Hello, I've got a big road trip to make tonight and go figure, every 5 seconds my s50 cuts in and out.
is that a problem with my antenna or because my s50 doesn't have the latest update?
someone with an s50 let me know asap! hopefully its just the antenna instead of the unit itself

| ATTENTION!!!!!! I got a message from Sirius on the 18th saying that it was important for S50 users to go to the site for an update to AVOID INTURRUPTIONS IN SERVICE....hell Ive been using a Stlietto for over a year and even I knew what was going on with the s50 |

Weed, we all got the message about updating the S-50...but I don't think that's the issue here. The signal is cutting in and out. The signal strength is very low. No update is going to help you with your reception.
My opinion is that this happens sometimes. It's happened many times before with my S-50, and the problem usually fixes itself, lending me to believe that it's not a problem specific to the hardware, it's external.
I, for one, was having a problem with the signal cutting in and out. It seemed to get less frequent as the day wore on. My signal strength is very low. I have not done the S-50 update. |

Yeah, I've got one of those big mount on the side of your house antennas. Three bars the whole time and keep getting 1 - 2 second dropouts on my Stilleto. |

I have the S50 and had that problem this morning too, while I was trying to find out about KKK.
Came into work and had no problem streaming. Siruis customer service said that there should be no problems with the S50 until June if you don't get to update right away. Who knows if that is the case... |

| You have to update it. The sent out all kinds of emails and phone calls telling you to update or else you would have problems. |

| I've got the Sirius Conductor with an outdoor antenna. The signal bar shows full strength, and I'm getting 2-3 second dropouts every few minutes. |

Yeah, the signal cut in and out for me this morning too. Thought it might have been a bad antennae cord connection, which was the same thing that happened to the JVC car equipment I had for 3 years. |

| My starmate has been acting up for the past 2 hours I've been listening. It will play fine & the signal will drop for a few seconds, signal comes back in and drops like 2 minutes later. I was about to take my antenna and throw it out the damn window. I'm at work and my antenna is by a window on my desk and doesn't have the best reception, but when it does go out I can move it a little and it will come back in. No such luck today. |

This problem surfaces it seems everytime they change the transmission parameters. Someone told me that because the S50 was the first generation of portable the firmware wasn't what it should be, requiring updates everytime the transmission protocols change.
Update your firmware, reset channels, you are good to go. |

Same here. Getting signal dropout for a few seconds even though the radios are saying two or three bars. This last happened a few mintes ago.

| I think the S50's were so faulty they discontinued them. When I had to send back my SECOND S50 because it took a shit, they sent me a Stiletto 100 instead. |

I received the same email from Sirius about updating the s50. I now have the stiletto since the s50 crapped out 2 months after the warranty expired.
I was having signal problems on Thurs and Fri. It was cutting out like other people said. Must be them and not us. |

Same situation, except my normal reception is 6 bars, then it drops to 3 and I lose my signal. Happened throughout night of 4/25, but appears to be ok on morning of 4/26.

| I did the update and I keep getting 'No Signal' or 'Acquiring Signal' for the past week. I'll need to get the user's manual and find out how to reset my channels and hope that fixes it. I bought a new antennae thinking that was it and my signal is nothing. |
