetts is a "gay friendly" state... It's arguable whether or not this should be read in school at that age. I can agree that parents should definitely be the ones to educate their kids on a subject like this... however....
At that age kids know that there are gays in the world... ESPECIALLY in a state like Massachussetts, New York, California, etc. So making them aware of these types of people and teaching them to be tolerant of them I see no problem with.
If you are that scared of your kids knowing about gay people you can move to Alabama, or Utah or some other backwards state like that where it's still 1950 in a lot of peoples minds and not talking about something will make it go away...
This internalized homophobia has to stop though... guys like cunning lingo don't want his kids knowing about gays because they might start asking about that bath house he frequents.
