wang lit up today...6 runs and he never got out of the first...may as well start the trash talking early
A.Lang=Crazy
Chamberlain got rocked too. Nuge talking about Santana one bad start in spring training means he is done, but Wang is fine :rolleyes:
Apoc13
i wonder what hank has to say about these developments
A.Lang=Crazy
He only cares about Red Sox nation.
elroyjonz
Derek Lowe not looking too sharp against the Sox today. Jacoby playing great again.
Hugomarink
Wang will be a solid fantasy pitcher this season.
A.Lang=Crazy
Wang gets you wins thats it. He is a horrible fantasy pitcher.
Pocc
Mussina got hit bad earlier in the week too I think.
DestroVega
Wang will win his 17-20... Joba, I dunno, that homerun he gave up was MAMMOTH!.. It's only spring training.
KingOfAllWhites
I was thinking the same thing.

Johan gets rocked HIS FIRST START IN THE SPRING and its the end of the world.

Wang, Chamberlain and Kennedy all get ROCKED and its no big deal. Typical Yankees!

In my league a pitcher win is worth 10 points. Pretty significant. I won my league last year and Wang in the second half was a great contributor.

The Yankees started very slow in 2007. They have to avoid a repeat of that. But these games mean nothing, unless you have an injury.

I never thought Johan getting rocked was a big deal... it's the first live batters for Christ sakes!

lol, you arent the typical yankee fan i am referring to. It is the people who called WFAN and the people who posted about Johan getting rocked(see Nuge). Mike and Chris talked about it for a good 90 min-2 hrs that day!

I thought they gave Santana a pass... I know their stance is that Santana has to be great this season, aside from Wagner's comments that he will "need time to adjust"...

I think that's fair I guess... how about you?
Apoc13
i don;t see santana struggling at all....if he was an nl pitcher going to the al, then i would expect an adjustment...but going from al to nl makes it much easier
DestroVega
^ I agree... I think he should actually win 25 games and have a sub-2 ERA... that might be shooting too high, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

I like Santana to win 23 or so. He'll have little problem dealing with those mostly weaker NL lineups. The Yankees on the other hand will win a bunch of games solely on their offense. That pitchng staff scares no one & come playoff time, if they get there, they will be bounced quickly once again. Wang throws all of the soft garbage that does not get it done in October. You need pitchers that do not pitch to contact. The Yankees are full of pitchers that pitch to contact & with a mediocre defense, that does not bode well for them.
Pocc
Santana will be lucky to break 20 wins this year. Dont forget hes on the Mets.
Kayotic1
I have cleaned up this week betting against the Yankees. Every game I can get plus money as high as +160. Give me a break. This is spring training.

Who gave Santana a pass?

He is the only player who had a thread about him on SFN because of his spring training start. They also spent over an hour discussing it on WFAN. It was also on the back covers of all 3 major NY papers. Are we discussing the same Johan Santana?
