I use Replay AV to do all my streaming and my capturing.

To prepare for Mr Sponge's 1/8/08 FM debut, I wanted to make sure I could cap the stream. I first tried theboneonline's stream, and I could not get that to properly stream in Replay AV. So, I used the Replay AV media guide, and did a search for, WFYV, Bubba's Jacksonville station (http://rock105i.com/), it found it, I added it to my Replay AV and capped 30 seconds, and bam, it played back perfectly.

So, if anyone is interested in archiving, Bubba's Sirius show, and his FM show, it can be done.

Peace

BUbba was purposefully evasive on answering this question when people have called in.
I the interest of keeping the Sirius Suits happy, maybe we should view this post, note the iggy, but not post in the thread. K5 it for Bubba's sake.

how do you record it using replay av i tried it with my sirius account but i couldnt schedule it to record at certain times cuz it wouldnt log in my name and password for me when the scheduled time came. and when i would set it up manualy i had to be at the computer the whole time or my stream would stop
wwfguy2000
To cap the Sirius Stream with Replay AV, you need to have it set to What U are hearing. That way, whatever come's through your computer's sound card will be captured.

Also, I use Stream_On to listen to the Sirius feed, and not the actual Sirius website

i just dowmloaded stream on and it keeps saying unable to retrieve initial token check your internet connection. any advice? i;m using a laptop with a wireless connection

Nice find !? NJ :D

Are there any free stream recorders out there that us non tech guys can try for free.
tuff bob
What we don't know is if the FM contract specifies that they have to "black out" Bubba on the online stream (to protect Howard?)

if you go to downloads.com you can get Cowon Jetaudio. you can record whatever audio is playing on your computer but the unregistered version records it into a WAV file and not an MP3.

I get the exact same error message. Ever figure it out?
Chob
Just keep in mind you can also stream The Bone at www.theboneonline.com. I know someone that is setting up one of their computers to record the stream from 6-10 every day Bubba is on.

What version of WMP are you using? I've got WMP11 installed and I believe that WPM10 is required instead. I wonder if that's the problem.
wwfguy2000
Right, but it's easier to use Rock 105's stream as you can just cap that in Replay AV then it is to use the bones.
jmp1973
Well, I rolled back to WMP10 and I still get the same error message. I am also using a laptop with a wireless connection.

I use FREE Hi-Q Recorder to record Howard and Bubba on 101 every day from my xact visor radio. The free version won't let you schedule, but it records as mp3. I just start it recording before I go to work, then the next day I fast forward to the start of the show. I tested it with theboneonline.com and it worked fine.
vajuggalo05
i'm also using wmp 10 let me know if any of you guys figure it out. i might try and install it on my desk top and see if that works. does any one know how to save the videos on bubba raw so i can put them on a dvd

I have it and I haven't had good luck with Replay.

I'm not really interested in a censored Bubba. I'll wait for 3 for the good show.
jmp1973
I reinstalled the application and now it works fine. Make sure you get the most current version.

That's understandable but aren't you a bit curious to hear how the show will sound on terrestrial radio?
vajuggalo05

WMP11 will work with stream_on, make sure you installed version 1.4.2.0, also stream_on requires that you have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installed as well.
jmp1973
I rolled back WMP11 to WMP10 and reinstalled the version 1.4.2.0 and it worked.

Make sure you are using the most current version. I had an old version for my first download because the link on the siriusbackstage forum was old. Here is the new download link: http://streamon.siriusdev.org/strea...4.2%20Setup.zip

its workin great now thanks. if i use replay av or Cowon Jetaudiov can i schedule it to record bubba at 3 or do i have to be home to do it my self?

Thanks for all the good info :D

Bubbas main competition he is going to shred......"MJ".......his stations site has an "on demand" section where you can download the podcast daily.

I'd hope the bone would consider this if possible. Bubba has a large national following, and is missing the boat on advertising dollars if they pass on the idea.

I certainly hope so. Maybe you can get it as part of a Bubba Raw subscription.

I'm stoked about this. To be honest with you, I fully expect somebody to have this show MP3'd, and I'll be listening to the Bubba Morning Show every weekend on my iPod.

I am curious, and I'll probably listen when Howard isn't live. By the way, I grew up in Troy. Howdy neighbor :hw:

Whats the over/under on how far into the first show those websites crash harder than Artie at 10:45AM on cupcake Wed? They will have 1000 times more traffic than normal that day.

I certinally do, I will probably be streaming for a bit during work..I think its going to feel a little like Howard's first morning on Sirius :)
mkriss5681
My plan is...

6am-12pm Howard
12pm-3pm Bubba's morning show (recorded and hopefully I can knock off an hour by skipping commercials)
3pm-7pm Bubba on H101
BCStel
^^^ I am not that hardcore ;) I just listen to Howard on the way to work..and Bubba on the way home and sometimes during work...that is dedication though.

You'll probably knock off more like 1.5-2 hrs of skipped commercials.
Testicle radio sucks major ass when it comes to commercial time vs air time.

Yup....15+ minutes every 30 minutes...that is what it is in boston AM sports  so just imagine Bubba's show
STEVE442
Why would you even want to listen to Bubba on FM radio after hearing him on Sirius, I don't get it.
wwfguy2000
Just to hear a different show
mrnormserling
Thank you wwfguy2000, I followed your instructions for Replay AV and it works great! I'm looking forward to the boys being back Monday on Sirius and to see what the show sounds like under FCC control. Freedom is great, but sometimes getting around the rules can be very entertaining.

And when will you find time to work?

I seriously want to get a different job, one which would enable me to listen to Bubba and Howard all day.

Did anyone else notice that on Replay AV's website, the "easy to Use" image shows them clicking on Sirius 101???

Kinda neat!

All I'm getting are a bunch of songs. Is his show not on the net?

Does Stream_On have the inactivity message like the Sirius online player does?? Anyone know how to avoid that message especially if you are recording a show?

Found it. I also have replay av8. My problem is that my stream will time out after after 90 mins with Sirius. So now I have to divide it up into 3 segments and I'll lose a minute of the broadcast. Luckily today they had commercials at the right time.
Hopefully I won't have the same problem with 105's stream. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. :dontknow:

Here's a vote for Total Recorder Pro ... I used that to record the Jacksonville stream today - it missed the first 6 mins due to connection issues but otherwise I got a nice mp3 transcoded file and am streaming it now. :D

I use my Moto Q cell phone's data package to listen the Sirius internet feed and wanted to do the same for Bubba's station in Tampa. Connecting to the Tampa station website through the mobile device to "listen live" would not work at all.

After some digging I found a direct link that works great with the mobile devices, so if anyone is interested here is the link: www.streamaudio.com/listen?station=WHPT_FM. Enter the link into your browser and it should automatically launch your default audio player and start playing. Save the address to your internet favorites and it is just a click or two to listen to Bubba live in Tampa.

The streamaudio.com site lists tons of other stations they stream online. To access any of those, replace the call letters in the link above with the other stations letters and it should work.
