The Super Fan Roundtable Brainstorming threads are where with your help I plan the upcoming weeks show. What are the topics the fans feel we should cover?
Looks like we are doing 2 roundtables this week. Tonight will be a special all Artie show. The only guest I have booked so far is Pedro. Who else wants in? I'd like a strong panel.

- Ralph had a record number of 21 calls Monday. Should they just break down and give him the ISDN?

- Even if you love him, most people agree his calls have been out of control this week. Is it time for a moratorium on Ralph calls?

Howard says his fans are a bunch of fuckheads. Are the fans offended? Are we fuckheads?
ARTIE EXPLAINS THE TEDDY ISSUE
Artie gave a better explanation today about why he got so mad at teddy. He borrowed money 6 months ago and instead of trying to pay him back, he went on a trip to Amsterdam. Not that excuses his behavior but do you understand why Artie got so mad?

MONDAY TOPICS
Artie is back & it doens't appear that he's in any trouble. The fans can rejoice!!
From most anticipated to most anticlimactic. All the fans sat on the edge of their seats waiting to soak in every detail of what happened with Artie and within the first hour they were already playing Bill Mahr clips, talking about the Pope, Robin's dress, & Riley's contract, and had a guest in right after the first break. Fans seem disappointed expecting more details but Howard & Artie ask what more could they do?
A woman called in and gave Howard a hard time for wrapping up the Artie discussion so quickly. it got them back on it and they finished out the entire segment with Artie talk. what more could they have discussed? what questions were left unanswered?
is Howard coddling Artie or just trying to put all this ugliness behind him?
Fred says Artie really needs to seek some help. Artie says he's absolutely right and admitted that he's been running away from therapy his whole life. Thankfully, Artie said he made an appointment with the shrink. He couldn't do it for Dana, will he be able to do it now? (I'm hoping he does it for himself and it winds up helping him in both departments)
Artie OK's replaying the audio & the Howard TV footage. The Howard TV website says the footage will be on tonight at midnight and the 4-10-08 show will air on Sirius this weekend.
After talking to Artie, Gary felt that it really was over. Did you guys think he was gone this time?

CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. We have 4 people on each show and I try to make at least one of them a brand new person who's never been on. You can make your requests here in the Super Fan Roundtable forum or you can email them here.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. (Google MAP) Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

yes, after a week of the howard 100 news hyping up that you need to listen monday, I expected some sort of new information. we learned absolutely nothing. everything said was vague. where were the details? Look at the way about HALF of the "fans" on here talk about the show and complain. Can you blame Howard? This site is a bitchfest. A little constructive criticism is good but I wonder why some of these people call themselves fans. |

I agree with it. we are fuckheads. some more than others.
at the same time, we're also great and there have been plenty of times that Howard has said how great the fans are. just a couple weeks ago he was talking about how he knows his fans would vote him #1 on dancing with the stars. he wouldn't even have to dance. his fans are just that great. there was something else he said just last week about how he loves the fans. Artie also said today that the fans show'd him so much love he got choked up.
just like here at SFN, sometimes we love the show & sometimes we're pissed at it. why should we expect any different from their end? |

| The show has always been about mercilessly picking at the miseries of everyone. No one cut Fred any slack when they beat him to death with the Rainbow Room dinner fight with his wife. Bababooey regularly gets bashed. Scott Salem is constantly belittled. Jackie, Cabbie, Stuttering John, the list goes on...they've all been dragged through the mud. But Artie is the "Teflon Comic" who can do anything and then show up on Monday like nothing happened. I don't get it. |

This is not the best approach around here... but I do have to say something about Mutt.
I've been here a long time and Mutt truly is a "Super Fan" when it comes to the show. Years ago when SFN had zero ties to Sirius, Mutt never bashed the show on any level. The reason he created this place was to mirror his own fandom. |

i haven't been following what is going on with you two but i do know what happened after the roundtable because I was there. Nothing even remotely close to pathetic happened. We all went out, had a great time then went home. nothing close to scandalous happened. |

Just finished listening to today's show. That nonsense about the "real" Robin and the Robin "on-air persona" proves that she's the same bat-shit crazy cunt that's supposed to have been the "old" Robin.
Howard asked her to explain the comment about her on-air persona not being the "real Robin" and she responds that she's not like Howard who can be anyone he wants on the air and that she's just Robin all the time.
First, that's the exact opposite of her TV statement...sounds like she's taking the Sal Governale School of Rhetorical Argument.
Second, forget anything Robin's ever said or done on the air. She's disgusting for all of her behavior OFF the air...torturing interns, barely acknowledging people who worked for her for months, the witchcraft, enemas, zero consideration for others in general, and endless other holistic bullshit that nobody with any common sense would ever try.
News Flash: People who get involved in charities because they genuinely give a shit about others tend to exhibit kindness, thoughtfulness, and a lack of self-centeredness in GENERAL throughout their lives FIRST and then branch out to charitable organizations SECOND.
Being a considerate respectful person of others in general comes first, way before genuinely giving a shit about total strangers in foreign places. Celebrity douchebags who do it for self promotion and publicity treat others like shit in general and then suddenly become advocates of kindness and generosity in public.
I am forever mystified that anybody considers the "on air" Robin to be talented in any recognizable way or thinks that the "real" Robin is anything but a psychotic cunt who lucked out because she has a laugh that reminded Howard of his mother's laugh when they first met.

I totally agree. This is an issue of workplace violence. People have the right to feel safe at work. I like Artie but the situation sets a very dangerous precedent. They never talked about what Sirius made Artie do / promise / sign to get Sirius off the hook if (God forbid) there is a future incident.
Another topic might be Artie talking about embracing a gay child (during the Neil Patrick Harris interview). In general, Artie has been participating more this week than before the vacation. Is this a kinder gender Artie? Is he just being on his best behavior? Did this whole blow up cause Artie to become more introspective? How long will it really last? |
