Nah through syndication I don't think there HAS to be a Cox station in Portland. I think they can Lease the show broadcast rights from Cox . Happens all the time. |

Well really there isn't an opening here...we have Corolla on the main rock station...The other rock station is a hippie granola type alternative rock type format...not exactly a bubba fit then we have a nationally syndicated Hip Hop show that is actually based out of Portland...That leaves Country and soft easy listening stations... |

Outside of curse words, Bubba's terrestrial show is actually better in many aspects and you can tell which show he's more into if you listen to both (as well as which show will survive in the future). |
|

I used to want Bubba to stay on Sirius but at this point I almost hope he leaves..
The afternoon show is horrible now....its just Bubba using his show to rip off Howards fans with his garbage he pushes....whether is 3 hrs of bubbapalooza plugs and talk, or "Hey Spice the new FTE shirts came in , lets take 10 calls where people want them".
Id rather they leave than turn a supermark like me into someone that hates them.
Its obvious that they have ZERO interest in making the Afternoon show good anymore, its just a way to sell their crap.
(yes I realize all the limitations at Sirius, but you cant tell me Bubba isnt talented enough to work around them...If bubba has to shock nuts to be funny then is he really funny in the first place?) |

Arbitron is a subscription service. Unless a local newspaper writes a story about ratings of individual shows, there won't ever be a link. The only thing that is public are overall station ratings. |

Bubba's return to terrestrial radio has been sheer brilliance! Not necessarily for the content, but how he has managed to get high profile advertising on major media outlets by taking on the Mark Lunsford cause. The minute news got out that this idiot was suing the sheriff who worked so hard to help find his kid, and then helped get the guy covicted and sentenced to death, Bubba was all over the story. This is so much like the days when Bubba ruled Tampa radio with 98 Rock. His name was always in the media, whether good or bad, and that caused people to pay attention.
Good Job Fat Man!! Welcome Back to the top!! |

Bubba's Sirius show is one long commercial for all things Bubba:
T shirts
mudflaps
key chains
K5 anthology
Bubbapalooza
Bubba Raw
Ned songs on itunes
The guy has no shame about selling junk to his audience.
Yes, Howard hocks Howard TV, but a least he's not hitting us up every five minutes with: Howard T shirts, Howard key chains, Howard mugs, Howard raw, Howardpalooza and Sal and Richard's congs on I Tunes |

When you think about it, it's a great opportunity for Bubba to convince Cox to syndicate him. He's proven that his show is successful all over America because of Sirius and the Bubbapalooza shows.

Its the way Howard always explained...no the people arent forced to buy it, but in radio fans are fanatics and will buy anything you put out there....Ive been on here since day 1 of Sirius tenure and i havent begrudged Bubba selling stuff , but when it INFESTS the whole show and is used at content is when it bothers me.
I love the show and it just bothers me that the show is the way it is now, I know its not Bubbas fault that Sirius execs are a bunch of assholes, its just the way it is.
It almost seems as if this is Bubbas big F-You to Sirius, milk all the money they can the next year by making their junk the center point of the show, while doing good radio locally. |

Overall station ratings are usually the only thing ever published for public consumption, since Arbitron is a subscription service. Here are the overall station ratings for Tampa/St. Pete. WHPT jumped from a 2.5 to a 3.3. That's a 50% jump in the last year. I don't know a lot about interpreting ratings, but that sounds pretty good to me.

Just the 19th market.... In a list made up of 302 markets! That not so bad it leave bubba with a lots of place to expand you can bet that at least ten smaller market would jump at the chance to get good and cheap content. Renting a syndicated show is cheap for a radio station because they don't have to produce anything. Once Bubba get a good network going he would start attracting bigger fish. If the TV deal gets done and we can assume that it would get done because lets face it the Bubba universe is so fuck up that it rival the Osborne in weird reality TV! That deal alone even if it just a minor hits would boost is national notoriety to major star status.
You can be sure that if that happen BTLS would end up being syndicated all over the state. Now every new market added means bigger exposure for the ITunes/mudflap/bubbapalooza side of the BTLS brand and content.
Bubba right! If he don't fuck up and get the FCC after him again the show is going to be in a very great place a few years from now. Just around the time Howard is probably going to say. "Fuck this place it bullshit am really out of here!"
And by the way bubba is not number one in Tampa yet it another cox radio who managed to pass MJ! The midget got pass over by an easy listening station! lolll
WDUV-FM
The Bone WHPT-FM is still way behind but guess what they did manage to get one more market share. |

