- Will Artie be there or not?

HOW IMPORTANT IS THIS?
- How will the potential loss of Artie effect the show? What would the ramifications be?
- Is Artie more important to the show than Jackie was? Billy? John? KC? Why, what's the difference?
- Do you want Artie back? I was shocked to learn that there are Stern fans out there that don't.

WAS IT REALLY THAT BIG OF A DEAL?
- Artie didn't even hit him. Why is everyone all up in arms?
- Some people feel Artie was way out of line and others think it was just great radio. Is this the normal craziness you expect from the Stern Show or have things gone too far?
- The word we're getting is that Artie has already apologized to Teddy and Teddy's already made it very clear that he holds no ill will towards Artie or Sirius. Can they just have Artie back in on Monday business as usual?
WHO'S TO BLAME? (LINK)
- Is Howard to blame like Artie said? Howard himself said he loves when people fight only minutes before the incident but is this what he was talking about?
- Who apologizes to who? Who cops an attitude?
WHAT TO DO NEXT?
- Does Artie need to do something to make this up to Howard? To his co-workers? To Sirius? To the fans? If not, why not? If so, what?
- Should there be conditions for an Artie return? Should he have to go to anger management or rehab or someplace like that before he is back on the show.
WHO'LL SIT IN THE ARTIE CHAIR? (LINK)
- If Artie does not come back (god forbid) & if Howard decides to try out people in the Artie chair like he did w/ Jackie, who all should get a shot? Should Howard even bother, meaning, is someone even needed?

ARTIE CONSPIRACIES
- I've heard interviews from several of Artie's friends saying that they hope this is a wakeup call and he gets his act together. What do you think is going on with Art? What's Teddy stealing? Is there pressure from the book, the house, the gigs? Is he sick of the show laughing at his expense? Drugs? heartache over Dana? Is it the weight? What's your take on it?

- Howard pulled the replay & the Howard TV footage. Second guess the man, was it a mistake or what was needed? Was Howard right for thinking about what's best for Artie over what the fans wanted? In the long run, was pulling the replay best for the fans too?

CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. once you've been around for awhile ask to be on the show and pick a date. there's a schedule posted in every brainstorming thread.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Chaunce (I know, I know) told another Stern board that "his source at Sirius" says that Howard will announce a two-week suspension for Artie.
But that it's a cover story so Sirius can work out a financial contract buyout and then terminate Artie as an employee.
From anyone else, I'd say that would be a pretty accurate portrayal of what's probably going to happen.
Even coming from Chaunce, I'd say it's probably 2:1 odds that it's what happens. |

I do remember Artie saying once that his deal after his first year at Sirius was just like it was at Krock. Same money, but that he could walk away from the job whenever he wanted.
It'll definitely be interesting to see how it plays out, because if he did resigned then there shouldn't be any buy out from Sirius. |

a slimmed-down, healthy artie would inject the show with something that perhaps it's been lacking of late.
howard loves artie. nearly everyone loves artie. for that reason i think that both howard and sirius will do everything within their power to keep him, while still covering their legal bases.
i think that artie knows full well that once you're off the show, your audience base shrinks to a trickle of what it once was (cf: Jackie Marlowe.)
artie has spoken many times about how he never wanted to do anything to disappoint howard, after all he's done for him. he went too far this time, and probably feels like shit for doing the one thing he NEVER wanted to do - let howard down.
i sincerely hope he gets another chance. but more than anything, i hope that artie can get his life back on track and become the kind, caring, and successful person he's got the gift to be. if that means severing ties with the show, so be it. the show will go on.
call him a hack, call him a genius, it doesn't matter. he's a part of our world, and for that reason, we should all be rooting for him. |

what made that asshole's story fishy was that he mentioned artie's contract being bought out. artie's contract ran out this past jan. |

This guy charles was saying that it wasn't an HR issue up until the point Howard asked artie not to do it again and artie said he couldn't. He said that what artie actually did wasn't a big deal. Mutt shut him down saying that he had the story wrong, but if this guy were to be right as to how the events happened (hypothetically speaking), how is it that it wasn't an HR issue up until that moment when Howard talked to Artie? |
