| White Sox get Nick Swisher for Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Sweeney, and another minor leaguer....i think |

| for 3 prospects. They'll still suck though. Of course, that's coming from a Cubs fan. They are talking about it now on WSCR in Chicago. |

| Gio Gonzalez is a solid left handed pitching prospect. Remember the Phillies got him in the Thome trade and dealt him for Garcia and that deal went to shit. Swisher has good power, but that’s about it. The rebuilding mode in Oakland is in full effect. |

| The 3rd guy is De Lo Santos. A rookie pitcher. Right hander I believe. |

Don't get too excited. He's a career .251 hitter. |

| Why do I think that Swisher is one of those Christian nutjobs? Anybody know if this is true? I seem to remember reading somewhere that he's a big God-Squad guy. |

No swish is a party guy. He was always at the bars in walnut creek drinking and flirting with girls.
He will hit 275 with 37 hrs and 390 OBP next year.
However, the a's got two STUD pitchers and a decent OF. Williams gave us their #1 prospect. |

In that case I'm sorry to see him go. :D
Seriously, it is surprising to see him traded. He's a scrappy and likable player. But, I( do trust Billy Beane to get quality and quantity when he makes these trades. While I don't know anything about these prospects the A's got, I expect they got top value for Swisher. |

See my post above.
He is a big party guy.
Him and joe blanton were in page 6 last year for drinking in NYC |

| Beane was literally in man-love with Swisher. The two players he got for him MUST be awesome. They were actually rated as the top 2 prospects in their sytem. |

Yes, thank you for clearing this up. I'm not sure where I go that idea he was a religious nut. It never seemed to fit with the way he comes across on the field. |
