I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but with the multitude of people that have been asking me privately if I'd heard from Zeke... and having not heard from him in some time myself... I figured I'd better try to find out what was going on...
On October 5th after fighting valiantly against cancer and a year of attempting to ward off walking pneumonia Zeke passed away...
Zeke was an extremely good friend... a father figure... and integral part of helping to define what it meant to be a "Darksider"... he will be missed...
Rest In Peace Brother... see you on The Darkside...

He has helped me out numerous times. He will be greatly missed here and "Other Places".

Zeke will definitely be missed!!! He was such a great friend!! Always had a listening ear when someone needed to talk.

Rest In Peace, My Friend
The proper words escape me to hear of such tragic news around what should be a joyous time of the year. Zeke is someone I considered a confidant and a friend, although miles and virtual anonymity are what kept us apart. Not only was he someone who gave of what he had to those of us as Bubba fans, he was a man who defended this country long before many of us were even a thought (Vietnam). So for those of us who knew you in some facet, good or bad, I thank you for not only being a friend but also someone who put his life on the line so that I can enjoy the life that I have today. You are and will be missed, my friend. |

I've been thinking of Zeke quite a bit lately for some reason, wondeing where he has been, I am saddened by this news. To me, it is better to know he has passed and found peace, than to always wonder about Brother Zeke and how he is doing.

Awwwww SHIT brotha Zeke!!! Man I used to have a blast yapping back and forth with you in the Hawg Heads Bar thread...... I can very clearly remember Zeke and I getting into it over one stupid picture a long long time ago. Every time I posted it he would drop bomb pics on me... so I quit posting pics of the woman born to my true heart and interests. And since then she has sat in my archives at his request.
Zeke was a behind the scenes guy most of the time, but usually always there to drop the hammer for the best interest of the " True 1% ers".... and to even know what it means.
Just like the countless others that have wondered where he has been including I, knowing that he had fallen sick a while back, it kind of lays my heart to rest knowing that the guy fought many battles but in the end HE has won. Zeke THANK YOU for your service to our great USA. Zeke thank you for your friendship and for listening. We wish that you were here to grant one more Merry Christmas. God Speed old buddy, I hope you finally have your wings and can fly.

I can't say I've ever talked to/with Mr Zeke, but from the looks of it, he was a great man. On top of that, he was a 1%er. Musta been a great guy.

I just found out today via email, I am deeply saddened. Zeke and jlohlinger were the first guys that really made me feel welcome here. I have talked to Zeke many times on the phone, and emailed back and forth with some regularity. he was a kind soul, and quick to offer "iggies" whenever he could.
his last email to me is dated September 28th, and ironically the header is titled "DEADER THAN DEAD". I knew he was in poor health, but not once did he ever mention how bad things were, always offering kind words of enlightenment and encouragement.
you will truly be missed by this northern Alberta Darksider, thanks for being a great guy and Godspeed to you my friend.....
