Just a little rant here...
I HATE VONAGE. They charged my account in error of $116. I just sat on the phone here at work (not at home BECAUSE THE VONAGE THERE DOESNT FUCKING WORK) for 56 minutes with a variety of people and lots of HOLD. All to be more angry and dissatisfied with things. And to find out that they can not refund me my money now until I send them all their shit back, they sent me a replacement for their broken pieces of shit they sent me. THEN charged me for it 3 weeks later after sending it for free. This charge is on my debt/checking card too.. so needless to say things WERE balanced and will now bounce. Now I can't cancel my services because my refund wont go through. So after they get their shit back from me I have to sit on the phone for another 56 minutes to get my account canceled.
Their customer service sucks, I can't understand a word anyone says. The service sucks and blows, fuck you Vonage, if I didn't want my money back I would shit in the box.
PS.. I only got this service to do SOTB from home on a "landline" and had to go other places to do it to get a landline because their fucking devices were so shitty it was down when it came time to do the show. |

They have been great! It is hilarious to me that when you call customer service...you get this guy Tim Jackson on the phone and he is the owner of the company. But they unfucked everything that tomatovine fucked up and I am paying about $15 a month for 500 minutes....of which I use about 15.

What unit are you using? I've had my vonage for a year or so and it never goes down unless my internet does. Sorry you are having a bad time. I hope you are feeling better today. |

| hey wiz i work for a telephone contractor any you will never get the service from an ip phone that you will a conventional twisted pair or fiber line. they are patched together from phone companys left over bandwidth and are not tied into a cental office network backbone and therefore the distances from you to them can be way high leading to poor trafic conditions. sometimes they work sometimes they dont. like the internet the more traffic on it the slower it is. |

I agree with ya Roger. I was talking about this with the wife as we were driving up here. I would constantly pause it and we would discuss. The only way I could even make a comparison is to music. I've been playing guitar for nearly 20 years and been in and out of bands to varying degrees of success. We all recently started playing guitar hero and some of my 'non-musician' friends took and interest in bass and drums.
If one of them started talking as if they're the same as me or a 'fellow' musician, I'd kind of chuckle. I imagine today's blow up is about months and maybe years of frustration on both sides. I think Artie wants to be successful on his own without the shadow of Stern and Sal wants to be treated as an equal. It's just a mess. Lots of truth came out today. |

I don't have a hard time seeing how people could dislike Artie. I like him. He is a reminder of where I am from. Moving to the armpit known as south Jersey from being much closer to NYC, I miss the area. I went to college with people that were from Artie's area and I grew up very close...like 15 minutes away - hearing him speak reminds me of my homeland....and we are almost the same age so we're like homies or something....lol |

I know what you're saying.... I think that's the reason most people like him, because they can relate to him... I just don't think he takes his position as seriously as he should. You've got guys that would cut their arm off the sit in that chair everyday, and they would contribute a little more than falling asleep and eating... it just kills me knowing that Bubba has to go through what he's going through to get HALF of a fair deal, and Artie gets to do what Artie gets to do... shitty |

I would agree that the show really made Artie and definitely not the other way around. But again, I fell like there is a guy that represents my turf there. I think Artie is very conflicted and full of self loathing. His high and mighty attitude is a front. You can't argue success....just like when Ronnie was yelling at Bob Levy and asking to compare paychecks....Ronnie wins that one and I hate Ronnie. Artie has a fucking huge bank account that if nothing else can give him a mental boost, that can.

Come on...at least he is part of a money making machine. Unlike Martha, Jamie Fox, etc...
Artie deserves his success. He was one of the people that would have cut off his arm to be there. He's a true fan of Howards and it shows in his contribution. The episode of him sleeping was some of the best TV/radio I've heard. |

Usually NT, you are on point with your opinions but I think you are way off base on this Artie vs Sal deal. Artie has constantly tried to help get those guys to understand the "gay" stunts, which are funny as hell, but will not help Sal and Richard after the Stern Show is over. They won't take his advice, so he gets mad at them.
He has earned his status with the show and if Howard is okay with Artie sleeping, which Howard was, I saw the episode on HTV) then that is Howards call and the guys in the back have no say in the matter.
Sal is ultimately jealous with anyone that is close to Howard and/or gets Howard approval as to being funny. Since, Richard and Sal are not told daily that they are funny, they take their jealously out on Artie. |

Thats fine... I knew most people would disagree with me... My issue is Artie's work ethic. When I used to hear O&A, the only redeeming quality was Jim Norton, basically the Artie of their show... and he IS the show... he earns his money and the show was awful anytime he wasn't there. When it comes to Artie, half the time I can't even tell if he's there or not. Everyone can pile on Sal... but they sing a different story when he's taking on Howard or Bubba... Artie's swagger as an "accomplished radio guy" gets aimed at guys WAY above his talent pool as well... not just Sal and Richard. My position is... if 80% of your contribution to a show is your own fatness and your sleeping and eating on the job, then I take issue with that when you argue your superiority over guys that, whether you like them or not, work a hell of alot harder and are willing to do so much more for the show. |

Have to disagree with you on the show made Artie, it has enhanced Artie but even Howard said that Artie was established in the biz before getting the job. If you ever saw the the 1st time Artie was on the show, he was with Norm McDonald and HS loved his stories then and Howard obviously has a comfort level with Artie and why they offered him the chair.
And any comparison of Bubba's deal to Artie's deal is simply off base because they are 2 different entities no matter what they bring to Sirius. I don't think CBS ever offered Bubba $5 million to take over when Howard was set to leave, so Artie actually took a pay cut to stay loyal to Howard, so this what Bubba does vs Artie is not logical. |

He has earned his status with the show and if Howard is okay with Artie sleeping, which Howard was, I saw the episode on HTV) then that is Howards call and the guys in the back have no say in the matter.
Sal is ultimately jealous with anyone that is close to Howard and/or gets Howard approval as to being funny. Since, Richard and Sal are not told daily that they are funny, they take their jealously out on Artie. |
Well I won't come down on anybody for having an opposing opinion... Thats why I said in the first post that I knew I was in the minority and that most people would disagree, so I didn't expect everyone to think the same way I do... Artie is a major contributor to the show, and his comedic quickness is something you definitely miss when he's not there.
Sal is great on the roasts, but they hit and miss with a lot of those phoney phone calls. |
