At that time the U.S. did not know who had carried out the attack.
The U.S. was part of a multi national peacekeeping force.
Reagan made the right decision in Lebanon. He could have changed the mission and then invaded Lebanon and we would have enjoyed another Vietnam. The Soviets would have loved to have had us engaged in Lebanon.
Reagan did go after Iran, which is who was behind the attacks. Reagan destroyed their Navy, helped Saddam, etc..
Of course had Reagan stayed in Lebanon we would have lost many more and gained nothing.
Do you believe the U.S. should have stayed in Lebanon? |

Yeah, I gotta agree, Clinton was a great conservative. Putting welfare reforms, signing everything the Republican Senate put in, he was just fucking amazing. Still my favorite is Reagan cause he's the motherfucking Gipper (and while he didn't achieve nearly as much as what he hoped to achieve, I agreed with political views) :D!
