Dont worry my good man Lakers wont win the division they will be behind Phoenix again... The Suns go to the Staples Center Jan 17, lets see what happens .. Bring this thread back to life next Thurs... The Lakers still have alot of season to play they will make the playoffs but lose first round.. and if they make it out 1st round they will eventually lose to Phoenix.. :D |

Except the time Kobe made two of the most difficult 3 pointers in buzzer beating history in the same game to not only beat the Blazers , but to win the Pacific division!!!

I'm a huge Lakers fan and of course am rooting for them. But, i too would be surprised if they make it to the Finals. With that being said, the Lakers have amazingly put themselves in a position to be dominant for at least the next three-four years. Also, I think they could beat S.A in a seven game series if they have hiomecourt advantage. We'll have to wait and see. Playoffs are going to be great. |

Where were Pau Gasol , and Trevor Ariza those 2 games???
And for the record that home game when both teams agreed to wear those Throw-back G-string T-Back butt hugger shorts only for Boston to back out last second , doesn't count......
Those were a major distraction to the Lakers , they might as well of played butt naked!!! |

So your saying that if the Lakers get Bynam (a 21 yr old with a gimpy knee) and Gasol(a guy with injurys and who has never won a playoff game) the Lakers will win the championship? Kobe needed Shaq to win those championships and Gasol and Odom and a gimpy Bynum are no Shaq. At least for this year. Maybe in a year or so but no way this year. |

As a huge Suns fan I have seen this many times .. Looks like Kobe isnt gonna get the MVP .. While I disagree with you about Kobe not being the leading candidate that's not what he plays for, nor is it what we as Laker fans care much about.....
Laker fans care about one thing and one thing only , and that's adding # 15 to the trophy case......
If Kobe wins the MVP award in the process, good for him.... |

I just think Chris Paul deserves it more .. Put Kobe on the Hornets and i don't think they would be in 1st place in the west.. | I think the thing is Kobe is more valuable to his team, but Paul is less valuable to a better team. As much as I hate the Lakers I can at least see that Kobe is more to his team then Paul is. Paul should still win because his team is better and he is the most valuable member of them. |

Also let's not forget that Kobe is an all defensive 1st teamer and the best defender in basketball not named Bruce Bowen.... If all Kobe had to focus on was defense and spotting up for the occasional 3 pointer he'd be the best in the league bar none...

I agree with Boozer Kobe plays at MVP level every year like I said before he is the best player on the Planet , I just like what Chris Paul is doing for the Hornets especially in a crazy and tough Western Conf, as for the Suns yeah Boozer makes a good point but from my view Shaq is putting up double double numbers just like Shawn was and like he said Amare isnt the greatest defender so it allows him to match up against easier guys.. |
