This thread is to brainstorm topics for the 03-06-08 Super Fan Roundtable.
This weeks guests are blue2noise, rogny, MadMax, Artie Premier.
What do we need to hit this week?
EVERYTHING IS FAKE
- People constantly claim that any aspect of the show is fake. they don't believe anything. what are you passionate about insisting was fake?
( Uncle Mike, the skull call, sal & richard's prank calls, sal being so dumb, etc )
Howard TV
- Howard feels that many of his bits have been ripped off & turned into TV shows and is talking about suing Fox over "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader". Does he have a legit claim?
- What other shows are blatant rips from the show?
- Which ones have you heard him say were his that clearly are not.
( Lie Detector, American Idol, Street Smarts, The Osbournes, Are You Hot, Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader, The Reality version of Miss America Paegant )
COATAILING
- Howard was mad that Ronnie went to Vegas for Bubbapalooza. Is he aggravated / jealous / pissed off to see other people have fun while he's miserable or is he just pissed cause Ronnie should be working? Should the guy be allowed to have a good time? Is it wrong to ride Howard coat tails if it doens't hurt Howard?
- Is it more than that? Is Howard just pissed that Ronnie is hanging with Bubba & crew when he's supposed to be one of his guys?
- Similarly Bubba is pissed at Spice for stealing his friends and getting comped around town as a part of the BRN.....
MISERABLE MEN
- Miserable Men did two more 4HR weekday slots this week. Have we finally found our new Friday morning show?
IRAQ ARTIE
- If Artie misses some Stern Show to visit the troops & they decided to have someone sit in for him, WHO?
RICHARD & SAL UPSET
- The boys feel their bits aren't getting airtime & are upset that Howard isn't loving them. Will their complaining about it make it worse?
- Have you noticed less bits or songs?
- In your opinion, have the pranks dropped below par?
- Howard said it's time to retire Tabatha pisses on ETM & acted like he didn't even know the bit. Was he just fucking with Sal?
- Howard has taken a shit on a couple of Richard's songs. Is it still overly positive & Richard is just obsessing over the negative or is there really an issue?
- it sounds like it's time to bring back Sal & Richard's rejected bits. I almost feel like they could do a whole 7PM special show of just that.......
JAY THOMAS FRIDAY MORNING ON HOWARD 101 (LINK)
- It was announce that "as a favor" the Jay Thomas show will be on Howard 101 this week. It's a one time deal but appears that they are trying him out in that slot. You wanted a live Friday AM show. Does this one fill the void for you? What do you think Howard meant by "as a favor"?
- Miserable Men has been filling in for Ferrall. One could say they are being tired out as well. Should they give the Friday AM slot a shot next week?
- other than bitching that you want Howard or Bubba back on Friday AM, what other ideas do the fans have?

CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. once you've been around for awhile ask to be on the show and pick a date. there's a schedule posted in every brainstorming thread.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Also...I know this has been beaten into the ground, but there is no excuse for not having a live show EVERY weekday. Fuck MTT and Howard should have a live fill-in host anytime he goes on vacation. Thankyou for your time. |

was planning on it until i learned that it was a real report. there really was stuff found in my room. the guy who reported it didn't speak perfect english and when he said in the bed he really meant under the bed but sticking up into the bottom of the boxspring. they had to pick up the matteress & boxspring to get it out. though i knew it was impossible for a bunch of bottles to have been between the mattress & boxspring without me knowing, some shit under the bed certainly could have been there. the manager is checking the security tapes to verify that i was not the one to bring that stuff in but at this point it's mute. I was mainly upset that they were running a fake story about me. I can live with a funny misunderstanding.
I can't wait to see the video of me stumbling to the room. :) |

Like I mentioned in the Fox thread, talk about Howard's apparent claim that he is "definitely suing Fox" over the fifth grader show. I think the consensus around here is that he's blowing smoke again (when's that Porky's remake coming out again?).
I'd even like to try to call in and talk about it. In a roundabout way we can call his bluff and see if it encourages him. After all, I think we'd all love to see him try. |

