i'm kind of sick of everyone intimating that Artie is using again but no one is really doing anything about it. and, he does a year-to-year contract w/ the understanding that he can take time off whenever so who tha fuk cares if he takes a day off here & there anyway? but he's been 300 lbs for too long :bf: |

He made a point of saying that his gig with the show is coming to an end...he said it on the wrap up show..again.....(the show where Artie really unloads)...how long do we have to listen to this crap from Artie????? if he hates getting up sooooo early....then QUIT!!!!! stop torturing yourself.... Ralph made the most sense this week calling into the wrap up show..that Artie should just take a leave for a few months....start therapy...cause this is getting old.... :yesshake:

Good overall topic = A good 50% of all show bits and content outside of guests is gay. It seems as if there is something going on all the time.

Artie is in a very dark place right now. He does hate himself and is living under a huge cloud of fear, guilt and shame. If you remember during the show yesterday he mentioned his PB interview and his problems (I think in this order):
1. Obesity
2. Alcholism
3. Heroin addiction
4. Cocaine addiction
5. Loneliness
Having been a chemical dependency counselor in the past, and also a being recovering addict/alcoholic, I can tell you that numbers 1-4 are the symptoms of #5, which is again only symptom of something very traumatic from Artie's past. To quote an important book passage (those who know the source understand):
"Selfishness self-centeredness! That, we think, is the root of
our troubles. Driven by a hundred forms of fear, self-delusion, self-
seeking, and self-pity, we step on the toes of our fellows and they
retaliate. Sometimes they hurt us, seemingly without provocation,
but we invariably find that at some time in the past we have made
decisions based on self which later placed us in a position to be
hurt."
Right now, Artie needs a miracle. Death is knocking on his door and he is quickly running out of time. The Stern show people and his friends should do an off-air intervention to save his life. Sometimes I think Artie is a big asshole. But where I got well, we don't shoot our wounded. Personally, I'm praying for the man. |

i've been in that chatroom since the 1st week that SFNers started it & it definitely gave me new insight once Eric started coming in. As Howard said, he's smiling when he calls in. But, he really smiles & his eyes widen when :boobies: are shown |
