This will probably get hauled over to the Political forum, but before it does I wanted to see what you guys thought about this.
I've heard that a LOT of dumb-ass Democrats will vote Republican if their chosen candidate doesn't win the nomination. :ra:
I think if we want the fucking Republicans out of office, whoever wins the Democratic nomination will have to take the loser on as Vice President. :dontknow: |

Nope.
He doesnt need her as his vice president. Too many other great possibilities to choose from.
I'm afraid Some creepy radical feminazi pig would probably wish to cause harm to him in order elevate her to prez.
He should look elsewhere for a running mate.
JOhn Edwards!
That would be a great ticket for the dems.
Obama
Edwards. |

Would be a step down for Hillary to be vice president but a step up for Obama.
I can see Obama being vice president but not the other way around. |

No way ... they have attacked each other too much & there will be issues from day #1
Obama vs McCain & it comes down to how many skeletons come out of Obamas closet
Its that simple IMO
The country is willing to vote a black man but not one with issues, if more stuff comes out like his preacher & his wife being almost militant in past quotes its McCain in a very racially divided election |

I can kinda see it either way, I guess. I just can't believe there are any Dems out there who are so fervently for their candidate (or against the other candidiate) that they would vote Republican if their choice didn't win the nomination. :freak:
Another term with a Republican president and we are all doomed. :ra: |

I agree.
The vast majority of Dems like both candidates.
I really dont think McCain will win but I never underestimate Republican presidential campaigns nor the stupidity of the American voter. |

| Hilary would never sign on to be the VP under Obama but I could see it going the other way and that would be one hell of a ticket. |

It would indeed, because guess what?? She IS going to get the nomination, and not him. That's because the Super Delegates are there to ensure that the candidate with the best chance of beating the Republican candidate gets the nomination. And, sorry all you 'Obama 08' tee-shirt wearing and 'Obama 08' bumper sticker assholes, the man is simply not going to beat John McCain (or anybody for that matter) in the general election. I am not racist, but he IS a black man, and Middle America and white Southern Democrats will end up voting for McCain over Obama. Like it or not, it's just that simple (still). If Barack gets the Democratic nomination, The Republicans will have a landslide like 1984 (when Reagan beat Mondale) and 1988 (when Bush Sr. beat Dukakis). Trust me. If anyone wants to avoid Bush III (which is what McCain would be), better get behind Hillary. |

Yeah, but that's the problem for hillary, I think. If she could overtake him in regular pledged delegates, I believe most Obama backers would vote hillary in the general election.
But if she gets the nomination via the superdelegates at the convention, then it's going to be/seem like a bag job. The Obama supporters will feel cheated and, they'll either vote against her, or just not vote at all in November. |

Obama has to take Clinton as his running mate. It's the only thing that will unite the Democratic party. What is to stop her from breaking off from the Democrats and running as an Independent? She arguably has enough popular votes to be a serious threat to Obama in the general election, much more so than a Ron Paul type.
There will be a backroom deal in Denver.
Obama/Clinton '08
Right now she's the key to the election |

She can not over take him in pledged delegates, and Obama can not get the majority right now.
The only chance she has is at the convention. |

What a lot of people are forgetting here is that you do not have to be friends with your VP candidate in order to have a winning ticket. There have been plenty of occassions where the two differed on a lot of things, and did not get along.
JFK and LBJ couldn't stand each other. I don't think FDR was so fond of Harry Truman, I think he barely knew his name ;) . And if you go back to the beginning, the man who lost the Presidential election was automatically the Vice President!
So could Clinton and Obama be running mates? Sure. Will they do it... not likely. But if the situation warrants it, they may have to. If they did come together they would certainly be unbeatable. |

| If they share the ticket I see it as a huge win for Republicans, it would IMO give the impression to voters that the primary process is a bunch of busllshit, and that candidates are interchangeable. |
