Thread just brought up in the lounge. Here is my opinion. Any thoughts?
Nfl network progress:
Now Thursday night game.
2-years Monday night game
4-years Sunday night game
5-years Wildcard Saturday games
7-years Sunday Playoff games
10-years Superbowl also ppv from nfl.com
Eventually they will be able to make more than the multi-millions offered by the networks. Much by subscriber fees and even more from global nfl.com The Nfl did not start their own channel for no reason. I have NFL network and I watch it all the time. PPV global/internet would be billions. |

I agree.
ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and ESPN pay a shit ton of money to the NFL. Part of that probably pays for the NFL Network since it doesn't get wide carriage. |

| I just heard the other day that the senate sent the NFL paperwork stating that they needed to work something out and make the NFL Network available to more people. Supposedly the letter stated something along the lines of them lowering the price they charge to cable companies. |

| Sure, right now the networks pay the NFL HUGE money. Hundreds of millions of dollars. But, traditional TV is now web broadcasting and the NFL is making more efforts to be global. They own the product and could in theory "sell" it any way they choose especially globally with minimal cost. The question is in 10 years time will there be more money in traditional TV advertising or web based advertising. 10 years ago people laughed at satellite radio. |

I agree. There should be one Saturday night game every weekend of the season. |
