Fired Obama Aide Reveals That Obama's Iraq Plan Is Empty Rhetoric - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics

Is Obama honest about anything he has promised to those that support him?

So taking serious action on Nafta was just lip service to voters, and now it is revealed that he is making promises about US involvement in Iraq that he doesn't plan to keep.

Tie that in with his evasions regarding Rezko and the controversial church he attends - this guy needs to hold a press conference and answer the questions the voters have, not field 8 questions and then run away as he did when he was asked about Rezko at his last press conference.

Disgraceful.

Power on Obama's Iraq plan: "best case scenario"

For all the chatter about Obama adviser Samantha Power's calling Clinton a "monster," another set of remarks made on her book tour in the United Kingdom may be equally threatening to the Obama campaign : Comments in a BBC interview that express a lack of confidence that Obama will be able to carry through his plan to withdraw troops from Iraq within 16 months.

"He will, of course, not rely on some plan that he’s crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator ," she said at one point in the interview.

Power downplayed Obama's commitment to quick withdrawal from Iraq on Hard Talk , a program that often exceeds any of the U.S. talk shows in the rigor of its grillings. She was challenged on Obama's Iraq plan, as it appears on his website, which says that Obama "will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months."

"What he’s actually said, after meting with the generals and meeting with intelligence professionals, is that you – at best case scenario – will be able to withdraw one to two combat brigades each month. That’s what they’re telling him. He will revisit it when he becomes president," Power says.

The host, Stephen Sackur, challenged her:"So what the American public thinks is a commitment to get combat forces out in 16 months isn't a commitment isn't it? "

"You can’t make a commitment in March 2008 about what circumstances will be like in January of 2009," she said. "He will, of course, not rely on some plan that he’s crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator. He will rely upon a plan – an operational plan – that he pulls together in consultation with people who are on the ground to whom he doesn’t have daily access now, as a result of not being the president. So to think – it would be the height of ideology to sort of say, 'Well, I said it, therefore I’m going to impose it on whatever reality greets me.'"

"It’s a best-case scenario," she said again.

Obama's and Clinton's have both refused to promise a firm timeline for withdrawal, even by 2013, because of the changing situation on the ground in Iraq. But Power also seemed to depart from Obama's optimism that his plan is likely to work.

Power identified herself in the interview as an "informal adviser" to Obama.

"I've never been in politics before, I've thought of being on a show like this defending a presidential candidate before, and I wouldn't do it if I didn't agree with him," she said.

Why is it you troll for shit about Obama, but leave the shit about Hillary alone?

Fuck you and your "shameful" bullshit. I get that you don't like Obama, but the notion that he's less competent than Hillary is fucking LAUGHABLE.

I am not questioning his competency here. It's his honesty, or lack of, that is disturbing.

I forgot to add - he told his supporters he was in favor of accepting pubic financing. Now he won't commit to it.

Don't blame the messenger - Obama is the one who has on his website, and I quote -

"I want to campaign the same way I govern, which is to respond directly and forcefully with the truth"

The problem with that is that it is becoming quite apparent that Obama has been telling people everything but "the truth."

Again, he should hold a press conference and start being honest with people and show some integrity.

Funny how when the laundy list of people that left the Bush admin all came out and said what a monumental clusterfuck of greed and screwups it is, all the NEOCON sheep wrote them off a "disguntled former employees with axes to grind or books to sell"

The hypocrisy of douchechilling fucktards like VTurd Boy never ceases to amaze me.

So, he's LESS honest than Hillary Clinton.

Is that what you're saying?

Please say yes. Because it would be the single most ridiculous thing anyone has ever said.

This isn't about Hillary Clinton, but in comparison both are bullshit artists.

The difference is that Clinton isn't putting herself on a pedestal and proclaiming that she is above it all and wants to usher in new politics and all of Obama's other apparent empty rhetoric.

You can dump on President Bush all you want, jackass. Bottom line - when he campaigned he stuck to the promises he made.

He wasn't running around in 2000 promising a Medicare Part D and then telling other people "Oh, that's just lip-service to older voters."

If there is anything you are capable of admitting without being intellectually dishonest, it is that with George W. Bush you knew what you were getting when you voted for him - not empty promises that he had no intention of keeping like Obama.

Obama is an idiot, full of shit. You can tell he has nothing to offer. But this country is full of dumbasses that buy into bullshit all the time. Get over yourselves it doesn't matter who is the President, this Nation will go on.

Like when he said he was a "uniter and not a divider" and pledged to reach across the aisle to bring the country together. Or when he claimed to be against government spending. How about when he was against "nation building"?

Spin it somehwere else assclown. Noones buying your bullshit.

I lifted this from one of my previous posts but it applies here:

"Conservatives have been running on fiscal responsibility forever, anti abortion for 30 years and gay marriage for 10. They have delivered; the exact opposite, nothing and nothing, respectively."

I am glad that the U.S. isn't involved in nation building like Busch promised!

How about the 2000 campaign when Bush said he wouldn't use the USA as nation builders and would push a humble foreign policy?

Yeah, you're right - after 9/11, the President should have done what Clinton was doing for 8 years which was ignore it and hope it went away.

See the difference here is that Obama is unequivocal about a complete withdrawal - or so he tells people at his megarallies and on his website. In reality, he plans to do nothing of the sort.
Hey, if he understands the importance of victory in Iraq then I commend him. What I take issue with is lying to scare up votes.

The economy has been strong for the vast majority of the President's two terms. The fact is that despite what any President does, the economy moves along in cycles and thus has an occasional downturn.

Your hero Bill Clinton left office while the economy was sliding into a recession - that's a fact.

Thank God Republicans NEVER lie, or commit any wrongdoing whatsoever. That is what you're implying, right?

Do you intentionally make these moronic posts in hopes of making yourself look like a total idiot? I mean if you do, that's cool, and all.

If not, you really need to come to terms about what a dumb-ass you are.
