I love Bubba to death and he provides great entertainment but man he has put on some weight. I am watching stuff on Bubba Raw that was filmed recently and I swear he is like 325. He has gotten wide in the chest and stomach.

I am no bargain at 6 feet 250, but for a guy who is always talkin about eatin/training etc. he should weigh a little less.

I don't wanna see the guy get back to 400 bills.
HuskerRed
I think he will start to drop the weight again now that everything is worked out and he knows what he is doing next year.
TopContender
That or we can put out a Towel watch on when he blows up to the point that he can't wipe his ass!!!

He'll be ok now that Hogan is back to work out with. zman, if they go to OC you gonna go? I'm just around the corner from you in O'side.

lets see....8 hrs of radio a day....8 hrs of sleep....won't leave much or any for working out actually.....so bring back Bubba 488....he's coming soon like Santa

I don't get why people rib him about his weight. If you're genuinely concerned, that's one thing...but making fun of him for being fat? C'mon, you must be able to come up with someting better than that. Or perhaps not. Nice, Chrissygirl...way to pile on.

Sounds like Bubba has fought weight his whole life...and I actually feel for him. I'm curious why he hasn't done the stomach stapling/rubber band, actually...has he ever said? Brent really trimmed down, but I don't think its nearly that easy or simple for Bubba.

Sad thing is...with all that weight, he may not be around to enjoy the fruits of all this hard work, Tyler, Heather, etc. I hope for everyone's sake he is able to drop some of it and soon. Same goes for Artie. At least Bubba is lighter than he has been in the past...Artie has nearly doubled in size.

I am going man if they come to OC. I am thinking about Vegas.

Yeah. You are right around the corner. I live in south Carlsbad by La Costa Canyon High School.

I think he and Artie have mentioned it and both said they can lose the weight naturally. The thing is, they are both over 40 now, and that will be much harder than in the past. I wish them both all the luck in trying to drop weight, tho. I'm in that same boat.

For those who have not ever struggled with their own weight, I applaud and envy you. It usually isn't as most people like to oversimplify it as calling people with weight problems lazy, etc. I've never been catastrophically large, but have struggled with my weight throughout life as well. I find it funny that people sympathize with alcoholics and drug abusers, but can't get in line fast enough to call someone a fat fuck, lazy, etc. Unless you've been on the other side of the fence, you have no idea how difficult the struggle can be. In ways, it IS an addiction. All of you that throw out your eat a carrot, get on a treadmill comments I challenge you to do the same for one week just to see how difficult it can be.

A couple of years ago I decided I was tired of looking and feeling like shit, and lost 80 pounds over the course of three months. That was drinking 1-2 gallons of water per day, and eating a total of 600-800 calories per day for those 3-4 months. I realize it is not the way to do it, but it worked for me. It took me 2 years to do so, but I've successfully gained most all of it back by going back to eating poorly. Let me tell you something.....keeping it off is 100x harder than taking it off, and I suspect Bubba is going through a lot of the same. When it is coming off, it all feels great....but unfortunately it seems that you easily become accustomed to that feeling and take it for granted.

I know Bubba and the show makes a big rib out of the whole deal, but it is obvious that it does indeed bother him. I certainly wish him the best in his quest, and would really like to have it as part of the show somehow. I know that sounds more Martha than Bubba....but that kind of thing is good inspiration for the rest of us.

At any rate.....call me a kiss ass, or what have you....but you wont hear a bad word from me about him in this category. From dirt track racing, to things like this.....I think all of the things I have in common with him are a huge part of why I dig the show, and his personality so much. As of Jan 1st since all the fat holiday meals will be out of the way for a while, I will begin my quest back to my all time low 2 years ago to 186 pounds (I'm 6').

Admittedly, I have not read the rules here to know for sure if it is allowed or not.

But if it is......since I have never read anything but negativity out of you, I'd like to request that you go gargle some old, stinky, saggy, trailer park nuts.

But if that is against the rules, please disregard. Have a great evening.

I'm 39 and believe me, it's not easy to lose and maintain wieght loss. I lost 115 lbs. back in '93. As of now, I've managed to gain back about 80 lbs. SHITTY!
cincysternfan
It is definitley hard to watch your weight. espically in Bubba's lifestyle. it is all about lifestyle and situation. I am a pro wrestler and it is hard to watch what I eat, espically on a budgeted income and the fact im trying to build muscle on top of that. Its all about willpower and how much money and dedication you can put to it. If Hogan is with him working out in the gym or anyone else thatn can push him, he can definitley slim back down. I think him getting the gym for everyone is awesome. that will help, and also haveing Dave clean out all the junk food is a good start for him as well, but lets not kid ourselves, Bubba is going to have to work his rear off. but he can do it. I believe in him. he can do it
:D
Slidejob Jones
The whole trick to doing it is feeling good about yourself, and having the confidence, and a plan to do it. We all know he can..........I just need to convince myself that I can do it again.

