10-11 The Stern Show Conspiracy Show
Gay Tony, BIG STIFFY, dharmabum, blue2noise
Uberman had to back out. I wouldn't mind one more for this show
this week we hit stern fan conspiracies. all those theories that fans have concerning the shows and the people on the channels
which ones should we cover? how can we get to the bottom of them? who do you want to talk to? we're going to try and get comments from the people involved.

Here are some that I see all the time. What else needs to be added to them. What kind of evidence do you have? I AM NOT SAYING THESE THINGS ARE TURE!!! I'm listing fan conspiracys which we will try to prove or disprove. These are the fans opinions and NOT mine.
Ned is not a real person. it's a long running bit. he's really just a voice collectively done by all the guys on the show & they hire an actor to play Ned at appearances. We'll look for proof and try to question the man directly.
Howard really controls all the salaries at Sirius. Everyone is paid out of his $500 million and when he says i've got nothing to do with it, he's not being truthful. (LINK)
Howard's hair is not real. he dies it & wears a hair piece. Look at his gray beard & if you what the Gary Busse E! video you can clearly see his hair piece lift up when Gary has Howard in a head lock. (LINK)
Penny Crowne was fired for digging too deep into Howard's personal life. The Howard 100 News has been neutered and is no longer allowed to cover Howard.
Sal & Richard's prank calls are fake. They are all setup calls with actors. There's no way people could be that dumb & hang in there that long and they would be able to get permission to use them.
Sirius can track exactly how many people are listening to every show online & via satellite. they don't release this information becasue the talent could use it as a bargaining chip against them & they can inflate the estimated listening audience in the press.
Gary does not book Billy West on the show becasue Billy was forced to sign an agreement with Mel which he won't agree not to talk about it. (LINK)
Sal's stupidity and Richard's hygiene issues are just radio bits.
Fred does not let positive Jackie or the Joke Hunt emails through to Howard.
The weekly "I love Howard TV" calls are setup calls to promote the channel. They are built in commercials / product placement.
The voting was rigged in the Win John's Job contest and Richard Christy was the pre-determined winner before the competition even began.

GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. once you've been around for awhile ask to be on the show and pick a date. there's a schedule posted in every brainstorming thread.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

The online player is the easiest to track. As for what people listen to over their receivers...no way.
There are important intersections and roadways that have "listening posts" that verify what people
are listening to while driving but that is taken from the audio coming out of the stereo system.
If the receivers "uplinked" they would need significant transmitting ability and they don't
have any gain in those little plastic antennas. (The mobile antenna gets warm because it has
an active preamplifier to improve signal to noise ratio and overcome its smaller aperature.)
The units would be way more expensive and bigger if they had to transmit sufficient to
be received in space. Also, the antennas would be marked all over as radiation hazards.
They do have an FM modulator that is legal power (250uV p/M/M ERP or thereabouts)
but it can be switched off, so it's not a viable indicator of who is listening.
I have really big problems here getting a decent signal and it's being downlinked to me
by a high power satellite brimming over with high gain antenna arrays. How the hell
is my little plastic antenna on the window sill ever going to uplink anything usable
in the other direction without being comparable? |

during the contest when HOWARD first announced the vote tallies cutting it down to i think three i called in and called that cunt out for obvious cheating because she was so not funny at all and was obviously having people rig the vote.....dont recall though her saying she had friends in the computer biz who could do that though.....it was just obvious as shit something was up and i called in and went off on her saying she and her cronies were cheating cuz she obviously sucked......here is the clip when i called in.....i did embellish on the call fibbing that i had seen her on all the STERN Websites offering cybersex for votes......i had no problem lyin' on her cuz of her blatant cheating.....and then my call turned in to a great Tom bashing moment. :hw:

I'm no audio buff, but I'm not sure what you're saying is the only way sirius can track its audience.
They DO have the ability to make updates on each individual unit. That would mean that they have more than just the ability to broadcast content. Their system interacts with each individual reciever. I have to believe they can monitor traffic.
What you propose, is an external tracking system. Not specific to Sirius. |

Simple, the downlink is coded with your specific radio ID. The radio and the signal "handshake" and the radio says the incoming signal is okay for that radio ID number. The radio does all the locking and unlocking, they just downlink a code to your radio that syas what you are subscribing to. |

Bubba can usually get clips up online in a matter of minutes. Won't happen though. They will have NED tell you to fuck off and they will refuse. |

* Ralph gets so much air time from Howard because of what he knows. He ran with Howard during his single days and knows way too much. Keeping him close keeps him quiet.
* Mike Walker segmets are done every week to keep the Enquirer off of Howard's case and out of the tabloids.
* Cabbie got way more attention than he deserved because Howard felt Cabbie was nuts and he was afraid of him. The other cabbie theory is that Howard let him on time and time again because he felt bad Cabbie did the time for what he said on the Stern Show. |

How about discussing the issue that Howard keeps saying that Sirius does NOT have ratings.
The issue is, Bubba admitted the other day that they DO have ratings.
Bubba also sounded uncomfortable talking about it.
Is there a coverup. And if so, why?

Do you guys remember when Bubba and his crew arrived at the Film Festival and Ned was there as was Manson. The red carpet interviewed Ned and he sounded different...wasn't the same voice. And I remember they gave some excuse, but since then no interviews with Ned. |

Maybe Mutt will rule on it tonight but I think it'd be better for people to see it so they can call in with informed opinions on it. Could be quickly confirmed or debunked which would be a result of the SFRT conspiracy show. Unless of course Mutt would rather leave it open ended. |

You know, I have to agree with you on this.
Robin was the second pick, and the chances that she would get Howard were 1 out of at least 75.
We know that certain things have been staged before, and very few people would have been in on it if they did set it up so Robin would get Howard.
She is in a cage, after all, so the line of sight to the jar with names would have been obstructed. It wouldn't have been too hard for Gary to set that up. We all know what a loyalist he is to The Show, and it would have been easily done. |

There is one way I can see it being possible that he has very little to no say on what people are paid....
It would be a conflict of interest on his part to be involved in the negotiations since whatever is left over becomes his. So either he would have to become the staffs direct employer or he would have to hand all responsibilities off to Sirius. |

If the checks the staff receive are from Sirius itself then yes. Otherwise Howard himself, his agent or other representation would have to be present to protect Howard's interest in the deal since whatever is not spent on the staff goes directly to Howard. Any other way than handing it to Sirius would be a conflict of interest on Howard's part when it comes to what his staff is paid. Which would totally negate his on-air stance of not being involved in or having any say in what they are paid.
