I have been having serious issues with the crappy quality receivers I purchased for several years now, Sirius and I have been at an impasse because their only option for me was to mail in my units and be without them for "8-10 weeks" while they decide to repair or replace them; which is not an acceptable option for me.
I have been limited to only Sirius internet streaming for a few months now, finally this morning I decided I had enough and called to cancel, really cancel not threaten, they are sending me two free radios with car and home kit and two antenna kits with free install card today. :) :D ;)
I called to threaten canceling several times previously to no avail.
Flame away.......I am only trying to inspire others suffering from the same shitty hardware issue as well... |

| I had a old starmate and i broke it switching car/house. I bought a new stratus and the reception sucked compared to the starmate. I said i was canceling and they sent me a free install card. It sounds better that ever now. Sirius customer service is great. |

My starmate is doing the same thing as mentioned above...I am going to call and threaten to cancel. If they don't bite on my threat then I really will cancel.
It's too bad they make these radios sucky and then don't stand behind them. |

what's the install card for? when my first radio broke down, the replacement had that drastically lower-range fm transmitter, but aside from that the reception is fine |

Perhaps I shouldn't be counting my chickens yet....but this is the first positive event in the long saga, so it was cause for celebration as the rep who gave me her name and extension has promised the free replacements, something I can and will hold them to.
For 'problems', not run of the mill issues, I agree that the first tier csrs suck, even the second tier are largely useless; but once you reach retention, they are much more attentive, and on this continent which is great in and of itself.
The install card is simply a voucher for free install of the fm adaptor they give you, which you can likely install yourself in a few minutes. |

I'm not a fan of their customer service. I find that companies with excellent customer service gets a lot of referrals from those customers, meaning more clients.
They need to wise up on that. |

that sounds good, its the least they could do, i mean the radios should be made alot more better.
as a consumer we should get at least 3 years of service out of a radio.
