This should be their new park:
At least they will sell out every night...
Another example of a millionaire doing something just because he can. Why would you invest in a ballpark that less than 3000 people show up on a regular basis?? |

| I kinda Dissagree with you EFMBoss. They might still have a hard time filling all those seats |

| Yeah, they need to worry about selling tickets rather then building a new stadium. I have been to Tropicana Field a couple times and I see nothing wrong with it. |

The San Francisco Giants were in the bottom of the league in attendance every year, but after they built a new stadium in the city, on the water, they now are at the top of the league in attendance.
If you build it they will come. |

Building a new stadium will allow them to get ALL the revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, etc. they can in turn use that new revenue stream and spend it on the players, free agents. More butts will be in the seats as they win more.
Also, most all of the Rays games are played at 7PM. Last I checked, the sun is setting or set at that time. I'm excited to be out of that fucking stadium finally.
good times are a coming. |

Wouldnt it be better to sign some real talent first, whose merchandise and playing will help sell team merchandise then worry about capacity |

You can't buy young pitching and they have an abundance of young pitching about to reach the majors and they will make a run for the WS in the next 2 or 3 years. |

And until they (and if) they mature) you have nothing. And that statement isnt really true, sure they are young, and may be talented in other leagues(AAA, Japan, whatever) that doesnt mean they will succeed in the majors--for example Igawa. |

I am exaggerating, nonetheless they are going to finally have an above average rotation to go along with their very good lineup, and they will start to compete competitively with the sox and the yankees over the next few years |

The Rays farm system was voted the best in baseball recently. The Red Sox were 2nd and the Yankees 5th (that may change if one of them deal the farm for Santana). The thing is the new stadium could in fact help the team, but they will left with a tough choice with this talent. Deal it off for a big player or let it develop. The other big question - will they spend the money to keep a guy like Kazmir when he goes into free agency?
I'm a red sox fan and I dont know so any rays fans help me - How long is Crawford signed through? There's another guy who's gonna be looking for a payday. |

| I think as the revenue starts to come in, and their team becomes more competitive, they will pay the money to keep Carl Crawford. I wouldn't be surprised if they signed Kazmir to an extension and get him to sign for less money, because he is not going to be an unrestricted free agent for another 3 years, so now is the time to sign him to an extension. |

| The design looks real nice, but I don't see a chance in hell it gets built at this time. Too many local goverment contributions required. Maybe in a few years if the Rays can win a division or 2 they might have enough juice to pull it off. |
