49ers ILB Patrick Willis was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press.
"The good Lord has blessed me with skills that are uncommon," he said. Yes, He has. Willis, the No. 11 overall pick, should've went higher. He led the NFL with 173 tackles in 2007; the next closest was 33 behind. Willis also had four sacks and may already be the league's best linebacker in pursuit. He won with 48 of 50 votes. Jon Beason (Panthers) took home the other two.
Texans DE Mario Williams was named NFL Defensive Lineman of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association.
In just his second year in the league, Williams recorded 14 sacks to lead an improving Texans defense. Williams, tackle machine DeMeco Ryans, and 20-year-old Amobi Okoye compose the nucleus of a promising defensive unit.

| Williams didn't make the Pro Bowl, but wins Defensive Lineman of the Year? Haynesworth should of won it over him. |