Sure, if you mean not eating 700-800 calories a day, and no longer walking up to 10-15 miles a day lazy. I kind of shifted my work from back breaking blue, into white collar jones which didn't help either. But yeah, I haven't been making any kind of effort either.

Please post your diet and workout regimen.
gqman123
I think Bubba knows his limits, he shed the weight before and will do it again. The dude had an atrocious past few months, hand him some slack. I'm sure he was strained over the whole deal with siruis. He truly gives a rats ass about his employees and his company, so he ate a little extra while dealing with a huge distaction in his life, big deal. Without Bubba and the guys we wouldn't receive our afternoon entertainment, let him eat.
BCStel
They are building the Gym so that should be an easy workout in between shows. They have mentioned it a few times on-air.
ctbubba
Hey, loosing weight and keeping it off can be a bitch. At my heaviest I was 330, have been as light as 180. I'm now sitting at 250 having gained about 25lbs since spring. Bubba has probably gained and lost 1500lbs throughout his life and like some of us, it will ALWAYS be a battle. I for one encourage him to get back on his training and eating right, I just started!
BCStel
I hear ya. It is NOT easy...I wish I was blessed with the metabolism of some of the people I know..can eat whatever they want...they do hit the gym but still eat a ton.
ctbubba
Hey, it's Jan 2nd, I've made it to the gym twice since starting to get my fat ass back on track. I'm starting out at 255, I haven't lost any weight yet, holiday party's are a bitch but I figure I'd try to get the pain of starting to work out again over with. Not that any of ya give a shit about my weight problems but I figure I'll check in at this post every now and then and maybe some other people here, maybe even the man, Bubba himself won't feel like there alone in their battle.
ctbubba
Down to 251 today, just made my 4th visit to the gym, muscles freaken ache, wondering if all this pain is worth 4lbs.

Good luck, I'm trying to do the same.
ctbubba
Worked out a total of 9 times since the day after x-mas. I haven't lost much weight since I haven't changed any eating habbits, about 4 lbs. I have to say though, I feel really good, I'm actually gonna start a workout split instead of a total body workout cuz I don't feel like I"m getting enough isolation. The 30 or so minutes of cardio suck but if I go during the day I try to find a machine behind a hottie, watching her tits bounce around help the time go by.
WV Booker
Saw a recent pic of Bubba..... the first thing that came to mind was wondering how Heather "does that" & who comes over to house when he's out.
John The Actor
Bubba read an email I sent him on the air today, and I gotta tell you, that guy can't read!!! he stumbled through it, and basically added and removed parts as he went. Love the show anyways! That's great.
ctbubba
Still going strong at the gym since the day after x-mas. Muscles are feeling great, endurance is way up and I"m even sleeping better. I've only dropped just under 10lbs, I probably would have lost more than 20 but I'm still smashing the junk food every night.
pdxsirius
i think taking a second radio gig was the worse thing he could have done for his weight. it's tough to make yourself workout when you're wiped out. and he'll be looking for quick meals which equals fast food. let's hope his new gym helps when it gets done. learn how to work (out and lose weight), kid.
jimmyritt33
I think if anything there will be a better chance at getting back down to his low weight. I believe that having a second on air shift will allow for less time to eat and it will also keep his metabolism going. At the auto show you could tell he was wearing his "loose clothes" because of his recent weight gain. But if there is a determined guy it's Bubba.

I was 5'9" 145# throughout high school. Skinny, but I had some muscle. I gained a few pounds after HS but within reason. Skip to 14 years later and I weigh 180#. For me, I am 15# overweight but by no means am I a fat fuck. This is by choice though. For example today I had fruit smoothie for breakfast. 4 oz frozen fruit, ice, 1/2 cup of milk, 1 banana, and 2 eggs. I had 1/2 a cheeseburger and fries for lunch and a small portion of chicken and rice for dinner. Mix in a few beers and cocktails and I would put my caloric intake at around 2500.

I am trying to get back on an exercise routine but I would guess that if you ate what I ate, you would lose weight. Everyone is different. I have friends who pack on muscle (I cant) and I envy them. I have friends who pack on fat. The choices are obvious though. I dont "graze", eat sweets, nor do I splurge on anything other than protein dense foods (Steak). I eat fast food maybe twice a month.

I would bet that if you ate what I ate. You would lose weight.

Yeah, it's definately worth it. I made some comments during that first few times to the gym when ya can't even lift your arms up or move without feeling that incredable tightness and soreness. Now I get that nice burn and really feel much better. A buddy of mine stopped by yesterday and I haven't seen him in months commented and said, "dude, are you working out?" He's a gym rat, 5 days a week, all kinds of suppliments and that coming from him made me feel like, yeah, at least it's noticeable.

The way you lost your weight is the reason you gained it back, Ive lost 83 lbs in 5 months. I watch my calories everyday and keep a journal of what I eat. Exercise even if its only for 30 minutes every other day.
All Bubba does is talk about losing weight and exercising as hes shoving a stacker down his throat. Im getting sick of hearing him whine about being fat. Its getting old.

