I'd say a very fair 3 year deal is doable. If he is serious about playing on a solid team, then maybe he'll resign.

I'll be shocked if Moss resigns

the Pats won't pay what he'll want(highest paid WR in League)

Samuel will want top DB cash as well--I'd say 50/50 he's gone as well

You are absolutely right in your points about Montana, Elway, and Marino. Nobody talks about Elway's SB failures because he finished by winning two. That's how QB's are judged, because they essentially are out there leading the offense, and control so much of what happens on the field.

But is is far to compare rec. based on SB rings? I'm not sure. As a rec. the # of balls you get is sometimes based on who else is on offense...who is playing opposite WR. The QB play, quality of the RB and their ability to open things up down field.

I am not discounting anything Jerry did. He defined the position and busted his ass for a long time.

It is easy to hate Moss, but the guy can kill teams and defenses playing with a good QB.

I don't disagree with you. But, if Moss has a lousy day and the Pats don't make it to (or win) the Super Bowl, then the critics will be very loud. This is his chance to prove his greatness to all the doubters. If he has a bad game and has a meltdown it'll be very bad for him. I think he knows this and will shine in the postseason. The guy is on a mission.

And Jerry Rice couldn't catch 23 TDs in 19 seasons (18 of which were 16 games) playing w/ 2 HOF QBs. :p

Randy Moss had one remarkable season. One! He has 0 Lombardi Trophies. To even try to compare him to a competitor of the caliber of Jerry Rice is Homerism at it's worst. Let's wait until 2 years from now when the Pats are in a down year. Let's see how great you think Moss is when he's talking shit about Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck as they're losing. Your tune will change.

Are you saying that Dan Marino wasn't a great player?

Marino was a great player. However, without the rings, he's not at the level of a Joe Montana, a John Elway, or a Brett Farve. Championships matter. Marino would be more at the level of a Jim Kelly, probably better, but still at around that level.

You missed my point. Rice is better. He will have a better career when you compare the two after Moss is done. He has a better attitude.

All that said, he came off like a little Dancing With The Star Bitch. Moss did something Rice never did after playing 18 seasons w/ two HOF qbs and under Bill Walsh and all he does is whine.

Ps - I've met Jerry many times. He was banging my ex girlfriend's enormously hot roommate in San Jose (they were both cheerleaders)... and he's an enormous douche. Randy may be an ass but Jerry is a clown as a human being.

not a moss fan at all, but do love when players could give a shit about individual records...

When the dust settles, Rice will be by far the better WR, end of thread
