NFL Mock Drafts - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics
LennyD23
I don't really follow drafts closely, at all. That goes for football and basketball.

So for me to look at two different mock drafts for the NFL, this is the most pre-draft hype I've bought into since I was a wee lad.

A few things, I didn't know the order of the draft, but knew the Jets had a high pick. Why are you, LennyD23, a Giant fan, interested in the Jets draft position?

B/c I keep fucking hearing they're gonna take McFadden in the draft... what's the problem with this?

They don't have a fucking quarterback!!!! Clemons/Lemons whatever his name is... not gonna cut it! Neither is Chad. The arm is spent, and the route jumping was off the charts when he had to make deep throws late in games.

I was gonna come on here and say they would be insane to not take BC's Matt Ryan, but every mock draft has him going to ATL.

Other notables from mock drafts:

Pats: Vernon G. (DE/OLB, OSU) - Kinda scarey

Gints: Dan Connor (LB, PSU) - We keep drafting defense, and apparently this wins championships. :D

I would love to see Gholston in a Patriots uniform. They need some youth at the LB spot or a CB to replace Samuel.

I love how the Jets keep signing all these mediocre players for big money when they still don’t have a QB.

Mark my words here Joe Flacco from Delaware will be a better pro than Brohm and should get drafted before him.
LennyD23
I believe Flacco is the real deal, but Jets aren't thinking win, they're thinking about selling merchandise and getting the next "special" thing... like a LaDanian Tomlinson.

RB's aren't special. They can be flashy and they can score a lot when a team is clicking. Jets run game is fine, there are no bad RB's in the NFL, it's a meat market and you just plug in whoever as long as the line has some experience playing together.

Jet's need a QB, Brohm, Flacco, Ryan, doesn't matter... and I don't care that they foolishly select a RB and still suck again. Oooh! M-Fad ran for 200 yards, they beat some shit team today! Meanwhile, they'll fail to make the playoffs.

Anybody got any news on PSU's Connor?
Apoc13
the jets can get one of those qbs (besides ryan) in the 2nd round......mcfadden was expected to go high anyway but then he impressed the scouts at the combine so his value is sky high right now....and i agree that running backs are a dime a dozen, but i'm also a bronco fan
A.Lang=Crazy
I agree you can find a good RB in the later rounds, but you can also find good d-line and o-line in the later rounds too. I would never draft an OT in the first ten picks because you can find guys just as good in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. Still McFadden is the best player in the draft and everybody saw how much an impact Peterson made last year.

I watched Flacco 2 years at Delaware turn from an unproven guy with a ton of potential into a potential starting QB in the NFL. People say he can't run because of his size, but I have seen him make alot of plays on the run hitting guys down field for 50 yard gains. He needs to work on his footwork, but I think he has the most potential in the draft as a QB. I think he would be a nice fit in Chicago as his arm strength can be used against the winds.
mkriss5681
Ravens need a fucking QB
Maximus06
i guarantee the giants don't take dan connor or a LBer. They will go either CB, Sean Phillips if he's there...or OT

Impact? Peterson? What impact? Flashy touchdowns in meaningless games? Who's Minny's QB? If by impact you mean selling of the #28 jersey, ok. But that team didn't make the playoffs.
A.Lang=Crazy
Just because they didn't make the playoffs doesn't mean he didn't make an impact. Without Peterson the Vikings would have won maybe 5 games. Vikings just missed the playoffs too and will make the playoffs this year mainly because of Peterson.

They would've been fine without him I say. Mewelde Moore and Chester Taylor would've gotten 5-7 wins.

They won that game against the Giants w/out Peterson, too.

You should have stooped when you said you didn't know anything about the draft. Outside of Ryan none of the other guys are considered top 5 guys and Ryan will nbe gone by the time we draft. Clemens was also a high 2nd rd pick 2 years ago so he is very young and it takes guys some time to develop(it to Eli almost 4 full seasons). We strengthened the OL which was our bigggest weakness last year. Chad is still more than capable especially now w/ the improvements up front.
elroyjonz
Chad is capable of what? Leading his team to a 6-10 season.

Last year was his first bad season when he's been healthy, it was the first healthy season where he didn't lead us to the postseason. I hope the Jets aren't dumb enough to get rid of him, I think Clemens can eventually be good but he sure didn't look ready last year so Chad should be the starter and w/ a much improved OL(plus we just signed a great blocking FB today in Tony Richardson) we'll see a much improved ground game which will help Chad or Clemens immensely.

