Lately, my radio has been "acquiring signal" when it still has bars. Does this mean my radio is starting to go?

my radio started doing the same thing on Thursday. a friend at work said his radio was dropping out too. music channels were not dropping out, channels 1-23, maybe they're on another satellite.

Yeah, but you can miss a sentence or two--which is ridiculous...it's been doing it for a couple days now; someone needs to correct it. |

This is not something that someone can fix. its sun spots. it affects satellite reception certain times of year.

GAR-BAGE
I've also been having the same issues since Thursday, but only with Howard 100 and Howard 101. I contacted Sirius Customer Support this morning and was informed by the young lady that answered my call that Sirius is in the middle of programming channel lineup changes and that this type of interruped service will continue through the weekend, but should not be an issue by Monday morning. This situation also happened around mid November, but didn't last more than a day, as Sirius performed performed lineup changes.
I further inquired why this would only affect channels 100 and 101, however this question was beyond the scope of her script. She further commented that an incident would be created and I am entitled to a credit for the days covered under the complaint. For me, it would be more trouble than it's worth to claim the credit.
If this were a "solar event" paired with the equinox, I believe that all channels would be affected, not just 100 and 101. Also, the satellites are not in a geosynchronus orbit, so this should also mitigate the effect.
I of course wish this didn't affect 100 and 101, but there must be some technical explanation for all of this. I would imagine that Howard would not be pleased with this situation, but that life in the digital age.
As of now, I'm listening to Howard 100 for the past 25 minutes and no drop-outs thus far. Life is good !

You may wish to start a new subject for your question, however where would you be doing most of your listening? I have the ST-4 and previously a Sanyo unit. I don't know too much about the Stiletto units, so that's why it may be best to create a new thread for your question.

I use a Stilletto 100... got it about a year ago. Works great and I'm not a heavy iPod type user so it works great for that too. I'd look at one of those or the new version 2.