| WDUV is consistently the highest overall rated station in the BaY Area. Their numbers are huge and they are carried by the Delilah lady who has like a billion listeners at night. Where Bubba is kicking MJs ass is with the target demographic. This will get real interesting because the poop is MJ may not even be the highest rated show in his own building now. Say goodbye to that cherished parking space midget. |

Bubba said he should be in Orlando by January. |
|
|
| bitrunner |
| He was talking on Monday's FM show about not going anywhere with reguard to the Tampa market. So I think there is a good chance he is gone from Sirius after the year is up. He seems to like doing the local show and once he is in a few more markets I can't see him giving it up for Sirius. |
|
|
| So Hard Done By |
I think the drug talk is a huge problem for Bubba getting the widespread syndication he otherwise has within reach. I can think of large areas of the midwest and northern michigan and wisconsin where every other aspect of his show would go over huge, but people get sanctimonious when it comes to drugs - it would be a big sponsor chill. With all the publicity, how long before one of them gets busted for prescription drugs he can't produce a script for and they get dropped 30 seconds later? It's a house of cards.
I think he will get regionally syndicated, make millions, have a good show, and be very happy, but I'm skeptical he'll make the jump he's trying to chum with all these bubbapaloozas of becoming a national over the air show. |
|
|
| bitrunner |
That's true on the drug thing, I'm in Ohio and would love to see his show in some form be syndicated here. But Bubba could have a great run just being locally syndicated in FL.
On the other hand how long will it be till he gets an FCC complaint about sexual content in his show? Like when he was talking to that cougar in VA a few days ago (a great segment on his morning show!) |
|
|
| madhi19 |
The whole drug thing is more of a work than a shoot you think Bubba and crew don't have prescription for everything they take. Come on learn how to work kid! lolll I even have doubt about Brent pot smoking habit if you do something not legit you don't brag about it on radio at least until it well over and you don't have anything left at home.
The studio is pretty air tight anybody who want to serve a search warrant would have to storm the whole place Counter Strike style. Nobody is going to risk the legal consequence if they found nothing. Bubba is just too high profile and the one time they did try something like that "the Hog deal" it blow up in the face of the prosecutor and the whole deal could have cost the county a shit load of cash if Bubba had sue them back! |

With Howard's show being so lame lately, I am going to check out Bubba and the boys online Friday AM instead of MTT.
The afternoon show is pretty stale as it is evident they are just filling up time by using the TV and various other diversions to live up to their agreement to do a live show. I have only been listening for 2 years, but see a huge difference in just that short time in their "quality". At times, I think Bubba is pretty shrewd in his excess marketing! Granted we aren't paying for it and it should be cut down, but people are buying this crap. That'll be the day I pay $300+ for a set of 23 CD's of stuff that I can get online for free. I actually saw the K5 box set on Limewire for download. These guys works hard, so I don't advocate stealing their work, just saying I am not paying for it outside of my Sirius fee.
I hope Sirius man's up and pays these guys what they deserve and !
If Howard leaves at the end of his contract, Bubba has the stuff to keep the subs if he is give freedomizzle to do so.

You are joking right? They don't make jack from Sirius. Sure, Howard wants to keep them on and has said so...however, at the end of the day, you have to be able to pay your staff and keep your family fed. He wasn't going to be able to do that with Sirus alone. So, to me, it is a slap in Bubba's face that he must sell all his merchandise during his show, tour the country with Bubbapalooza, and work in the morning for terrestrial radio to get paid. It is a Sirius decision to pay him what they did...so I'm not really sure how Bubba is "slapping" anyone in the face. What do you do for a living? Tedeso, are you willing to work for a fraction of your market value? |
