“An act of betrayal,” said James Carville, an adviser to Mrs. Clinton and a friend of Mr. Clinton.

“Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic,” Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.

Oh the shame....

Bill Richardson watched the fucking Super Bowl with Bubba so I do consider this a serious betrayal.

It's politics...

Politicians have no loyalty, just ambition.

Richardson knows that Hillary has lost, either way. Either she loses to Obama or she loses to McCain because if the Super Delegates give it to Hillary, she will lose 1/2 the Democratic Voters.

Same goes with Obama. The dem party is split and actually I feel sorry for them. This illustrates just how absurd the two-party system is.

Carville is a Clintonista. Same sense of entitlement.

I saw Richardson respond to this and it was really great... when a reporter asked him about it he said something like...

"A lot of the people around the Clinton's want to lower the debate to that level but I won't sink that low... it's really sad, a lot of her people feel like they're entitled to the presidency"

I'm paraphrasing but that was in essence what he said.

At one point in one of his pro-Hillary rants, Howard let his true colors fly when he said:

"It's her turn!!!!"

Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing she has going for her anymore... a lot of uninformed people think it's "her turn"

It's kind of amazing to me how a few weeks ago Stern was saying "wow this ron paul guy is on to something..." Because Ron Paul was the only one in the Republican debates to acknowledge "blowback" and the fact that our foreign policy is what motivated islamic extremists to commit 911... and now that "his" candidate is losing his whole tune has changed...

I can only guess that he donated money to hillary or something and will feel like it was wasted when she loses.

Carville will go to his grave worshipping all things Clinton.
If Hillary had a radio show, James Carville would be a whackpacker.
Odd Vaark
Bushes and Clintons have littered the WH since 1980 - that's way too long. Time for a permanent change.

Do you really believe he thinks Obama is the better candidate or just that he believes Obama will win the nomination? By his own words, it looks more like the latter.

If he really thought Barack was the better "man", why not endorse him sooner, when Texas was still in play?

Me-thinks Richardson stinks.

because he was showing his loyalty to Bill by not endorsing anybody

Carville Stands By ‘Judas’ Remark
By Patrick Healy

BLUE BELL, Pa. – James Carville, a political adviser to the Clintons, said this afternoon that he stood by his comment last Friday – Good Friday, to Christians – comparing Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico to Judas, even though a Clinton campaign aide said today that, if he were Mr. Carville, he would apologize for the remark.
“I was quoted accurately and in context, and I was glad to give the quote and I was glad I gave it,” Mr. Carville said. “I’m not apologizing, I’m not resigning, I’m not doing anything.”
Over the past Easter weekend, television news programs and other media outlets have heavily covered a remark that Mr. Carville made to The Times about Mr. Richardson’s endorsement of Senator Barack Obama. Given that Mr. Richardson held positions in the Clinton administration, and is a friend to Mrs. Clinton, the endorsement constituted an “act of betrayal,” Mr. Carville said.
Then he added this coup de grace:

“Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic,” Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.
Mr. Richardson shot back, saying that comment was the sort that some people around the Clintons tended to make.
Given the media play and replay, a reporter this afternoon repeatedly asked Howard Wolfson, Mrs. Clinton’s communications director, if Mr. Carville should apologize and if the Clinton campaign tolerated that sort of rhetoric.
At first Mr. Wolfson answered generally, saying that sort of language was not welcome, but in the end gave a fairly pointed answer.
“You’ll have to ask James if he wants to apologize,” he said. “If I had said it, I would apologize.”
So I called Mr. Carville again and asked if he wanted to revise his remarks or actually apologize. For several seconds he laughed – cackled might be more accurate – and then said he stood by his quote fully.

probably because he was trying to be diplomatic, I would bet something went on behind the scenes to piss Richardson off. I've always had a lot of respect for him

ps. Dick Morrris was a very trusted Clinton adviser, he saw the light as well

I think Hillary injecting the Rev. Wright issue and trying to play up racial divides is what made him go to the Obama side. If you listened to the speech he gave on the day he announced it he was pretty clear about the whole thing. He even used the term "Demonization" of illegal immigrants.

Dick Morris was basicly a republican, but he is good so the Clintons hired him out. He saw the light while he was taking their money. He is pretty open and honest about that point.
