Was just watching Artie's first-ever appearance on the Show when Norm MacDonald was on.

Great appearance by both of them, but Artie started telling a great story about being arrested, and every time he quotes someone, they cut away to some lame actor "interpreting" the story. He's arguably one of the greatest storytellers on the radio and they chop it all up and mess up his flow.

What the hell is that and who thought that was a good idea???

Agreed!!! It annoyed the shit out of me. Just let Artie do his thing. Don't interrupt the friggin story.

I didn't recognize any of the actors and they don't do that with newer shows, so my guess is that this is what E! did when they first aired it and that's all they have left of the footage.

whoever thought it was a good idea, be it at E! or HTV seriously needs to be fired. i've never seen such a lame and cheesy reenactment. i felt bad for the "actors" involved and i felt bad for my TV since it had to process such shittyness.

either way, i bet doug thought it was a fantastic idea!

The re-enactment was stupid as hell, but Artie and Norm were HILARIOUS. It also made me realize that Howard seems to have mellowed over the years.
