Quote: McCain's plan focuses on offering new tax breaks for individuals who buy their own health insurance. But critics say the Arizona senator's proposal avoids giving insurers requirements on whom they must cover and how much they may charge.
His plan would make it difficult for people with preexisting conditions, but who aren't covered by a government- or job-sponsored plan, to buy individual coverage, Edwards said.
Cancer survivors are routinely denied insurance when they try to purchase it as individuals, health experts say. |

You have to be "cancer free" for 10 years to be considered for new health insurance.
And we live in a great country why? |

US doctors support universal health care
"Many claim to speak for physicians and represent their views. We asked doctors directly and found that, contrary to conventional wisdom, most doctors support national health insurance," said Dr. Aaron Carroll of the Indiana University School of Medicine, who led the study. |

How about this -
Sen. Clinton's plan is a great plan" that closely resembles John Edwards' proposal, she said. Clinton's plan mandates that every American be insured.
Considering that Clinton's campaign found itself cash-strapped to the point where they fell behind on payments for their employees' health coverage, what great wisdom do John and Elizabeth Edwards have when it comes to health insurance? Under their grand mandated plan, Clinton's campaign would have been subject to federal fines because they couldn't foot their insurance bills.
Both Clinton and Edwards' mandated plans are bullshit. |

| Well I support neither of their plans, but she is still absolutely right that insurance companies refusing to give insurance to patients with pre-existing conditions is definitely wrong and should be prevented. This is one of the biggest problems with our healthcare. We have people who want insurance, and even have the money to get insurance, but they are denied. Absolute bullshit. |

While I agree that provisions for pre-existing conditions need to be addressed, it should not be a catch all. Somebody who smokes for 50 years and doesn't get health insurance until after he is diagnosed with lung cancer, I can understand insurance companies not wanting to cover that, kind of like buying auto insurance to cover your car after the accident. |

I am hoping that premiums for individual plans will become tax deductable. That is a major hole in our tax system right now. |

| McCain's wife is worth over $100 million. He doesn't give a shit about whether or not average Americans have access to health care. |
