Clearwater, Fla. Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Nick Hogan for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. At this point the police and Hogan are working on arrangements for Nick to turn himself in. We hear that could be as early as this morning.

Hogan was involved in a one-car crash in August that severely injured friend John Graziano. John has severe brain injuries and will likely require specialized care for the rest of his life.

johnl
I hope he goes to a real jail for long enough to get his head straight.
KingOfAllCubans
Thank god! What the hell took so long? If it were any one of us, we would have been arrested right there on the spot. I hope he goes to jail, looses his license for good, and has to support his passenger financially for the rest of his life.

Breaking News: Nick Hogan Arrested - Sent To Jail
11/07/2007 by Ryan Clark

Clearwater, Florida " Nicholas Bollea was arrested minutes ago for Reckless Driving Involving Serious Bodily Injury. He will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail when this happens. He will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail when this happens.

Bollea, who is the son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, was involved in a high-speed crash in August that left his friend critically injured. 22-year-old John Graziano III remains in the hospital, reportedly on life support.

Police have been investigating the crash, but up until this point, no charges had been filed. Investigators say Bollea was racing his Toyota Supra against a Dodge Viper when he lost control and crashed into a tree.

The driver of the Dodge Viper, 22-year-old Daniel Jacobs, has been issued a court summons for Reckless Driving.

In addition to Reckless Driving Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Bollea is also charged with: Use of a motor vehicle in commission of a felony, A person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher, and illegal window tint.

Nick's rep, Adam Handelsman, EVP of 5WPR, issued the following statement to TMZ "Nick and the entire Hogan Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007. Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena Â_ a court of law."

The statement continues. "The family's primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick's longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can. The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt. There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident. We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John's recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers."

I applaud Mutt & staff for recently allowing this subject to be spoken about honestly & not protective bc of Hogans friendship with Bubba

While I think Nick will not be prosecuted for this, I hope this is a lesson for these young people to not drink and drive.

Yeah, I was unaware Nick had alcohol in his system until this came out. I have zero compassion for him now.
TJGoSurf
He is a spoiled punk, I've never liked him. To have the chance that he does and he wants to street race?
angryashell
he wont go to prison which sucks. Karma will get him though....

Some times the criminal justice system is the wrong tool to deal with a very serious matter as the system is not flexible. I just don't see how charging this kid helps in anyway, besides satisfying peoples lust for revenge.
SleepingWarrior
A person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher, and illegal window tint.

That right there is the nail in his coffin. I'd like to see people defend the kid now. Come on people, start telling us all again how the kid did nothing wrong at all and shouldn't be held to task. I'm waiting.... anyone.....anyone...

The point of the prosecution is to send a message to other street racers.

How about sending a message to others about the criminal consequence?

I wonder if the friend John supplied the alcohol since he is of legal age?
Chase
The whole thing is a damn shame. Nick definitely desreves to be held accountable for his actions, but I feel bad for him. I obviously feel worse for his friend John, but I know I did some pretty friggin stupid shit as a kid that could've resulted in something serious like this. I guess most people get lucky, these two certainly didn't. You have to keep in mind that Nick is just a kid. He maybe a child of priviledge, but that doesn't make him any older or more mature.
ray's bush
the iron shiek should put him in a cobra clutch, then cart his ass off to jail to be um-beled

Man they even jammed him for window tint. Somebody is trying to make a name for himself.

Remember the initial reports said he was out with his Dad prior to this & someone told a station or website he was Nick drinking with Terry.

Not saying its true but it was out there early on

Court records say that two hours after the wreck, Bollea's ethanol serum level was .055 – high enough for a ticket for someone younger than 21 but lower that that required for a drunken driving charge.

Graziano, a veteran of the Iraq war, was left with "minimal brain activity'' following the wreck, according to the court documents. Graziano remains at Bayfront Medical Center and is expected to be transferred to a veterans hospital very soon, Tragos said.

The driver against whom Bollea was racing was Daniel Jacobs, 22, and riding as a passenger with Jacobs was Barrett Lawrance, 27. Lawrance told police that earlier in the day he, Jacobs and Bollea were on Hogan's boat, the documents say. Jacobs told authorities he had four beers on Hogan's boat and later drank a 32-ounce rum runner at a popular Clearwater bar, the documents say.

