In here I ask the Stern fans for help planning the weeks show. What are the hot topics?
This weeks guests are Michelle Ferrall, Irish John, ALI-D from www.ArtieLangeIsDead.com (newbie, non SFNer) & ClumpyStern
PLANTED PLUGS
- Are the almost daily "I love HTV" calls planted infomercials?
- Are the crew really into Iron Man or are they just another sponsor being spoon fed to us? (my take, Howard has been excited about the iron Man movie for a real long time. it's real and probably the reason they went after Sirius. On the flip side, Transformers was a sponsor and Howard sorta took a shit on it. it wasn't until later that he actually watched it and got into it.)

- Miss Black Howard Stern is being ignored by the Stern Show but she wants to plug her band. (and everything else) They'd like to have her in to get naked but she won't comply. What else could they have her do for these plugs?

VIP INTERNS
- Antonio Pierce worked Wednesday as an intern and the discussion with him dominated the day. Was it too much and slowed down the show or was it fun and they should do something like this all the time?
- An SFN Poll found that 80% felt that Antoni Pierce was the most interesting guest in awhile and it was becasue they liked him not becasue they were shitting on the other guests. It's rare to find that kind of overwhelming positivity on any Stern moment. almost everything is divided. if they did a VIP intern again, would it get the same response? What made this time good?
BABACOCKY
- Is Gary getting too cocky?
- Is he getting an attitude with the staff? With the wrap up show callers?
- How can he be the producer and not listen to the show? Week after week he comes in to say something that they just said or ask a question they just explained. He's getting as bad as Ralph. Does he need a comeuppance from Howard to keep him honest?

GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. We have 4 people on each show and I try to make at least one of them a brand new person who's never been on. You can make your requests here in the Super Fan Roundtable forum or you can email them here.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. (Google MAP) Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Howard will never take the show on the road again. He is too comfortable sitting in the Sirius studio everyday and then going back home to be in bed by 8pm.

might be a good one.
I get what they are saying about all the great places you can hit in NYC but it was movie night. movie night is always a quickie dinner at a chain or pizza place so you aren't late for the movie. not the time to hit a place where you might get stuck waiting for a table or your food. plus, it's connected to the movie place. made perfect sense to me. besides, it's a good place for drinks & apps.
now that being said, I've never gone to one of those chains in NYC. too many great places to hit. :)
at home though, sure and NYC is Richards home. every time you go out can't be a huge big money dinner. some times you just need to grab something to eat. it's not like they went to burger king.
and I know what richard means by playing it safe. sometimes you aren't feeling adventurous and want a good meal without risking going to some place new where it might suck. |

FYI, Lisa G is friends with Miss Black Howard Stern. As far as I know, they knew each other from before the contest. she invited her to the cookie party & brought her to ronnie's block party.
I doubt she's behind the recent anti-MBHS stuff. |

I’m along time Howard Stern show fan (in all its forms) that from time to time would check into SFN for the latest news and those amazing pics/gifs. I never blogged or posted on forums be fore, but the last couple of months the vicious and unprovoked attacks of show staff, regulars, VIP’S has gotten to the point that couldn’t take it anymore! I’m not rich, smart or very funny (insert joke here), but in a small way I’d like to try be good fan who wants to support the show. I’ll love the show” till the day I die!” Ok, enough of that crap!! Questions; What’s with all the competing web sites and forums I’m hearing about? (Artie, mis-men, fartto, ect.) Is it about plugs, money, and power or are the just getting set up for post Stern days?

I don't think anyone is looking forward to the post stern days yet.
the fartto site came about becasue he saw potential in SFN to make money. when I told him I wasn't interested in his plans, he started working on his own site that could take our traffic and make money with. he hit a couple different people with various plans before he settled down where he is. he comes right out and tells you it's all about business, getting paid, plugs, & sponsors. I didn't want to be associated with that kind of business plan. I understand thats what it takes to make money on the net but I'd rather not piss off howard and keep our fan site in their good graces.
the artie site was made by the guys who do howard's site. they used to handle our ads. they came to me with plans of making $50 grand a month in ad sales and considering that they were Howard's guys I figured we'd be in the clear. after working with them for more than a year, I got dog piss jones for money and talking ipod ads that annoyed people. I think they got too busy with other projects. I finally parted ways with them. it appears that they gave artie the same pep talk. he said on air that the numbers sound really good and fully admitted that he's trying to make a couple bucks. he'll even be selling ringtones. at the same time he said that even if the money doesn't pan out, it's going to be a really nice updated schedule of his gigs which is something that's he's sorely been needing. hopefully they'll actually be able to perform for him. with his name & plug power I'm confident they will be able to succeed for him where they failed for us. I don't know how long the forum will last. I think that will probably become too much of a headache like Howard's official board did and get deleted but everything else will continue on and it's still gonna be a nice site for fans with blogs and videos.
as for the mis men board, they felt that the members here were too mean & the staff didn't do enough to censor peoples negative opinions. they've decided to make their own site where they can interact with fans without the haters. they said on air that they will have lots of mods and will do ip bans on the haters. bob did this once before years ago but he eventually dumped it. perhaps he'll take what he learned from that run & make something better this time around. I'm not sure how they plan to have a hatter free site when it's called fuck you sfn but they must have some sort of plan.
the BTLSfan board came around becasue the SFN bubba mod wanted his own bubba board. he started doing things to sabotage SFN & at the same time was talking to people about making a new site. fartto was one of them. i confronted him several times trying to make things work becasue the darksiders liked him but when I was contacted by a BRN VIP and told that if we didn't part ways with him they'd part ways with us, there wasn't anything more I could do. he was a pain in the ass anyway. I tired letting him go gracefully but he blew up with lies and nastiness. one of the darksiders made a new site. it had a shaky start and there was lots of battling with SFN. they eventually dumped the guy we dumped when they realized he was full of bullshit and after they started advertising on bubba's site it's grown pretty well since then.
what I've learned after doing this site all these years is that the net is full of tons of stern fans. we get 500,000 unique visitors each month and only a small sliver of them post. there's plenty of net room for other boards. we've seen alot of them come and go over the years. There are also several more private boards out there we don't even hear about. just small groups of 50 or so friends bullshitting about the show in their own world.