Actually, I should not have stopped. I seem to know exactly the knowledge you posted about the draft, being that I mentioned it in my original post. You know, the idea being that Ryan will be gone by the time the Jets draft, most likely to the Falcons.

Can you retain anything you read, or do you just not read before you post?

ps - your QB's are for shit, they're a total joke.

What does Dave Dravecky and Chad Pennington both have in common?

A: They both have no arm.

Either get a QB, or enjoy not making the playoffs again. :hw:

I enjoy the draft. I was here last April, with meetthemets and a few others, and had a good time watching it.
But unless you get a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, the draft is only a small piece of the puzzle.

the problem is that you don't know you've gotten a brady until a couple years later
scotsalemfan
Those are the guys you want.
Most of these first rounders aren't going to be big factors.

I really wouldn't mind the Raiders taking Dorsey or Ellis. Raider's are almost set on D

First of you don't know anything about the jets QB situation. The Giants QB situation looked similar a year ago as Eli was a bad QB for 3 years. You don't just throw away players after 1 year of playing. They drafted Clemens just 2 years ago high in the 2nd rd. The Jets biggest problem was OL not QB. The QBs didn't play well but it had more to do w/ poor OL play which led to poor rusahing game which led to a poor passing game.

Can I retain anything? Isn't the premise of the thread why the Jets aren't taking a QB w/ the #5 pick?

Chad has been a healthy started in 4 seasons, 3 of them he led us to postseason including 2006. Chad's a winner, the team deteriorated around him and we stunk last year but Chad can still be a good QB.
Apoc13
i think chad and eli are the kind of qbs that you ask not to lose a game...not the kind you ask to win a game...and that is what separates the the best from the middle of the pack

Chad post-shoulder injury you are probably right but w/ what eli showed from dec-Feb I'm not sure he firs in that category anymore. He needs to prove he can do it for more than 4-5 weeks but iof that's a sign of things to come he moves out of that category.

absolutely...eli seems to be on the right track...i know people think i'm an eli basher but i'm really not...i just need to see more than i have before i can say he's over the hump...so far he's an average qb with an an above average postseason...like i've said before, he's got the pedigree so there is no reason to believe he can't become an elite qb, but it's taken him significantly longer than it took his brother

Your rushing game was fine, but your passing game sucked donkey balls.

I know everything about the Jets QB situation, it sucks, and it's bleaker than the Giants' situation has been since the Giants had Dave Brown. You have two fucking chumps, Chad's best is behind him. He was legit, but kept getting hurt.

The premise of the thread is mock NFL drafts... I'll talk circles around your retarded ass when it comes to on-filed stuff, as you're the fucking monkey who thinks Chad is still good and that Clemons has a chance at getting good. Chad has no arm left, I don't care if his team is him at the helm of mini-Ditkas, he's gonna throw pics. Clemons will never amount to shit.

He has ZERO chance!! He's a fucking a hump and so are you.
LennyD23
Grow the fuck up and draft a quarterback!
Kang
I'd take a chance on David Carr as Chad's back up, as opposed to Clemens, probably end up like another Pat Ramsey situation though(first round bust), but wouldn't have to give up picks.
LennyD23

The run game was not fine, Thomas Jones is a much better back than the 3.6 YPC he averaged last year. We have 2 good backs but the OL was awful. Now the OL is a strength PLUS they signed All-Pro FB Tony Richardson. Our running game will be a strength this year which will help open up the passing game which was also awful last year.

You'll talk circles around me when it comes to on field stuff? I'd love to see that. I hope you know alot more abou the NFL than you know about College Basketball. Comparing this current Jets QB situation to the dave Brown years shows me you might not know what you are talking about.

Chad didn't have an arm when he led us to the div title and was the league's top passer in 2002, he had a TORN ROTATOR CUFF in his throwing shoulder in 2004 when he led us w/in a missed kick of the AFC Title Game and 2 years ago he was coming off 2 shoulder surgeries and led us to 10 wins.

Unfortunately if they signed another QB it would be Chad who was released not Clemens.

Chad is done and so are the Jets unless they get a legit QB. I'm not gonna read one word of your long winded, hot air response until you acknowledge that fact.
Valve
The Jet's need a legit QB, plain and simple.
Maximus06
they need a running back to...thomas jones is finished...he blows and washington is a 3rd down back at best

The Jets need to draft a Pro Bowl caliber player. It doesn't matter what position he plays.

I know people say he's too short or whatever, but I really think given an opportunity Troy Smith can be a good QB in the league.
