I was, using Firefox and the sirius.com media player until a coupla months ago, when it stopped working ("the playlist format is not recognized").
I started using the SiriusMac2 player, which was rather half-assed at best, until it stopped working entirely, a few days ago (logs in successfully, but only offers two channels...NPR, and The Bridge).
So I downloaded and installed StarPlayr, which worked fine for one day, and then it started hanging/freezing after being launched.
I've about had it, with this shit. Seems like a fuck of a lot of effort to hear a Mai Pang interview.
Are you listening on a Mac? If so, with what? |

I've been listening online since it started.
Originally listened through the Sirius log-in but now listen through StarPlayr.
Never had a problem. |

I had problems with SiriusMac as well which is why i switched to StarPlayr. I use StarPlayr at work too with no problem.
Maybe it's your connection or computer configuration. |

Agreed. Starplayr even tells me what is playing when it's not playing. NICE! |

Starplayr is the BOMB! Sirius Mac initally worked well for me, but then got buggy. I switched to Starplayr and love it.
I believe you need an additional piece of software installed called Flip for Mac. I'm not on my Starplayr installed Mac now so I can't say that with certainty. Also you might want to clear your memory cache and see if that helps.
Using 24"iMac, Intel, OSX10.4.11, Comcast Broadband. |

goodtime, The King Of All StarPlayr, is very helpful and thorough, and always answers every question promptly.
Well, at least as promptly as anyone who has a 2 day old son can...
Congrats goodtime & Mrs goodtime! |

| I'm looking for something to record the show from 6-12 every day without having to have someone active at my computer. Currently, I run a line-in from my sirius radio because I was under the impression that the online players logged you off after inactivity. Is this true with StarPlayr? |

| I am a pilot. As such I am gone all week. I have been using a program called Wiretap Pro almost since the beginning of Howards reign. I also use the line-in from a small Sirius radio. Wiretap uses iCal to schedule the recording. I set energy saver to turn the mac on at 5:55A. Wiretap stars the recording two minutes prior to the program start. The program also allows one to do repeat recording (weekdays) and name and date the file and put it in a folder of your choice. I programmed it once and it does the rest. Wonderful piece of software. I save the files as mp4b (bookmarkable). That puts them in the audiobook folder in iTunes or the iPod. That way when you listen and stop, it will return back to where you left off. Could you ask for anything more? I end up being a couple of weeks behind all of the time, but at least I am able to hear ALL of the program content that I pay for. One caveat regarding the software. Since I started using it two years ago, the company has upgraded the software to a program called Wiertap Studio. It does many more things than wiretap pro. However, it does not do some of the things that I needed to accomplish my goal of simply recording 6 hours of the Stern show. So, you will have to buy Studio and then make a phone call to the company and they will direct you to a page on their site where you can download Wiretap Pro. I am currently running 1.3.4 and the name of the company is Ambrosia Software. I have gotten more use out of this inexpensive piece of software than just about any other software I have purchased. Works with G5 and Intel machines. Hope this helps. |

Is this true with StarPlayr? | No, StarPlayr will not log you off, and will, using the included iCal scripts, Open StarPlayr, record the show, and send it to iTunes as a bookmarkable file, which can then automatically sync to your iPod; all without your presence! Make sure you're using the latest version of StarPlayr, currently 1 .7.7, which you can download here:

| I've been using SiriusMac2 and until the latest update it worked fine. Now I can't save my favorite channels, but it works otherwise. |
