Bubba explains it all in his blog:
hey everyone….wow, got some great sleep yesterday/last night, got up this morning..cleaned the pool, feed the fish, heather and i and julia are headed to the clem gym, then i am headed to the go cart track to get some stuff done on tylers car for his races tommorrow….Friday was a great great day….Sirius management flew here to tampa and we had a great great meeting…
got alot of things ironed out. i feel very very positive about what we got done….just to name a few, shocked the balls/puss are back when we want to do them…shit hits the fan is back..and some other things as well……i am looking forward to getting back on the air next week……..to be honest with you, it was the mojo that i needed back……i will get into it monday, but i am so happy we all had this sit down, and things seem to be headed in the right direction……
they gave us friday afternoon off for us to all get some rest…i came home at 4pm and slept till 8pm, then heather went to mcdonalds for me, and i layed in bed and watch iron justice/iron heart on msnbc till 2am. slept till 9am, and i feel GRWEAT……
i think the sirius management finally realizes what they have in us…and they came down here, and patted us on the back and gave us backing we need…….thank u management….thank u…….

the contract states that Sirius can buy out the FM contract at years end...at least thats what i've gathered.. |

Agreed. I was disappointed that Bubba didn't mention the Friday replay until someone posted something he said on his testicle show about meeting with lawyers. Howard should be so open.
It's fanfukintastic that it looks like we might be getting our old Bubba back. The one that many of us know and love. |

Bubba needs 1 maybe 2 more Arbitron books to come out that show the numbers for sat. radio. If he is clearly the #2 talk show on both Sirius and XM, you would hope the new Sirius would make an effort to keep him. Post merger, the company really needs to focus on keeping subscribers as well getting new ones. And to do that I think they need more than 20 hours of Howard a week, commercial free music, and sports. |

it sucks it took sirius this long to realize Bubba is worth something...im sure the ratings/trend numbers of his AM show was the final factor...
hopefully they can have a good relationship going forward and they might be able to keep Bubba on Sirius for years to come...because Im guessing they are only going to do one show starting in 09.... |

GREAT NEWS!
I KNEW something was up with replay willy without any warning yesterday. I was pretty disappointed to not have a show, but was more worried about why they took it off without telling us....very unlike them, and I had assumed that maybe something bad was going on. I would imagine that it is the AM show skyrocketing in the books that got their attention. It's too bad it came to that to wake them up, but I sure am glad they are being afforded the respect and freedoms they deserve.
Glad they got Friday off too, that's a nice gesture and a well deserved break. |

I actually do not care for the stunts as much as others but I love the fact that Bubba is excited to be part of siri again ... that is a win-win

Great News!
I think what is happening is that with the merger about to go through, management took inventory of their talent assets from both Sirius and XM and realized they need to keep Bubba around and are willing to do what it takes to make him happy and assist in growing his fan base.
I just hope they don't consolidate that Opie and Anthony Virus station with Bubba's BRN programming. Bubba needs to stay on the Stern side or they need to allow the BRN it's own station. |

That is a big surprise.
My gut feeling tells me that Sirius realized they were on the verge of losing Bubba, and that finally they realized they can't let that happen - and someone knew what to do to start repairing the relationship.
I also have to wonder if there is an iggy on the merger, that it is either going to happen, or that the approval will be denied. Or maybe they just don't give a shit anymore, and are tired of toning everything down while waiting. |

I hope things go that way, and that they can pony up some Adam Corrola type of money for Bubba in the near future. Because if they don't, he could get syndicated and rule Terrestrial. Maybe I should say he will, instead of he could.

Yeah, Howard left a huge hole in terrestrial for someone to fill, and those douche holes O&A aren't getting it done. I'd think that the recent arbitron trends show that bubba WILL be filling that hole as either their competition on terrestrial, or they can show him a little love and have him as their man on Sirius.
It's not like they are asking for King Howard's ransom, they'd probably be happy with a month of fucking martha's salary for the year, or hell.....even what they paid Jay-z for his bullshit weekend. As I detailed out in another thread, I've laid out a lot of cash for the BRN and Sirius JUST to hear this show, which they wont be getting if there's no bubba anymore. I am positive I am not the only one. I really enjoy the morning show as well, but bubba with the reigns in HIS hands.......nothing tops his sirius showing. Plus, it has begun to feel like "home" on 101. Let's hope this is a move in the right direction for the sat deal. |

| I wonder what made them come to their senses. It is very convenient that all the sudden Bubba gets a visit just days after he announces him being #1 in Tampa. Like someone said, either they're scared of losing him or maybe they're seeing a "Bubba effect"? Fact is that being #1 in Tampa and in Jacksonville gives him a big audience that creates a lot of potential customers. Maybe he starts talking about his satellite show a bit more during his FM show. Anyways, I'm sure Bubba will say something that he wasnt supposed to say that will give some more insight. |

Thats what i'm wondering. I've always understood that the cool shit was kaboshed because of threatening the merger. If management is saying game on, that makes me wonder if a ruling is fixing to come down on the merger. |

| I gots to say I actually like his 2008 show. I enjoy more phone calls and current event talk. The crazy stuff he does really doesn't make for great radio, only great Bubbaraw.com. I don't mind it once in a while, but every week is too much. I enjoyed the old bits as I didn't buy the $300 Bubba disc set. I thought Bubba's show as a whole has been better then Howard's recently. I would like Bubba to get rid of the unsign band review, and play more Bubba 199. |

Very cool. I've only been listening for a couple of months but love the shit out of it. Like someone said earlier it might not come out that well on the radio but it will be cool on Bubba Raw .com.
I happen to like the calls from listeners. I think that this is a result of Bubba and the boys sacking up and going to work as far as taking on the morning show, and the Bubbapalooza tour. It's finaly getting through to corporate that it's a popular show and the audience is spread out around the country. And he's big in the trucker market it seems. Smart fucking move right there. That's a captive audience for the entire show. Listening to ads over and over. It also seems to me that Bubba runs more commercials then Stern. That may be annoying to have to listen to but it tells me he's able to sell more ad time.
Smart fucking move taking on the morning gig I say. Here's a tip of the Rattler for Bubba and the boys. |

I record the show every night on the replay @ 1:00 am on the Stilletto. I listen to it at the gym the following morning. This is awesome news!!! :dancing: |

Well your in for a treat then beause ever since Sirius dropped the hammer on them they have only been running quarter throttle. Im sure he still will have many guidelines to follow but at least the tides are turning in the right direction. |

Between the West Coast Feed of Howard's show, the BTLS show, the 7 PM show, Ferrall, and the midnight show, there's too much stuff to consolidate.
Plus, O&A have replays of their own to deal with. And the R&F guys as well.
Keep O&A on their own channel. |

Of course, a lot of that was probably Bubba Army listening to the online feed to get the Bubba they were missing.
Now that the real Bubba is back to Sirius, anyone wanna guess what'll happen to the FM ratings? I'm not saying they'll go down, but it'll be interesting to see what happens.
I doubt he starts talking about his Sirius show during FM hours. COX corporate might not like that free advertising. |

| This is going to get real interesting over time because when Bubba's first book comes out in Tampa it looks like his show is going to be # 1, with huge numbers already. And if history is any indicator Bubba's numbers will only continue to rise. I find it hard to believe that Cox is going to let him go without a fight so it is likely that Bubba will have both entities bidding for his services. That only means one thing: Bubba is going to get major paid! Sirius took the risk on a one year deal and now it will cost them plenty. Good for the fat man. When they get going his show is arguably the best out there! :clap: |
