I would do it, but try to switch a hitter with a pitcher instead of getting 4 hitters. |

Who should I pitch tomorrow? I can pitch one or both.
Sean Gallagher @ CWS
Daniel Cabrera @ Wash
I know neither are ideal matches but I need to throw one to hit the minimum innings.
Who do I go with? Thoughts.. |

| At this point in the season what do you do with J.J. Putz if you have him on your roster? I have him in a couple of non-keeper leagues and there are some decent closers on the wire plus he is eating up a DL spot. From what I have read, the prognosis is not good for his coming back anytime soon. |
|

| KingOfAllWhites |
How do you guys have closers on your wire?
I play in a 12 man league. Anybody with a chance of earning a save, is on a roster. |

If I had to pick somebody to start it would be Cabrera because the Nationals can't hit for shit. Like I said before I would only start Gallagher at Wrigley. |

Shallow league, 6 teams, 1 of which they guy does not manage. First time I have played in a small league like this one, brother in laws - for family reasons. Kinda sucks, every team is like an All Star Team. |

I need a one RBI from either:

There is your Young RBI and the ball game for the Rangers. Kept Madson in there way too long and now watch them score 2 runs in the 9th which would have tied the game.
What are you in 1st place now? |
|
|
| KingOfAllWhites |
| I have been in first place for over a month now. I had a 10.5 game lead going into this week. I win 7-4. I also made a $20 bet with the kid I am playing. He said he would beat me at least 8-4, so we bet $20. He obviously lost flat out so he loses his bet. Im keeping it rolling baby. Thanks ALC!!!:hw: |

| I am in first place of our SFN roto league and second in Ferrall roto league, but last in the H2H SFN league as half my team is on the DL or just flat out suck. I know it isn't for money, but you should at least try one league out next year. |

I am in first place, up by 8.5 games. I am not at all confident and realize how long of a season it is. We have 12 teams at $100 per team. |

| im in a six team league, $50 each. im in third. its head to head, and the guy in first is up by a ton. and he doesnt know shit about baseball. he just makes a million free agency moves. we have no limit. i fucking hate the people im playing with. |

I'm in a 10-team head-to-head league with the same guys I've been playing fantasy baseball with for about eight years now. We each put in $100 and award winnings to the top 3 teams. I won the league last year in a runaway, and was second the year before, but am having a difficult go of it this season. I'm in eighth place out of 10 even though my team has scored the second most total points in the league. That's called terrible luck. Plus I've had some very inconsistent play especially from my starting pitchers. To excel in my league you really need at least two dominant starting pitchers that you can count on every week. I drafted Cole Hamels and Verlander to be those guys so you can see why my team is faltering. On the bright side I'm only 5 games back of the team in first place so there is time to catch up but my team needs to get more consistent and string together a few wins first, which is something I've been unable to do. Seems like every time I win two games I turn around and lose three. Terrible.
One guy who is just killing me is Miguel Cabrera. I thought he'd have a monster year in Detroit but he's been a dog. |

Yeah, he's an oaf. The Tigers are killing me. I drafted both Cabrera and Verlander to anchor my team. They're anchoring it alright -- in the cellar!!! |

| Verlander has been awful. My friend has him in our league. Verlander was like 2-5 and he refused to trade him, being like I am going to weather the ship and I know he will turn it around. Partly because he saw me pick up CC after the first 5 starts and look how he returned to form. Then about 3 weeks ago, he makes a post that Verlander is on the market. Too bad right now he is not worth a box of balls. He is a moron and it was the complete opposite thing you wanted to do. He would have gotten more 6 weeks ago then he would get today. Then again, thats why he fighting for 8th in a 12 man league |

| This thread has been dead of late. What's up, you fucks? I just picked up Francisco Liriano on waivers. What do you all think? He was dominant two years ago, then got hurt last year. Can he recover his old form? I think he's worth the risk if you've got a spare roster spot. Who's with me? |
|
|
| KingOfAllWhites |
Definately worth the roster spot if you can spare it. However I would not expect ANYTHING from him. He was out of the bigs for what, almost 2 years? He did make a few brief appearances to start the season, I believe and got rocked!
I definately would not start him his first few outings. As I said, I would not expect anything from him. |
|
|
| A.Lang=Crazy |
| Liriano is 7-2 with a 3.53 era in Triple AAA and 3-0 with a 0.00 era his last 3 starts with 24 K in 20 innings so it looks like he is close to becoming a quality starter again. He will probably get called up after the All-Star break. |
|
|
| KingOfAllWhites |
Here is my situation, I have 2 starters going. Lincecum and CC.
I am up 2 wins, tied in losses, down .02 in ERA and up .6 in WHIP. I am going to start CC at home vs Cin and let Lincecum @ Chi sit on my bench. I know its crazy to bench a guy with 10 wins and sub 2.75 ERA but I think it is my best matchup.
I am also sitting Orlando Hudson today and starting Mark Derosa in his place. I see that game in Philly being a BIG TIME dual. I think Hamels goes lights out before the break. |

I know the Giants are shitty but you should never bench Lincecum. He really is one of the best pitchers in the game right now despite playing on a bad team. |

