| :( So, anyone hear any buzz on the commercials this year? I hope they're good, because isn't this game really all about the commercials. :( |

| It's going to be a rough day but 10 years ago who thought NE would ever win a single SB lt alone 4? Pitt was an awful franchise prior to the 70s, SF was awful prior to the 80s, the Giants once went 18 years w/o a postseason appearance and wer so bad the league stepped in to help them. We were awful this year but we've been pretty good or better for a decade. At some point we'll win, when that is I have no idea- I just hope I'm alive to see it. |

Support from non-SFN supporters. Mutt would be a rich man if nuge decided to beg for supporter status for all his mults. |

It's easy to crow now Pats fans but it wasn't long ago when Foxboro Stadium was empty, in 2000 I was there for a game and the "great" Pat fans didn't care about the game for a second but now of course they have the best fans in the World, 90% of that Stadium wouldn't have a clue who Ronnie Lippett was(and how to pronounce his name) or Don Blackmon, Roland James, Stephen Starring, Tommy Hodson,...
The REAL pat fans would remember what it was like to be the laughingstock of the league, the Lisa Olsen incident, Irving Fryar getting stabbed by his wife, going 2-14 and 1-15 and the REAL Pat fans would have some sympathy but the trashtalking frontrunners who have no clue of NE's past are what we are stuck w/. |

You are right, then maybe the Pat fans wouldn't have invaded the thread. |

| You got me, you exposed my snoopyrules mult who hardly ever posts in sports. To keep the charade going, most of my posts are in politics. I guess I should just be honest and post as Nuge. So, that's what I'm going to do. |

That is the theme with any team sports. When the team is winning, more and more people will step out and be a part of the action. It's not just the Pats fans.
And btw, I grew up in S.E. CT and remember very well the late 80's and early 90 era. The Rod Rust, Dick MacPherson, Victor Kiam, and even post Parcells era with Pete Carroll. |

I know that, I just always find it's the vocal fans that are the ones who weren't around in the bad days. I am sure there are a bunch of you guys who were around and were watching every game but I guarantee alot weren't and didn't go through those hard times. Going through hard times makes the winning even sweeter. Some day when it happens for the Jets I'll appreciate it alot more than someone who starts following them around the time they win. |

Luckily I never had to worry about that, I started following the Jets in the early 80s and the last non-sellout was '77 or '78 so they were always on TV and since the '90s I have been at every home game. Was there a bar or somewhere you could drive to watch the games? That would have driven me nuts if I couldn't see the games. |

my buddies club had satellite back then but i was underage to drink.
it was funny too because when the networks went to commercial , the satellite
would stay on the field , no commercials and you'd see some stuff you wouldnt
see on national tv. |
