I was more in the middle again, and then Hillary says something so dopey on TV. She was on with George Stephanopoulos and she was asked if there were any credible economists who support her position on suspending the gas tax.
First she dodged the question like a good politician, and then she said she's not listening to the economists. Isn't this how we got in trouble to begin with?

And notice Zimmie posted a thread bashing Obama's stance on of the gas holiday. He completely ignores that this idea has little support among congress and other experts. Hillary and McSame are pandering. They are telling the people what they think they want to hear. This is the same old politics.
Obama is taking a stance that is looking into the long run. Of course Zimmie couldn't support this type of thinking, he is a Bush apologist. |

That's it...listen to no one. Do whatever you want no matter the effect.
Clinton certainly has learned a lot over these last 8 years of "FUCK the PEOPLE"
The same 'ol politics are not working anymore and the people are on the verge of revolting. |

| Maybe I'm crazy but isn't Hillary asking the gas companies to pay the taxes? What's stopping the gas companies from raising prices to match the taxes. Stupid fucking plan. This is just half-assed like instead of actually fixing the economy just sending everyone a 600 dollar check. |

Obama said Sunday on Meet the Press that he had voted for a fuel tax suspension in the past but it did not work. Obviously, he can learn from a mistake and own up to it.
Sounds like the best choice for President. |

Oh no! Changing your mind is "flip-flopping" and we can't have that. |

I saw that interview and was very impressed by his answers. He, definitely, can admit past mistakes and show that he has learned from them. Hilliary still won't admit her vote for war with Iraq was a mistake. |

Obama reaffirmed my decision to vote for him.
He answered everything completely. It was a good interview.
His answers should, once and for all, put the Wright controversy to bed. |

The gas tax holiday is the stupidest idea ever. There is nothing there to guarantee that the oil companies won't just put it in their pocket, or that individual gas stations won't do the same. Any version of this type of bill that somehow makes it to the President with a windfall tax on the oil companies will be vetoed; the President is a lame duck and wouldn't care what it looked like if he vetoed something like this.
All the noise about this makes me think that McCain put this idea out there to give Hillary and Obama something else to fight about, cause he hasn't said much about it since he came up with it. |

How come you guys are opposed to giving federal subsidies to oil companies for exploration? 18 billion dollars....They'd just charge it back to us if they didn't receive it right? |

Right. So what is your point? Taxpayers are somehow getting an advantage by giving the energy industry 18 Billion in welfare? Our overall energy bill would go up by 18 Billion? Maybe people would get serious about conservation and new energy technology. We should only be giving these kinds of subsidies to new industries that are serious about innovating new technology or making some other kind of contribution to the people. Most of these guys are just putting the money in their pockets. |