I could look through my recording, but basically what happened was a caller asked Howard why he hadn't given Ronnie any shit lately, and asked Howard to do it again because he missed it. So basically Howard was provoked into it just to get some of those classic "what's your problem, whaddya you know" stuff out of Ronnie. Nothing out of the ordinary though. |

I liked that bitch who was in at the end of the show there. She sounded like Lisa G but sexier. And the best part of it was her grilling Howard on his marriage. I think she really explained to Howard what the whole marriage deal smells like from the fans perspective.
But I dont know if it is really topic worthy.
The potential fox lawsuit is pretty interesting to me.
Maybe some talk about the lack of good guests? Or the fact that they seem to accept shittier guests when the fans would be way happier with no guests at all. I.e. rubber band ball guy or uncle mike.
And after this news story with Mutt. With Stern using his lackey Shuli to use gestapo like tactics to hurt the head of sfn. We need to let all the members of SFN we can trust no one, not our friends our family, and maybe, not even eachother. We must put a stop to the news team's yellow journalism.
I also wouldnt mind hearing some talk about Lisa G and her alleged cobwebs.
Also a lot of people get pissed at Howard for playing up these porn chicks like they are sooooo hot. This deflated balloon bitch does not look good in pictures but in a video I seen she was quite hot. I imagine it is the same in person. Anyone remember when they brought that bitch in to take ol J.B.'s virginity? Man she was fucking gross as hell. The one who like cut herself and shit during sex. There is probably more examples of this but I dont have HTV and this is the only one I remember
Maybe something about Jason gaining weight as Artie loses weight? Maybe get Jason himself to talk some shit on Robin cause she thinks she is so fucking great now that she lost what was it 55 lbs? (bullshit?)

Is JD getting more comfortable in his own skin? He seems to be a little smoother when explaining shit lately. I mean he was talking about liking big fat asses with little trouble. And today as I recall he really didnt slip up at all
Should really talk about Richard and Sal and their whinyness. It is like the Artie/Sal fight just mad evrything worse.
And yea Howard was taking a request to give Ronnie shit. However the shit he gave him he has given him before. Just that Ronnie is a Limo driver and the fact that he can go to Vegas angers him. He said he shoudnt be envious of a limo drivers life. He said Ronnie shouldnt be in Vegas he should be sitting at home waiting for Howard to call. And something happened where Howard was going to an appointment he goes to every week and there was some trouble getting there and he blamed Ronnie's vegas trip. |

I agree with this one....let's get this momentum going. I've been bombarding them with emails regarding the topic and really really want there to be a Friday Show AND MTT. Gary seemed like he would be very pleased to do it, so let's talk it up.
Also, please bring up the fact that Robin should play Win Fred's Money before she rails on Artie for his answers. She has never annoyed me so much as she did during that segment, and it looks like many others agree. |

I particularly liked that he had a fox guest on that day & fox news was a sponsor with a live read at the end of the show. what a day to decide he's suing fox. |

that's the first time I was in the room. Wayde got me the room while levy was on stage. I'm calling the guy now to follow up with him. I should be able to get video of me leaving your room, hitting the soda machine, and then hitting my room. did I have a case a beer, liquor bottles, and a dozen 70's porno mags when I left your room? that time and when i left in the morning are the only 2 times I opened the door. |

Been trying bud but it looks like Jay Thomas is getting the slot.
bottom line is moving Jay from mornings on stars to mornings on howard 101 is free while sticking in the fan show or miserable men would cost a couple bucks. i can't think of any other reason. i mean why stick Jay in there when they already have MisMen in the waiting?
looks like we need to do a Jay Thomas segment. what's the word on the site. is anyone happy about it?

