The show is back live!!! What are the hot topics?
Our guests are Lori, Don Jameson, & Zolar. I need 1 more still.
- Artie breaks his "FAG" ban 5 minutes into the first show of 2008.
- Artie working without a contract
- Robin & Jim heating up. They spent new years eve together & vacationed in Florida.
- Levy eats ass & the proposes on stage. The wedding is already set for Vegas.
Bronkasonic
- Benjy dumps Ivy but still wants to bang her. Who dumped who?
- Would they still be together if the show hadn't gone on a 2 week break?
- is the breakup all part of the storyline?
- Fred cursing on HOHS, Howard and others cursing too much on Sirius,
too much foul language?
invitations
- Do people invite Howard to their event (bar mitzvah, wedding)
because they want him there, they don't want to get yelled at, or do
they just want the check?
- How passive-aggressive is Artie for asking why he's not invited to
these events, then gets an invite, only to blow it off? What's the
right move?
- Both Will & Jason are getting married this year. Do they invite Howard, Robing, Fred, Artie, & Gary?
Howard went to bed early on new years eve, didn't want to leave the
compound in mexico, & came home from vacation early. ....... |

UPCOMING SHOW SCHEDULE
THE SCHEDULE IS POSTED IN THE ROUNDTABLE FORUM
If you'd like to be on the show, follow the directions and let me know.
PREVIOUS SHOWS
LIST OF ALL PREVIOUS SHOWS, THE GUESTS, & THE LISTENING THREADS.
SHOW NOTES
Go straight to the super fan roundtable forum - www.TheFanShow.com
CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. once you've been around for awhile ask to be on the show and pick a date. there's a schedule posted in every brainstorming thread.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Subscriber picks for 2007:
- Were major events missed in the broadcasts?
- What would you have liked to hear?
- Was there a major event on the show that the fans just missed altogether?
- Is this type of programming effective, or would the fans prefer a completely different format to fill vacation breaks?
|

I can't do the show this week (as if I was asked).
Inviting Howard (and others from the show)
Do people invite Howard to their event (bar mitzvah, wedding) because they want him there? Or do they just want the check?
Did Benjy string along Jon Hein as shtick or because he's an asshole?
How passive-aggressive is Artie for asking why he's not invited to these events, then gets an invite, only to blow it off? |
|
|
| MrJeff2000 |
Benji and Ivy
Who dumped who? Was this inevitable?
Did this happen because they weren't on the show for 2 weeks?
Was/Is this relationship for the show (on both their parts)?
Is the "break-up" part of their "storyline" to perpetrate a soap opera for the show? |

Equating pets with babies (or homeless people) is comparing apples and oranges.
If I had to spend $10K on either an elderly family member or an elderly pet, the family member wins the money.
If I had to spend $10K on a sick child or a sick puppy, the family member wins the money.
If I was told I needed to spend $10K on an injured puppy, I'd bring the puppy to a shelter and spend $1K finding an identical - healthy puppy.
(This is why I don't have pets) |

Howard is still talking about the merger.
If the merger isn't approved, and Sirius' plan is to immediately declare bankruptcy and close up shop with no advance warning to employees or subscribers (subscribers just wake one morning to dead air), and Artie, Howard, Robin, Fred, etc. are stuck in the lobby because they are banned from entering the studio: describe the scene...who will be the first to go off the deep-end...who will go back home and go to sleep? |

I understand there is a huge difference but either way it's someone forcing their values & opinions on someone else. Don't bitch about how pro life people shouldn't giving other people shit for choosing to cancel a pregnancy or how uber religious shouldn't be concerned with gay marriage in one breath & then in another condemn someone for considering a vets option to put down a dog. you personally may have a moral problem with it but it's no different than a pro life person moral issue with abortion or the bible's stance against the gays. Sticking your nose in someone else business & telling them how to conduct their life is just as insulting to me. having the vet put down a dog is just a legal as having a doctor abort a fetus. it's just a personal moral issue and people should keep their personal morals to themselves. I have moral issues, but they are mine. I live by them and I don't expect you to.
If Scott had a sick pet fish, pot bellied pig, goat, sheep, or even a pony we wouldn't even be having this discussion. it's only becasue people love dogs. bottom line is he didn't want to give up the dog or put it down. he may have considered them becasue he's faced with several options that he doesn't like. right now he has to pick the better of several evils.
put her down
give her up
bite the bullet & put in alot of work & money
it's not an easy choice to make.
he'll have to
- drop 5 grand to fix one hip & nurse the dog for 4 months.
- drop 5 more grand for the other hip & nurse the dog for another 4 months.
right there it's already more work & expense than he currently has invested in the dog. he'll have to crate the dog for that entire time. there will be vet visits, medicine, bandages, not to mention the fact that the dog will be shitting & pissing in the house the whole time. you've have to carry the dog, bath it, & clean it's wounds. if you have little kids in the house, it's not going to be fun. it may be very hard on them to see the dog in pain gimping around. he's got alot to consider
on top of that, either operation may be rejected & need to be repeated. worse yet, it may not even be an option to try again. it's a gamble & he will probably have more health conditions down the road.
the only reason someone should take that gamble, heartache, & expense is if they love the dog. if you don't love the dog, you shouldn't be guilted into it. bottom line is it's going to be hard & there are no guaranties. if the breeder gave him the option to get another dog, he doesn't really like the dog, & the vet gave him the option to put the dog down, there's nothing wrong with him considering it as a possible option. |

Understood.
We ALMOST took in a stray dog years ago, outside Shea Stadium, before our son was born.
But I said, "We'll be on the hook for somebody else's abandoned pet. And we know nothing about this animal."
I still feel sad when I think about having to leave that dog - but it was the only choice at that point in time. |
