Hey Boys -

I have listened to your show for awhile and I have appreciated that you are one of the few shows on HS100/101 that doesn't connect itself to HS every minute. You guys do a great job and your show is often entertaining though I wouldn't work for free and I'm an English teacher!

You are pretty new to the radio hosting game, and your show is evolving. It improves (generally) every week, but yet I would hope you could heed a little advice from a lowly subscriber. And perhaps other have suggestions too. Here are mine:

1) You have 4+ talkative hosts. You need to work out something so you don't all talk over each other all the time. On the last Ferrel show cover you did I almost turned it off because this was terrible. Last time during Bob's news I could barely hear him. Someone should control the show better.

2) The sound effects are often annoying. I know not everyone can be Fred. But they are: too many, too loud, and often make no sense. Have your SFX person listen to Fred and relax more. It's ok not to work all the time.

3) Not everything is funny. You guys laugh so much at everything everybody says that it sounds fake. You have some good laughs indeed, but try to understand that a good piece of art still has empty or solid parts of the canvas. Relax and laugh when appropriate. Silence can be golden. Not everything needs a comment either.

4) Get more features - like Bob's news & Bob speaks. These are funny, and they are a little tired. You should think about some more interesting things perhaps involving callers or maybe Al's great voices.

5) Develop your own interesting characters - don't borrow them from the HS show. Really develop your show and the people there. If you want to have 'wack packers' per se, then go out and find some of your own. You are creative people, don't borrow. Also, with Al can't you get some great characters out of him? Isn't that his specialty?

6) Rarely, if ever bring up the Stern show unless really necessary. It happens on these channels almost every day with every program. Try to be original.

7) One topic per show doesn't cut it! Try to shift your topic to a few different things every show.

8) Stop making the callers most of the show. You guys are interesting - often your callers aren't. Don't depend too much on them to be funny when you are all four comedians.

9) Record some bits! The song parodies are generally great though sometimes a little forced. But, you can do more with this! Think about skits about current politics. How about a political debate with Bob? There are many ideas if you look around a little.

10) Maybe have a guest - as long as you'll let them speak and have one host to direct questions.

Look.. As I said. I am simply a lowly listener, but I do know good radio. I know what shows have something special and yours does. It just needs some fine tuning. You can read this or not. Ignore this or not. But, my advice may be useful and we'd all love to hear you more! So, perhaps this advice could help you get a longer show and even get paid!

And that'd be awesome! All further comments are welcome. Hope I didn't offend. :D

I'm going to disagree with pretty much everything. The main one is the sound effects. Not sure if you're referring to the Mon/Tues show they did or their regular Sunday show because I know that the Sunday show doesnt have much for sound effects. However, the guys(not sure if it's Lou or Nobu) on Ferrall's show do quite a bit of sound effects but that's how his show is.

If the show's so perfect now, why are you the only one disagreeing? Or better yet, why have so few people even read or posted anything..

Perhaps it ain't very popular.. Yes, indeed the Ferrel show was the worst with the sound effects, but how many time have you heard Bob puke? Their SFX person is no Fred indeed..

If the show is so perfect, then why aren't they getting paid? Or on another station who has some money?

Stick to being an "English teacher".

Here's an idea.

Get your own radio show with 4 people and no budget and see what you come up with.

What is with people always trying to change a working formula?

Here's a suggestion to the Miz Men.

Take no shit, and take no advice. :D

Tell your 4 years olds:

1.) Don't talk over each other.

2.) Their sound effects are annoying.

3.) One rainbow & cloud drawing DOESN'T CUT IT!

You are a teacher, so what qualifies you to tell someone how to run a radio show? You say they are new to radio, and then give them suggestions as if you know anything about radio yourself.

Just go back to teaching 4 year olds. MM is fine.

i agree 100%, i've sent them an email too about it. sounds like a fucking morning zoo with people talking & laughing over each other. sometimes it sounds like 2 shows are going on at the same time. They need to relax, listen to each other for cues to step in. forget the sound effects, they suck. Let bob read without any other audio. it's more fun if we get to hear bob frak up the words, and not tons of laughter droning over it.

I enjoyed the show until they started their website war shit with sfn - and the rest is history (AGAIN). At that point I lost all respect (?) for Bob and the crew, and I hardly listen anymore.

I used to look forward to that show as my weekend night-cap, but I got so tired of the bullshit, it's no longer fun or funny.

Same thing for me. I haven't listened or cared to listen to their show since the war began.
