One thing I have learned after watching these politicians over the last 20 years or so, their default position is to lie. They tell the truth about half the time and only when it suits their personal interest. Trivial things like "laws" and "courts" and "oaths" only hold meaning when they can say how dear they hold these things at election time, or in front of a network camera.
This is why it matters to me what they are lying about. If they all lie all the time, are they lying about trivial matters (the sanctity of their "marriage") or important ones (Saddam loves al Qaeda)? I think this is why many of us like Barack Obama, he might be lying to us (like the rest of them are), but it doesn't sound like he is. Bah, who the fuck cares anyway.