Keep an eye out for David Price SP for the Rays. He was the #1 overall pick in 2007.
He is 8-0 with a 1.92 era in 65 2/3 innings, 54 hits, 17 walks, and 62 K in the minors this year. He should be in the Rays rotation in about a month.
Also Gio Gonzalez is set to replace Blanton in the A's rotation.
He is 4-0 with a 0.95 era his last 4 starts with 34 K in 28 1/3 innings. |

It depends on who is available to pick up in your league. I know Harang is having a bad year but, unless he's hurt, there is always a chance he can change direction in the second half. Clearly he's got the ability. The waiver wire in my league is bone-dry of any sort of talent so I would probably keep a guy like Harang on my roster simply because there aren't any better options available. |
|
|
| KingOfAllWhites |
Thats funny you guys mention Harang. I was just offered Harang and Jeff Franceour for Aramis Ramirez. I was laughing so hard that I had to hit reject before I even finished laughing.

a lot of those losses arent his fault. the era has blown up over the past 4 or 5 starts but there was a while he had an era in the low 3's and the team would lose it for him. there were so many 3-2 4-3 3-1 losses it sucked. |

I say it's gotta help. He's a streaky hitter but is capable of putting up great numbers. It's not like he's coming in to rescue this team so I don't think there will be a lot of pressure on him to do great. That might be enough, along with the change of scenery and the excitement of playing for the Yankees, to allow him to play well. At least for a while. He is streaky. |

| When are the Twins bringing up Liriano? Picked him up in a couple of leagues but still waiting. |
|
|
| MrFlubbins |
There is a war going on in one of my leagues regarding a trade, which has been vetoed twice already. Looking for some feedback from unbiased sources. This is a 6 team league which is extremely shallow.
Team A
Brian McCann
Miguel Cabrera
B.J. Upton
David Wright
Hanley Ram_rez
Mark Teixeira
Josh Hamilton
Carl Crawford
Bobby Abreu
Manny Ram_rez
Matt Kemp
Brian Roberts
Hunter Pence
Jacoby Ellsbury
Rafael Furcal
Roy Halladay
Tim Hudson
Mariano Rivera
B.J. Ryan
Trevor Hoffman
Rich Harden
Carlos Zambrano
Brandon Lyon
Aaron Harang
Erik Bedard
Shaun Marcum
Francisco Liriano
Chien-Ming Wang
Chris Young
Team B
Ryan Doumit
Prince Fielder
Dustin Pedroia
Evan Longoria
José Reyes
Carlos Delgado
Ryan Braun
Lance Berkman
Grady Sizemore
Carlos Lee
Álex R_os
J.J. Hardy
David Ortiz
Shane Victorino
Chone Figgins
Ryan Church
Daisuke Matsuzaka
Jon Lester
Matt Cain
Jonathan Papelbon
Billy Wagner
Kevin Gregg
Matt Garza
Ted Lilly
Mark Buehrle
Joe Saunders
Chris Volstad
Jon Rauch
Mike Pelfrey
Takashi Saito
The deal is was:
Team B gives:
Lance Berkman
Carlos Lee
Team A gives:
Matt Kemp
Brandon Lyon
Team A gets Team B's 16 and 19 pick in next years draft.
Team B gets Team A's 2 and 12 pick in next years draft.
Team A is in first place, Team B is in second behind by only 5.5 games.
Thought among some is that the trade is lopsided, gives one team on unfair advantage as Team a will have 4 of the top 10 outfielders in baseball. Also, some suspect collusion between the two teams in question because why would team B give A such an advantage when there is still a race.
Any thoughts? |

apparantly, last week when i was drinking, i tried to put together some trades. i was trying to package manny with ricky nolasco (prior to his 13 k game last night, obviously). i tried to get ben sheets or cc sabathia. one guy just accepted the trade for sheets and its going to a league vote. good move/bad move?
my outfield is decent
Grady Sizemore
Carlos Quentin
Xavier Nady
Hunter Pence
(Manny)
pitching has been killing me all season. got hit hard with injuries
Johan Santana
Matt Garza
(Ricky Nolasco)
Mike Mussina
Francisco Rodriguez
Salomón Torres
Josh Beckett
Mike Pelfrey
Gavin Floyd
Kerry Wood
Chris Carpenter
Brad Penny
Adam Wainwright
and who should i start this week: pelfrey (v. SD, i picked him up this week for the matchup) or beckett (v. KC) |

Looking for some keeper advice, thanks in advance for any help.
Shallow 6 team mixed league, we can keep 9 players. I have 8 so far that I know I want to keep:
Justin Morneau
Jason Bay
Ian Kinsler
Ryan Ludwick
Álex R_os
Nate McLouth
Cliff Lee
Ben Sheets
I am debating on the 9th, either Geovanny Soto or Alexei Ramirez? I am leaning towards Ramirez because it is a shallow league and it seems like Catchers are always available, Ryan Doumit is on the wire right now. Advice? |

I would keep Soto. He is going to be one of the best hitting catchers in the league and you already have Kinsler a Top 20 player at 2b. I think Ramirez might be a fluke too. |

He was 12-1 with a 2.30 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 109 2/3 innings at three different minor-league levels in his first professional season. He might not help you out this year, but pick him up if you’re in a keeper league. |
