Seriously, get a fucking clue. As a Pats fan, I would never guarantee a win and I realize that it's football and anybody could win any given game, but you New Yorkers are embarrassing yourselves. In 2001 I wanted my underdog Pats to win and I really felt they had I shot, but I didn't mouth off like so many of you clown fans. I'm amazed at the balls of the NY fans and the team (Osi and Plaxico taking verbal shots at New England). You can make an argument that this Giants team is the worst Super Bowl team of all time. NY scored 373 points the regular season, N.E. scored 589. NY held opponents to 351 points and N.E. held them to 274. The Patriots had a turnover margin of +16, New York was - 9. New York is pinning their hopes on winning 3 NFC road games and the fact that they led N.E. by 12 during the regular season. Guess what...the NFC is a joke and the Patriots BEAT the Giants while missing 2 starting O Linemen (and Matt Light played hurt) who will be healthy next week.
New England could lose to New York, but Jesus, they SHOULD be a huge favorite and I am shocked at New York's arogant attitude. In case you haven't noticed, Boston OWNS the sports world this decade and nobody from NY should be running their mouths. From Ferrall, to the crappy NY papers, to half the morons in the NY media, everyone is telling us the Giants are a team of destiny (and ripping Brady - not smart). Get a clue, you're lucky you got this far. Everyone knows that Dallas was a better team and so was Green Bay (yes New York did play better on gameday and deserved to win). But you should realize Pats don't talk big, they play big. I can't wait 'til next Sunday. |

Your entire city and all your sports teams except the celtics have sucked the last 100 years. no one gave a flying fuck about the pats. the only team boston consistently cares about is the red sox. Pats had no fans you bunch of bandwagoners. So please shut the fuck up and enjoy the ride while its going good. |

I'm a Redskins fan and we've been out of it for about three weeks now. Danny-Boy is in the process of screwing over the franchise for about the 5th time. I just hope the Giants play the Pats as tough as they did the final game of the season. |

It's football, anybody can win any given day...it's not a best of seven series, I get that. But the giants should be a major underdog if you look at it objectively and I find it funny how mouthy you clowns are being. I lived in NY for 7 years and loved it, but you guys are just a little too jealous of Boston sports I guess. Hang in there pals, it might get better next decade. :jj: |

You're right, nobody cares.
In 2001 the Patriots were big underdogs for good reason. I remember thinking they could win if they got some breaks and played really well, but wasn't such a homer to think they were a lock to win. I've missed less than 4 or 5 games the past 20 years (either on TV or at Foxborough) but I still thought the rams were the better team on paper and I knew that they had beat the Pats earlier in the year. I believed in my team but wasn't overly confident.
The point of the thread was to say that I'm just amazed at how obnoxiously arrogant the giants fans and media have become in the past few weeks. A couple of months ago they wanted the coach fired and Eli hung from the crossbars. Now, the two are the reincarnation of Lombardi and Starr...I find it funny, that is all :) |

You can partly thank Mike Martz for that Super Bowl. Still haven't seen a guy outcoached that bad in a long time... hey I have the best RB in the league, let's give him the ball 17 times... that should be good enough... eisch |

Putting a stadium on the West Side of Manhattan would have been the worst idea possible.
Complete waste of taxpayers $$ and valuable land. I am glad Dolan got that shit knocked out.
I am just waiting for him to put the pressure on the Nets. Because as I said, the Nets will never play a game in Brooklyn. At least not while Dolan is alive. |

I don't know much about basketball. However, my brother is a broadcaster in Brooklyn. That Nets deal in Brooklyn is a done deal. I am not sure that Dolan is against that.

It is going to happen. | They claim its a done deal. Meanwhile they have yet to even put a shovel in the soil to build a stadium.
Also, the move was never approved by the NBA. The NBA owners must approve any move for any franchise. My guess is thats where Dolan will step in. He will get the owners to block the move. No way is he going to let this go down. As I said, unless he is dead. |

:rolleye2: There's not one piece of open land in the state of New York that a stadium could've been constructed?
And give me a break about the logistics of NYC. If the Yankees can do it, 82 times a year, then having 16 home games between the Jets and Giants should be a cakewalk, genius. |

There is plenty of spots in Queens and out here in Suffolk County that has enough acres to house a stadium.
Jets and Giants just dont want those spots. |

We can disagree on this. My brother told me that the NJ Nets are doing promotions in Brooklyn. It sounds like a done deal. They can build an arena pretty fast. You are right that it has to be approved. I would think the NBA wants another team in NYC compared to NJ. What do I know I don't care for basketball. |

Gee, think that may have had something to do with the fact that Yankee stadium has been around for a short spell?
Holy shit some people are a bit dense. And why go to all the trouble to relocate a stadium miles and miles up north away from the city when East Rutherford is very close to Manhattan in wide open land? Just for the sake of saying it's in NY? Big fucking deal. |

There is more then enough space in and around flushing. I forgot about the Belmont area but that is another solid spot also. Trust me, there are plenty of spots. But they did not want Queens, they wanted a Manhattan zip code. It would have made the franchise worth 10 fold. |

I found this article in a NY paper today. There are already talks of the project falling apart. Trust me, the Nets are a LONG way from playing a game in Brooklyn.
Again, Dolan is not a moron. He is not letting somebody move into his backyard and diminish the value of his franchise and property without a big time fight.

Johnni, you missed the whole point. The Patriots fans are mouthy...right or wrong it's becuase their team is 18-0 with a record breaking offense. By no means do I think the Pats are a guarantee but the line is double digits for a reason.
My entire point is that I am shocked at how mouthy giants fans have become when a month and a half ago they were just hoping to make the playoffs and everyone wanted their coach fired and the qb killed. Those are the facts. The giants are in a very similar position to the Pats of 2001 and trust me, the team, the fanbase and local media was no way near as obnoxious. And I'm the HOMER? |

Lucky they got the refs call to make their first SB (Oakland game no call on the fumble),
Lucky to not get caught cheating against the Rams back then,

Lucky Brady didn't get killed when the Giants D made them into little bitches. :D |