JAY THOMAS FRIDAY MORNING ON HOWARD 101 (LINK)
- It was announce that "as a favor" the Jay Thomas show will be on Howard 101 this week. It's a one time deal but appears that they are trying him out in that slot. You wanted a live Friday AM show. Does this one fill the void for you? What do you think Howard meant by "as a favor"?
- Miserable Men has been filling in for Ferrall. One could say they are being tired out as well. Should they give the Friday AM slot a shot next week?
- other than bitching that you want Howard or Bubba back on Friday AM, what other ideas do the fans have? |

there have been 2 reports. 1 from wade & 1 from the hotel manager.
1st, it's really unprofessional for the hotel to release to the news private information about my stay. that i was there or what was found in my room really should be considered personal information.
2nd, they reported that the stuff was IN the bed under the mattress which I knew was 100% untrue. there's no way a dozen beer & liquor bottles were between the mattresses & I didn't know about it. after speaking to the manager myself I realized he doens't speak english perfectly and I was able to find out that what he meant was under the bed. the case of beer was taller than under the bed and stuck up into the bottom of the boxspring. they had to pick up the boxspring to get it out.
3rd, they reported that there was absolutely no way these items could have been in there when i checked in becasue they are a AAA hotel and the rooms are very clean. basically they were covering their asses and threw me under the bus.
it's fucking bullshit and if the manager doesn't get me the video that clears my name today, i'm calling their cooperate office. they acted inappropriately and need to set things straight |

Jay Thomas is a great choice.
The man has morning radio experience and decades of great stories.
Plus Jay has a completely different take on things than Howard - which is why Howard wants him, Bubba, and Ferrall as voices for his channels.
Looking further into the future, there's no reason why Miserable Men couldn't be a "fill-in" for the weeks when Jay takes a break on Friday mornings. |

The manager was supposed to call me back monday night. When I called Mis Men mon night I was laughing it off and just relieved to find out that the news wasn't running a bullshit story about me. I expected to call in to mis men tues night with info on where people can see the video of me stumbling into & out of the room. I thought it would be a funny conclusion to an awkward situation.
when I didn't receive a call back yesterday, I called and left a message. When he didn't call back today, I once again left a message. since he's made no effort to get back to me, still has not cleared things up with the news, or gotten me the security tapes which essentially clear my name, I had no choice but to email their cooperate office.

Additionally, there is absolutely NO way these items were between the mattresses without me knowing about it. I checked in empty handled and slept in that bed. There's no way for me to have brought it in or been in that bed without noticing a dozen bottles jabbing me in the back.
After demanding a retraction of the story, the manager did a second interview with the news where he insisted these items must have been mine becasue you are a AAA rated hotel and the rooms are thoroughly cleaned. So now in addition to making me look like a rude drunken pervert, I'm also being called a liar.
I spoke to the manager and found out that what he meant to say was that a case of beer and the porn were under the bed. they stuck up into the bottom of the boxspring so to get it out they had to pick up the bed. this is a very different story than what they reported to the press. Certainly something could have been under the bed without my knowledge. I've asked the manager to check the security card records and review the security video so he straighten out this "misunderstanding" with the press. he has yet to do it and he has not called me back. I would like copies of this video showing me coming and going empty handed so i can try to clear my name but honestly, i'll never be able to prove my innocence 100%.
Without even getting into me being upset to find out this garbage was under my bed or that private information about my stay was released to the press, this needs to be resolved. I understand the the manager doesn't want to make the hotel look bad by admitting that stuff was under the bed when I checked in but he should have thought about that before press releasing it. it's incredibly unprofessional and these news reports have hurt my reputation.
I would appreciate someone getting back to me about this matter and doing what it takes to make things right.

| Here is a topic, one thats been under my skin of late. Why is Howard so quick and rude to callers/listeners. Why doesnt he understand that some people freeze up when they realize they are talking to him, and that not everyone has had the opportunity to conduct themselves and have the practice on air like he does. He has the same fuckin nit wits call in all the fucking time. I can understand he needs to have shit rollin but in truth they hardly play games, and when some finally gets through like I said he is short and rude....