This is from tbo.com
But I would like to know how much your levels go down since it took 2 hours to take the test could it have been over the limit 2 hours before?

I don't understand this thinking. The argument that "Oh come on, everyone fucked up and did shit at that age, give the kid a break." So he should be given a pass then because people that have nothing to do with the situation broke the law?
Korn Dog
Edited; just to be safe
Chase
I'm in no way suggesting that he get a pass because he's a kid - at all. All I'm saying is he made a poor choice, and at that age poor choices are pretty much a given. He screwed up, big, but he isn't the devil. Yeah, he had speeding tickets prior to the crash, who wouldn't at 17 with a car that fast? His goal that evening wasn't to try and hurt anyone or ruin one of his best friends life, that I can pretty much guarantee. I'm certainly not trying to justify or defend the eventuality of his actions in any way, but he's still just a kid who fucked up, like it or not.

Absolutely. Hell, chances are the ambulance ride alone could have saved his ass - as opposed to being tested at the scene of the accident. Any prosecutor worth his weight in shit will point this out in court.
mctwin2kman
An average sized male can get rid of %.02 or the alcohol in there system in one hours time. So he would have been a roughly .095 when he was driving.

Nick Hogan Crash: A Tale of the Tape

Nick Hogan's camp is trying to turn the tide of public opinion by offering up exclusive new video shot just a few hundred feet from the sensational August 26 crash that left his former Marine buddy in a vegetative state.

The images, captured by a nearby security camera, appear to show Hogan's yellow Toyota Supra and another silver Dodge Viper, driven by pal Daniel Jacobs, stopped at a red light mere seconds before the smash-up. Then, they contend, Jacobs' ride momentarily got stuck behind a stalled car. That could contradict eyewitness reports that the Hogster and his buddy were drag racing.

Nick's attorney, Kevin Hayslett, spoke exclusively to TMZ and told us exactly what he thinks the video proves.

"This video is so important," Hayslett says, "because there are people that law enforcement relied upon who said that Nick was driving a particular way on this particular stretch of road. They are claiming that he was speeding during that time period, driving recklessly, losing control of his car. One witness even claims he got to the intersection on Missouri Avenue and Court Street and had to slam on his brakes and nearly went into oncoming traffic.

The allegation of street racing is totally inconsistent with the video. If there is any race going on, even if the Viper was in a race, Nick wouldn't know he was in it because he was so far ahead. That videotape is a complete 180 from what people claim happened and if they are wrong on that, how can we be sure they are right on other things?

I think eyewitness testimony is the least reliable. That's why we have instant replay in football."

you know i would have been pissed off had he not been charged with anything i know bubba is close to the hogans but this had to happen

I don't think he should be cut a break, but I do think he should be given a second chance. Some young people need a rude awakening to get them on the right path. Hope his bud pulls through and he comes out of it a much wiser man.

They may have been told that... Nick was posting a similar type of thing supposedly about the time they were taking John out of the medically induced coma. I asked my wife (nurse) what her take on it was and she said that Nick was most likely lying or had misinterpreted what he had been told. From what I've read, John blinks his eyes... if that is the case he has a long road to haul.

Shitty... and lame. A forty something woman/mother yacking on about how 'cool' street racing is? wow.

I haven't said much about this for fear of being TO'd. Nick was irresponsible, I don't think anyone can argue that. It ain't like skydiving where if your chute doesn't open, well, then you've fucked yourself. Here, you have a passenger maybe? Perhaps another car? Maybe even a pedestrian?

Now much has been said about how this is all Nick's fault. The passenger made a choice to get in that car with the possibility of a race, maybe even knowing he was going to race. They've been friends a long time. It's almost like choosing to get in the car with a drunk driver. Maybe nothing will happen... maybe it will.

Nick fucked up, he's a kid. I'm sure he didn't want to hurt anyone. From the link above, it appears that he wasn't given any guidance on this dangerous hobby.

Before reading that story I thought what a shame it was gonna be that Hogan was gonna lose most if not all his money due to his kids actions. after reading that I hope Hogan has to do house shows till the day he dies for rent money.

Don't forget lying on camera to national news. The first thing they will go after is credibility since they maintain there was no racing going on. Show those two tapes side by side, and their credibility is gone too. They are fucked. I hope the experience is humbling for all of them.
