I'm pretty sure it's Charter. I have them too and I have had to contact either HTV or Charter to get my updates since the begining of the year. It really sucks. :mad:
I'm going to have to cancel if this keeps up. I don't have time to call someone every 2 weeks to get the updates. |

| Charter is the worst. I got tired of unplugging the cable box to reset it. One time I even tried cancelling Howard TV and then reordering it to get the new shows to load and that didn't even work. The only thing that worked was when there was a tornado (no, I'm not kidding) and the power went out for hours. When the power came back on...poof, all the shows were there. If you bitch to Charter it does no good, when you bitch to Howard TV it does no good either...they just blame it on Charter. Total chicken and the egg. |

| I have Charter as well - no new shows since the "old" shows they put up during vacation week. Plus I always have to unplug and reset my cable boxes (all three of them do this) to get updates. It's beginning to be not worth the hassle anymore. |

| So Charter Cable Guy showed up on Saturday.... checked the box and connection - he says not problem... This after I waited 4 hours for them to show up. Said he would notify the central office in Malibu 91302.... but today is Tuesday and still nothing.... Fix it. |

Well, here it is Tuesday, and still no new shows on Charter (zip 06470) for almost two weeks. This happens every couple of weeks - for a pay service, this should never happen. I don't even know who to call, because calling Charter about this is useless, and there seems to be no way to contact Howard TV other than by email that they never answer.

I finally received the daily shows and stuff today from Charter out here in western mass....but this type of shit seems to happen often with Charter. Many times I go a whole week /10 days before getting an update of the daily shows. If there is any way to get Charter "on the stick" it would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.- Not saying I would....but I would bet money that HTV has lost quite a few subscribers because of Charter. fwiw |

Charter G.M. News Story
What a crock. For those who don't want to watch, this newstory was ran in St. Louis about how the G.M. of Charter is ALL about changing the way customer service is handled. Apparently, The BBB has been innundated with complaints for years about Charter. Hard to believe, right? :rolleyes: Well, this guy gives out his personal email address and encourages people to write in with complaints and that he reads & replies to every single one each morning. :rolleyes:
Oh, the best part, "I had a little online business and two paper routes, and I really learned the lesson of customer service and the personal touch." :D
I wrote this guy Monday and nada. :mad:
So...I encourage anyone in, or around, St. Louis to write in. I see a couple of you in the sub forum. Aside from cancelling it's our best bet. :( |

| I have Charter in St. Louis and I'm having the same problem. I've never been a fan of Charter, but we keep them only because of the on demand features. If this keeps up we'll be switching to DirecTV. Charters HD channel line up sucks anyways. The Weather Channel in HD? Thanks, but no thanks. |

I have Charter as well and have noticed the same symptoms.
Ive had HTV for some time now and noticed that the shows update in waves. Yes the cable box reboot works when new shows are available but thats only if Charter updates its source for the shows. Ive gone as long as 3 weeks without a single update (after reboots and such) and then out of nowhere get a huge surge of shows.
Yes it can get annoying, but I cant bring myself to cancel the service.

I just got this email from Charter about the problem and about how they have fixed the problem:
am responding on behalf of Steve Trippe. Thanks for your note.
We have been having some problems with receiving the Howard TV shows on
a timely basis. Our network engineering group has determined the source
of the problem and has made corrections. You should now be receiving the
content according to the proper schedule. Let me know if you aren't. |