I've been hitting the gym for about 5 weeks, 4 times a week and it's going well. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried the supliments the Dr. Mark is pushing from the Bubba show and if so, what ones you've tried. I"ve never got into supliments or protein bars etc but was thinking about it.

Hey man, Kudos for keeping up with your routine.:bigclap:

I started taking the fatburner+ about 3 weeks ago. I have also cut out a lot of the bad food that I would eat at work for lunch, replaced by salads.

I used to workout a lot but over the years I have not been as active. I am 39 and weigh, as of this morning 187 down from about 197. When I was in my best shape I was about 180 and bench pressing 325. I was never much into cardio and didn't work out my full body, never big on working legs. MOstly Arms chest and shoulders.

I play beach volleyball during the summer and usually get back down to around 180 every year....It is the best workout I can do without losing interest. Ever winter I gain about 20lbs and every year it gets harder to lose it again before the season starts.

I have an elliptical machine and a versa climber in my basement that get used alot between Jan and April until it gets warm enough to go for bike rides.

OK that's the background.

I think I probably could have lost the same amount of weight with the diet change so whatever happens from here on will be the real results in my opinion. The first 10 lbs always comes off easier than the rest.

What I think I am getting out of the product is appetite control. I am not bingeing at night like I usually do and I am less hungry and eating less at my meal times. I occasionally post updates in the daily threads when the mood hits me or someone asks a question about the product.

I will reorder at least one more bottle and see how it goes. It makes my poop smell like plastic:dontknow:

:D

I can't compare them to much but they are big and not easy to swallow. You take two every morning. They are smaller than the chondroitin-glucosamine tablets that I have....those were too big for me to deal with.
ctbubba
Thanks for the advice goodfella, you seem to have a fairly good metabolism. I've been as heavy as 330 and been as tight as 180 to 185. I've got a doctors apt in Feb., I got diagnosed like a year ago as a borderline diabetic, I"m not on any medication but get my bloodwork done every 3 months to check my levals and so far I've been borderline. Hopefully working out has helped that. I"m also going to have my testosterone and thyroid checked to see if those numbers are good then think about getting on some fat burner/lean muscle bulder suppliment. Funny how you mentioned legs, I haven't worked on my legs until today, the reason I got back to the gym was my MRI results, this doctor wanted to fuse my L4 and L5 dics but screw that, I just turned 40, I ride my Harley about 15K a year and don't want any screwed up surgery to mess that up.
ctbubba
Some days I just can't figure out weight loss. I"ve been at it working about 6-7 hours a week in the gym, I got on the scale, now in total I"ve only lost 5 lbs. Clothes fit much looser, maybe I'm tightening up the shit I got :D

Hey Ct, I would not try any supplements as of right now but this is just my opinion. As of right now you said that you were 330, trust me in the fact that if you cut your calories, hit the cardio for 30-45 minutes a day, and get a proper weight training routines you can lose a lot of weight. Im pretty sure many people that know what they are talking about would agree.

Instead of eating that double cheeseburger, replace that with a salad. I know its hard but that is how its done. Eat slower, reduce the size of your meals, drink lots of water(no soda).

I'm actually at about 250 right now. I've been as heavy as 330 but that was a few years back. I'm doing about 30 mintues of cardio 5 times a week. I drink diet soda but have heard that hampers weight loss too so maybe I'll cut that out all together. My wife is itilian so I do get too many carbs with her cooking, lol

I think Bubba just may have given it away with Howard on Tuesday.

Howard asked what would happen if he lost 150 pounds. Bubba responded by asking Brent what he would look like at 180 pounds.

Maybe Bubba weighs 330 pounds, but I think he's under it.

Ya diet soda is much better than regular soda in regards to calorie intake. The thing about diet soda is that is has crazy amounts of sodium. Sodium holds water so, when your intake of sodium is high you tend to obtain some water, thus not losing weight

I think bubba just about looks 330 if not 350. The latest pics of him on btls.com when he's doing some powerwashing etc I think put him about that. I know what I looked like at 330 and we're about the same height, 5'11 or so. It must be hard with two shows to do, just about enough time to regroup, maybe have some lunch and grab a nap between the morning and afternoon show. Some people might say it gives him less time to eat but it could lead to shitty eating too and no time to train.

Bubba was real big at one time and lost a shit load of weight. who cares if he puts on a few pounds after losing almost half of what he was. I am sure he is catching hell from his doctor as I am mine. Hell I am over 40 meself and it ain't easy to lose the weight when yha get older. I have been at 320 something for the past decade.

anybody know how much muscle weight you can possibly gain in just under 2 months? I've been at the gym thing for nearly 2 months. I do about 2 hours of cardio a week and spend about 5 or more hours hitting the weights. I feel great, clothes fit looser, almost down to a 38 waste from a tight fitting 40 but really have only lost 5lbs. It's nice seeing the veins in my forearms, how tight my muscles are getting but frustrating that I"m not dropping much weight.

I"m glad to see bubba has been hitting the gym again, I feel like I'm not busting my ass alone. I just checked my workout log, I've hit the gym 51 times since the day after x-mas.
