Great game that lived up to the hype after it looked like UNC would win easily until Duke started to hit some of their 3 point shots. Duke got back in the game and took the lead in the second half with a couple of three, but the Hansbrough lead Tar Heels hold on for the win to remain undefeated on the road while giving Duke their first home loss of the year. Danny Green the best six man in college had a monster game scoring 18 points grabbing 8 rebounds and blocking 7 shots. He is UNC x-factor and was the difference in the game. Lawson return made an impact too as he made some nice passes and pretty much sealed the deal as he stole the ball from Henderson and drove the down the court missing the shot, but Green with the follow giving UNC a 6 point lead with a minute left. Most surprising thing in the game was Hansbrough had a good game, but he didn't get to the foul line once even though he has shot the most ft out of anybody in college. It looked to me like he got hacked at least 5 times, but Duke seems to get every call in their favor though the refs couldn't give Duke the win this time.
Great day of college basketball as Georgetown hits a GW 3 to beat Louisville for the Big East title. Then UCLA makes another 2nd half comeback with Shipp hitting an unbelievable shot behind the back board giving UCLA the win. Then UNC knocks off Duke to cap the night off. March is already here and I can't wait till the madness really starts. Best time of the year with March Madness and baseball right around the corner. |

Great game obviously. You knew duke would go on a run and make it a game even after being down 11 at the half. it's just the way these games go most of the time, evcen though Carolina played horribly in the first game they whittled the duk lead down to 5 before some late FTs ended it.
I still can't believe Hansbrough didn't go to the FT line.
Green and Ellington really stepped up, Q kept up his good play and Lawson is slowly working himself back. We see glimpses of the pre-injuty Tywon but he's clearly not 100% healthy.
Great win, ACC Champs again in the reg season and hopefully we'll see back to back ACC Tourney Champs as well. |