You can use the planted plugs discussion to segue into a discussion about how the only calls they take seem to be overly positive. The "radio gold" crap and the "that was so hot I had to pull over and rub one out" calls are the worst. Pretty sad that WUS takes better calls that THSS.
As for Miss Black Howard Stern not taking her clothes off. Neither did Andrea. They put the full court press on her numerous times and couldn't get her naked. She only rode the sybian once she was nearly passed out drunk. For the Wheel of JD, they should make her have to dry hump him. |

Comedians like having their jokes laughed at. They don't like being the joke. As for trying to weed out haters and only having postitive things on the site, I wish him luck. IP blocking is only effective for people with a static IP. Most of us have standard cable and DSL. Those get IP's dynamically. Simply rebooting your router or modem gets you a new IP. Mults will have no trouble getting in. Why spend a bunch of money on multiple people moderating 24/7 when there aren't going to be many people visiting that site?
What makes this site so good is that it is relatively open. You aren't going to get banned for simply saying something negative about anyone. I don't go to fartto's site, but I guarantee that you can't say the slightest criticism about ETM without getting banned. Say the exact stuff that Fred said and you're gone in an instant. |

Thanks Mutt for all the answers!! Well you have the one thing those guys will never have or be able to get and that is (Howard) Stern’s name and complete approval. That’s all I needed to hear. As soon as I get back on my feet I’ll become a supporter and maybe I beg Doctor Ivan, ocsarf, Dawg or even dickybendy (who are gods to me and my friends) to do me the honor of a costume avatar. Hopefully in time I can become a small part of the dysfunctional family that is the Howard Stern show. |

First of all, the site is NOT called fuck you sfn
They can take criticism with the best of them. That's not the issue.
They started their board for fans to have fun and discuss the show and share new ideas for future shows.
Go look at the Mis Men listening thread from a couple weeks ago. BEFORE the show even started, haters go in and start bashing, call Shuli a filthy jew, call them hacks, etc. It's not like they're giving constructive criticism, it's just being nasty for the sake of being nasty. Why would they want to deal with that week after week?
I don't care for the Bubba show, I think it's unlistenable. I have never gone in that forum and said a negative word about his show. I just ignore anything to do with Bubba, it's really not that difficult to do.
If you hate Shuli, Bob, Mis Men, that's fine. Why do these idiots feel the need to go into a listening thread where their fans are having a good time to just spew hate? |

I completely agree with what you are saying. However, when there are a thousand people anonymously posting, there will always be a few assholes. They just went after SFN in general and freaked instead of letting Doc Ivan or a mod know. I completely agree with your logic, but Levy and everyone is smart enough to know that these jerk offs have no social interaction and this is their way of feel tough or relevant to anything. They are just that, jerk offs. Unfortunately, those of us that enjoy the shows in the listening threads have to put up with the three or four assholes, until a mod bounces them. If memory serves the week MM announced www.linkdisabled.com a mod came in and got rid of some people.

I would imagine for the same reason the STERN fan network has a Bubba and Ferrall forum.
The Miserable Men forum is the main one and then the fans can also talk about other shows they like and it doesn't interfere with the Mis Men forum. |

Chrissy, we’ve never met but, I have great respect for you and the other ladies who’ve stayed on SFN to debate and defend their men. These guys are professional comedians who thanks to the Howard Stern show are getting the recognition that they deserve. But they have to know that by alienating those fans as a group (all a bunch of assholes) when only few crazies say some bad words (do I have to do the sticks and stones thing?) its regoddamdiculios!! Apparently Gilbert is in town again this week and if he doesn't come in tomorrow it would certainly be worthy of some time to discuss if Gilbert has worn out his welcome on the Stern show at this point because of overexposure or other issues as of late. If Gilbert isn't in tomorrow (Thursday) this will make 3 or 4 times now since his last appearance that he has been in NYC without appearing on the Show. |

According to the poll I posted 124(79.9999%) vs. 33(20%) thought he was a great guest. Getting 80 percent of the people on SFN to agree on anything has to translate to 100% with the curve.
