The Yankees and hundreds of their VIPs will get free valet parking for the next 40 years, courtesy of New York taxpayers. The startling revelation of yet another subsidy for the richest team in baseball is buried deep in the fine print of a $237 million tax-exempt bond offering that city officials quietly issued the week before Christmas. The documents say a $70 million state subsidy for parking improvements for the new Yankee Stadium (slated to open next year) has been earmarked for a new 660-car valet parking garage where virtually all the spaces will be reserved for the free, year-round use of the Yankees and their VIPs. |

I think you and the entire city wants to go to the All Star Game and the last regular season game. I expect it to be such a tough ticket.
I was actually debating with my other Mets fan friends if we will actually attend Yankee stadium again before it is demolished. As much as I hate the franchise and anything to do with it, I can not deny the history that stadium holds. I think we agreed on going to one of the Subway Series games against the Mets, and making sure we get inside one last time. Then we will do the same thing for the new stadium. One time..when they play the Mets!
Wait till NY is itching to get into Citi Field. Even Francessa and Russo were saying how amazing that place is and how NY is going to absolutely fall in love with the stadium. They said they are so many like creeks and crevises(spelling) in the stadium, with everything you can possibly imagine. You have a few of the field from everywhere, with screens just surrounding the place.
Its going to be great. Never in a million years did I think I would ever see the Mets play in a new stadium. All this talk will finally happen! I cant wait :D |

A lady I work with has connections, her father can get any ticket at cost in Jersey or NYC, he has say over all concerts, sporting events, movies, TV and so forth in Jersey. I can get you Spice Girls seats front row if you want!!! At cost.........
The lady did say that her whole family wants to go and I told her screw my family and friends, all I want is one ticket and I would even drive her whole family over!!!
If not, she said for sure the home run derby and so on the day before..... |

If this ever actually happens, every single politician who had anything to do with this needs to be removed from office. The people can not re-elect anybody who would charge $35 to park a fucking car. How come it can be done for $12 max at every other fucking city in the United States.
We pay $35 to park a car, $12 for a beer, and the players get millions to play a kids game. That parking cost might actually prohibit me from attending games. I just can not imagine it will actually happen. |

Listen to this! I worked for the Mets last summer and it was the BEST job I have ever had. The Mets have no parking lot because of the construction, so the CITY OF NEW YORK runs parking lots in the area, Corona Park etc. The city is charging people 14 dollars to park MILES away from the stadium!!! The New York Mets provided shuttle buses and official Mets employees to stand out around the lots, and help the fans. The City of New York is THE MOST greedy hateful system for bleeding money out of people that I have EVER seen. And the Mets do a VERY classy thing providing the buses and greeters. |

i can drive into the city, and get there in about 45 minutes. theres the toll over the gwb, and parking. if i take that route, i can tailgate, but getting out at the end of the game sucks balls. it literally can take a half hour just to get out of the parking lot. then i have to deal with the shit on the major deagen.
if i take the train, it cost me $20 for the ride, then a few for the subway, and it ends up taking an hour and a half to get there. getting home sucks.
this is why i only go to a few games a year. its easier to just plop on the couch and kill some beers with some friends, or go to a bar and watch the games.
nuge, my friend has a hookup who works for mlb. we've been going to opening day for almost ten years in a row. this year, im hoping we can get the all star game tix, and the last home game. |

Thats why I get there early! I park in the same spot everytime, as long as I am there by like 60 minutes before first pitch. I park at the US Open lot, near the train station right across roosevelt ave.
That way I can get out fast and get right on the highway. Fuck that shuttle bullshit. |
