Shit, I have to admit I liked him early on. But the dude just couldn't/wouldn't get it going or get things energized. Oh well.

We have one fucked up process for electing a President of this country.
There is nothing really else to say. |

This was the first republican candidate to turn me off this election cycle. I am glad he is gone. This seemed to be a candidate that Rush liked. I will tune in every now and then to see what is new in Rush world and he would talk favorably of Fred compared to McCain and Huckabee.
This is pleasent news :) |

Fred Thompson is a strong, consistant Conservative and was good to have in the race. I'm sorry to see him go, but he started too late and when he did announce he didn't seem to have the energy required to keep up with a front-loaded primary season. I don't know if it's a health issue or what, but he wasn't doing what is necessary to be compeditive. |

Apparently he was. I also happened to see him in his Naval role in the movie Hunt for Red October. A semi better actor than Presidential candidate. Kind of a dullard guy. |

Fred was the neo con candidate. A lobbyist from K street who Nixon referred to as, "not too bright, doesn't like to work too hard."
He certainly wasn't interested in the long campaign. Nothing more than a yearning for Reagan even brought that guy into consideration.
Next, I look forward to the facist Giuliani dropping out like the shit squirt that he is. |

He was pathetic and he did not have any grasp of any of the issues. His last speech was incomprehensible. He was a joke from the very beginning to the underwhelming end. |

I agree, Thompson's campaign was a sad joke. There must be some reason he ran, some advantage, some tactic, something for God's sake besides the lack-luster, half-assed effort he managed.
I mean if he somehow gets to pocket a million in campaign donation's, that would at least explain this bizarreness. |

You might be right. Fred did take it easy and probably had a lot a fun during the campaign. He sure as hell didn't wear himself out. Maybe he did want to show his wife what it was like to be a big wheel politico. Ponderous. |
