Lately I have really been into watching the PBR(Professional Bull Riders) when they are on TV. These fucking guys are nuts, I have only been watching for a few weeks and have seen some crazy shit. One guy literally had his head bashed into the metal fence by the bull when he was coming out of the cage in the beginning. He was bleeding and shit but still managed to hold on for like 6 seconds.
Another time the guys hand got caught on the rope that goes around the bull, so when he fell of the bull just kept dragging him because he could not free his arm. It took them like 5 minutes to get the guy untangled and shit. The dudes arm was super fucked up and the whole thing was just surreal.
When I was in Vegas the PBR Finals were going on, so we saw a ton of cowboys but never thought to get hammered and actually go. Now I find out the PBR is coming to MSG in January and really want to go.
Am I the only fucker who watched this?
If not, I really have some questions. Like how do they give the guys a score. What do they base it on?

| yeah bull riding is the only rodeo event i can watch on TV. of course it's the best when the bull gets the best of the rider. |

Do you know the criteria of how these guys get scored?
Like what makes that dude Justin McBride better then anybody else?
How do the judges know what is a good ride and what is a bad ride.
I know that if you hold on for more then like 8 seconds then it is a good ride, but I also know there must be more then that. |

| I have a few redneck friends who do this @ local shows and I must say they are pretty crazy...one got stepped on, got a bunch fo ribs broken and various other injuries but was right back on the bull as soon as he healed |

Can anybody help me on the scoring system? Thats what I am really curious about.
But you guys are right, these guys are nuts. But it is entertaining as hell.
Whats good is that they send these guys out one after another, so there is not a long lull between riders. |

Only sport where the guys on the sideline have more balls than the guys doing it.
I mean.... Those clown are out there to keep those beasts off the 'attraction'....
Now staying AWAY from the bull?
That's a sport.

I dont mean to be a dick but whats the difference between the PBR and the rodeo?
I thought that just the PBR is pro's and the rodeo is amatuers.
Is there more to it? |

PBR basically takes the bull riding event out of the rodeo to showcase it. A rodeo is usually a 3 or 4 day event that has horses, calfs, and bulls being used in different events. The best rodeos are the ones held by the prisons. |

ahhhh, got ya.
I am really only into the bull riding event, guess thats why I can watch the PBR.
How do prisons have rodeo's? Are you telling me the prisoners will go out and ride a bull? That shit is priceless. I would even pay to watch that on the internet :rofl: |

| When I was a kid the prison in Huntsville, Tx would hold a rodeo and have the prisoners doing all kinds of crazy shit to win money. One thing they would do that everyone liked was tie some money around the bulls head between his horns and the prisoners would try and get it. Guys were always getting busted up. Just moved back to Texas a couple of years ago so I'm not sure if they still have them. |

holy shit, that really is priceless. I wish that had that up here...
I just dont know how it is legal. They would NEVER get away with that up here in NY, their would be 10 lawsuits before the thing even started. |

| It is a crazy sport. My dad road bulls professionally in the 70's. Most of his winnings went to Dr. bills. Also had some friends get really messed up on bulls. One of the weird things that alot of people don't know. UNLV had a really good rodeo team for years. Wouldn't think that in the city. |
