Because the NHL already scoffed at ESPN's valuation of the NHL contract when they left for OLN ...
If the NHL is with NBC ...
ESPN won't lift a finger to seal that deal ...
My point:
even if the possibility isn't prohibited ...
It makes it a really hard sell ...

From what I've been hearing on 186, there's room in the contract for a side deal with ESPN, one would figure for Friday games or something...
And NBC is so horrible, I expect they won't be renewed.
Let's hope....

Was the lock-in with NBC a part of the OLN/VS deal tho' ?
I thought that's what "sold it" ...
specifically, that the NBC games would be carried on a regular (weekend) basis and DirecTV could keep the package deals ...
I could be wrong and hope you're right ...
